Manufacturing issues – The internal workings of this phone are durable until their warranty has run dry I strongly recommend that if you buy this phone That upon the expiration of it's warranty that you either care for it greatly or, buy a new phone This is due to the internals either being or becoming quite fragile or brittle The phone cannot handle a hot day and… Read more
will overheat without being left unused I have managed to "field repair" mine but I will be purchasing another device until I know that the quality of these products and future products are sturdy enough to suit a working citizen's lifestyle
Ok Starter For Seniors if only using in city – On the surface this phone seemed great. User wise, nothing complicated about it. I bought it for my Dad who had never used a smartphone and he intially found it quite easy to use. He only used it for making and receiving phone calls and text msgs so really wanted just a simple, uncomplicated phone. It was easy to setup for those who know… Read more
smartphones. Simple UI. Nice clear big icons for seniors to see and press. Touch screen was ok, albeit very cheap and thin so scratched with the slightest thing so looked terrible in a short time. Easy to make phone calls and send messages, however, it really is only designed to work in the city close to cell towers. It states 4G but on the outer suburbs, it lost signal continuously while falling back to 3G. I was told the antenna is weak and this is why too, which retailers conveniently omit from the details in sales. Volume was nice and loud for ringtones and notifications which could be adjusted however the person's voice during phone calls sounded muffled, hard to hear as if something was muffling the mouthpiece/microphone and between that and the signal dropping out made the phone rather annoying and unusable. The battery life was really good for those only using it for basic use, (odd phone call and texting) it lasted almost 1 full week before having to charge it again. Overall it's not a practical phone for anyone who lives in the outer suburbs not close to cell towers. Especially the elderly. The signal was way too unpredictable and the microphone problem appears to not be a one-off thing. Several people have reported the same issue.
After my dad told me about the signal dropping and voice issue even when he is with Telstra, I can't recommend this phone to those whom live on the outskirts of the city. For the price, you'd be better off looking at something else more reliable and actually asking if the phone is compatible with your network and what the antenna is like along with the bands it can use. This is something that retailers fail to tell you or aren't trained with the correct information, so please do some research yourselves. I ended up purchasing a different phone for my dad.
