Opel Mobile Lite4G

The worst of the worst – Worst phone I've ever used, and I've been through A LOT of phones, but nothing compares to level of crap of the Opel mobile telephone. The speed, the interface, the available memory, it's all absolutely barely functional. There are other cheap phones that work, and are user friendly. Choose ANYTHING but Opel.

Not User Friendly & Poor Signal Strength – I do not recommend this product. I bought an Opel Lite4G (non-smart phone) for my 83yr old aunty & have not been happy with it at all. out - sometimes she couldn't make a call at all, sometimes it drop out in the first couple of minutes, other times she might get lucky & be able to talk 10 or 20 minutes - it was extremely annoying to have the calls dropping out all the time. We thought it was something she was doing initially but after testing it ourselves realised it was the mobile. We had a Telstra sim so we took it to a Telstra shop to see if they could fix it but they couldn't & Telstra has the best reception - they suggested the phones signal might simply not be strong enough. Seeing as I tried to return the phone twice to the Post Office we bought it from without success I rang the Opel mobile customer service line - only to be also told that although I could return it to be looked at under warranty I would not be eligible for a refund & might incur postage fees & they might also find nothing wrong with it. So not at all happy with the Opel mobile & much happier with the Motorola smart phone we replaced it with. Below is a copy from google search which shows the Opel Mobile company touting it as the best mobile for seniors - in my experience it most definitely is not.

If you want to annoy the crap out of Emergency 000, get this phone – I bought this phone for my elderly mother, who also suffers from arthritis in her hands. up my mother's phone. I managed to accidentally call/annoy them another few times before turning the phone off in frustration. I looked for a way to disable this idiotic setting as I had no doubt that my 79 year old mother would certainly unintentionally push this button while she fumbles with the phone to make calls, not to mention that it can easily be pushed while it's in a handbag. I contacted support about disabling this feature and was told that there is no way of turning this off, nor is there a way of reallocating the 000 number to another less conspicuous button. Out of respect for Emergency services I will not be giving this phone to my mother. It's gone in the trash.

Whoever designed this feature, without offering the option to disable, should be fired. May I suggest that you put all the $70 you collect from unsuspecting customers and pay someone to fix this.

I bought this for my 94yo mother, who needs to only make and receive local calls - (so no unnecessary bells and whistles). Very easy to use, big numbers, + an SOS button, which is critical.
