BIG Button ..., BIG Disappointment – Elderly 87y.o. friend of mine purchased this phone in June 2021. I got the phone up and running for her, how I'm not sure as it is a pain to navigate and I'm a lot younger and reasonably tech savvy. She only ever used it for making and receiving calls because it was too hard to use without a touch screen. After 18 months, we noticed it was not… Read more

charging properly and would never go beyond 51%, sometimes a lot lower. She contacted Opel and was told by the receptionist to go to their website ..., very handy for elderly people that don't have access to the internet, much less internet or computer savvy! I called Opel myself but was not able to contact them so instead decided to fill in their 'contact us' online web form. That was on the 18th Jan and to date I haven't even had the courtesy of a reply in any way, shape or form. What is it with companies that offer no 'after sales' service. It's downright disgusting ..., especially as your products often target the older population. My advice to anyone wanting a phone for a senior member of their family is do yourself a favour and get them a decent touch phone. They're more reliable and much, much easier to use!

Big buttons very helpful when needed – Please check phone connectivity before purchasing. Company more than helpful with any questions. The phones are a good size and easy to use as this is for my father. Show details

Very Disappointed – I bought this phone for my elderly mum as it has big buttons and a big screen. I was so happy when I first saw it. I charged it overnight. At 7am in the morning it was 100% charged by 11am I checked the battery and it was down to 49%. The phone had not even been used. I just had it in my bag. I haven't even given to my mum yet. I was taking… Read more

it over tonight as a surprise. I'm not happy at all and will be taking it back to the store I bought if from for a refund.

Poor battery life, only 1 week old – Bought this phone a week ago, doesn't hold charge more than 2 days, even thou made no calls or use. Was advised by Telstra office to buy this when I went to buy similar phone but dearer with them. Not happy with it. Show details

Don’t buy this. Doesn’t last long at all and not big numbers – Bought this for my elderly mother. The buttons were not big nor easy to use. The phone is extremely flimsy and the back cover falls off only after 2 months of use and the battery shows charged but constantly beeps and says battery is low. Now it’s stopped working only after 2 months. It is imperative my mother has a working phone being elderly and… Read more

unwell and this was not great quality. A phone should last longer than 2 months. Bought this from company 3 feet solutions. They are impossible to deal with. Won’t give a refund unless send product back. For $70 they should be refund i for replacing. The phone is uselsss and so is the company. Unable to send phone back due to lockdown and mother has no phone so have asked the company multiple times to send kne in the meantime but refuses. So mother has no phone and her life is in a serious medical cindtion. Find something else guys

Bad sound quality. Do not buy for seniors – The sound quality is very poor. Even turned up to maximum, the volume range is limited. My 76 yr old father (who does not wear hearing aids) could not hear clearly unless phone was switched to speaker. Also confusing to use. Do not recommend for seniors. (Beware, retailers do not refund used phones. If not suitable you are throwing money away). Show details

Well worth the price! – Overall satisfied, but for someone with a disability: 1. The call and hang up buttons should be differentiated by green and red colour 2. Having to use the headphones in to use the radio is a minus as it is hard to do for dexterity reasons. The big screen is really great and the graphics is quite good too. The big keys is great. For the price, it is well worth it!  Show details

Too low earpeace volume while on a call – Even with the incoming call volume turned up fully while speaking it is far too low and I have normal hearing. Only good when select the speaker phone option. Problem is you have to select this every time you are listening to someone. No way to save it. Show details

Extremely difficult to use – Very slow, not user friendly at all. Impossible to write and send texts. If you're buying this for someone who is not tech savvy this will make them reject technology forever. Seems to have a mind of its own and most functions only work sporadically . Even the user manual does not relate to the phone. Also the charging cradle broke after one day. Don't waste your money on this rubbish. Show details

Overrated Not User Friendly – I bought this phone for my bed-ridden sister who has impaired use of her hands. I thought the big button format would help her but that feature is the only good thing about this phone. Poor battery life, hard to find settings for control of volume, long messages can’t be read as the screen fills up with the reply screen, tried to change the… Read more

ringtone but it keeps reverting to the default tone. Every time she phones me the phone drops out at least ten times in a half hour call. I am relegating this phone to the garbage bin. I feel very disappointed and cheated.

Wouldn’t recommend it to my enemies, much less my friends – It is a piece of garbage. Has not worked from day one. I returned it to the AustPost Childers, Qld shop the very next day, where I bought it, only to be told it was my problem & to send it to Opel. I cannot receive calls nor make calls all the time, only very intermittently. It is supposed to be a 4G phone, but only comes up as 3G. I keep… Read more

BIG BUTTON X 4G – Battery lasts approximately 30hrs with very limited use. Messages too complicated for the elderly. Having to press 2 buttons to hang up, not just the average 1 press of red phone. We couldn't connect to telstra wifi with optus SIM in phone. Not Happy. Show details

Big Button X 4G – Big buttons are great. Battery lasts not even 1 day standing idle. Quite a difficult system for seniors to use. Msging is difficult. Too many actions required to do simple tasks like deleting msgs. Not recommended for ease of use at all. Show details

Not a seniors phone – I bought this as my second phone and while I like the flip feature, big buttons and the compact size(making it easy to fit in back pocket) I find it awkward and time consuming for writing text. Camera is average. Ok as a backup phone but not really one for seniors.Keep looking! Show details

Disappointed – I bought this for my 92 year old Dad and whilst in general it is a simple phone the volume is no where loud enough for old people. The only way for him to hear is to press the speaker button and sometimes he forgets how to do this. Really Opel could you not think about volume on a phone designed for older people? I am somewhat disappointed and thinking to try the smart phone again as at least the volume is loud! Show details

Not perfect – I bought this for my Dad who is 92 and spent a few hours to set it up for him. It takes too long to unlock it with the long press*. The speaker is difficult to turn on every time and not loud enough to listen to calls. The FM radio is meant to auto-tune the stations but wouldnt work for me. It took me quite a while to find the speed dial setup.… Read more

But once I set it up it made the phone a lot easier to make calls. Same for the SOS on the back. The instruction book is so small I had to print up the online manual to be able to read it! An elderly person would find it difficult to setup the phone without help!

not bad but .......!!!!! – Manual is very basic & doesn't cover specific things like how do you switch off the voice if you only want ring tone, etc?? Good phone for elderly people and good local vendor support – Purchased the Opel big button phone for my mum, who has difficult seeing small buttons and writing. Contacted the Opel support email address, got a prompt response from a… Read more

Impossible for a Non tech savy senior to set up – Luckily My son was on holidays with me and had time to fiddle around for a great lengt of time with this phone to get into the features it provided. He got every feature going, but after a… Read more

Frustration in extreme – I guess if you by a cheap phone you can not expect much. If you manage to input the phone numbers and names it might be ok. I may stamp on it soon. If you save money by not providing a basic instructions to set it up you can not seriously expect good reviews. I may not get this email sent as I can not think of spending more time on this product.  Show details

Perfect phone for my Nanna – I bought this phone for my Nanna as she only needed something simple to use. Best phone she has ever had. super easy to use, loud enough for her to hear as she has hearing aids and has big buttons for her to see and press. Would be perfect if INSTRUCTIONS as well as the operators manual came with it – I've lost count of the number of mobile phones that I've owned and set-up but this one defied all my attempts to set the address book. The best phone – If your job entails moving objects around that could potentially break ur iPhone screen, then you will be very happy if you purchase this product, you can place it anywhere, on ur tools shelf and MY it rings so loud unlike the smart phones that you wont hear ringing while the vacuum cleaner is on. The buttons are soft, the screen brightness is good too. All apps run smoothly  Show details

No Instructions – I brought this phone from Australia Post because it is supposed to be easy to use for Seniors. It 'could' be kind of easy if the instruction manual actually had instructions. as to how to set up and use. I have used smart phones for over 20 years and this baffles me. Have no idea how my Dad would set it up. There is hardly anything on the internet about this phone, its supplier etc, only adds for purchasing it. Very very disappointed in this offering by Australia Post.
