My A54 is the third Oppo phone I’ve had I have no complaints about the actual phone it works well what I have and issue with is the fingerprint scanner extremely difficult to use constantly deleting the print then reinstalling it because the bloody thing just doesn’t work looking for another phone now it won’t be an Oppo Show details
Mind of its own – Oppo a54 5g goes to Silent mode when it wants to, I've missed calls and text messages cause I Don't Hear them come in.. I've Never used Rotate (always off) but this Phone Rotates when it feels like it and usually at the most inconvenient time... Also slow performance with time outs when trying to browse the Net. Have Complained to Oppo but that was Fruitless, couldn't advise or fix it, expecting me to send my phone 1000+ km to nearest repairer... Show details
Expect issues – This phone has so many issues. Randomly chooses not to send texts. Randomly selects encrypted mode. Has virtually no coverage outside of built up areas. Drop outs are common. Changes preferences without permission. Technical support are no help. Show details
Does The job – Good pH for the money for basic things like email, messages, Facebook Show details
Auto Rotate – My Oppo rotates when it feels like it even though rotation is Turned OFF, Bloody Annoying and also the camera from swipe in the bottom right is also annoying, I go to swipe up to access my phone and the bloody camera logo in the bottom right pops up and my camera comes on, I dont want to take photos each time i open my phone... But cant complain… Read more
as there is no where to complain and no one has given any info as to how to fix this Auto rotation or if I can move the bloody camera thingy to somewhere else on my phone screen where it wont be activated each time I swipe
Avoid this phone. Slowest performance phone – Oppo A54 5G phone is cheap and you get what you pay for. Continually freezes especially first thing in the morning or when taking photos or videos. Emails with images take forever to display. I need to restart the phone multiple times a day for it to work and then it doesnt take long for the performance to drop considerably. Show details
Decent phone for everyday's use – My first Oppo phone lasted 2 years and it died. I was thinking to get a Samsung but my hubby bought me A54 last Christmas. Oppo is a very decent mobile phone for everyday's use. I use it daily for casual browsing and watch Netflix at bedtime. I noticed the battery life loses faster than it charges. Camera sometimes can be temperamental (ie froze).… Read more
I use wifi while on bedroom and the apps updates automatically. However this morning the phone voluntarily shuts down or frozen. I restarted the phone twice now it seems working fine. Don't get Oppo as your work phone, your business won't go very far
Terrible phone. Don't buy – Ver slow processor. My Pixel 2 was faster and more responsive than this phone. The finger print reader is in a bad position where I'm constantly triggering it and then it's locked out and I have to use my pin. The camera is also worse than my pixel 2. I would have thought something brand new would be faster than second hand but don't let the spec… Read more
sheet fool you. Only good thing about this phone is the battery life, it's waterproof, dual Sim and you have the option of external storage. I also appreciate that it comes with a screen protector and case in the box. Incredibly frustrating phone. It's brand new and it feels like a downgrade.
Perfect for Photography – If you're looking for a phone that has a good camera and a long-lasting battery life. I would highly recommend this product! So far, it doesn't give me any headache. I use it to play games and it runs smoothly. Show details
Great Value Phone – Oppo is a reliable Phone company. The software/Ui is clean and runs well. The A54 has a 5000mah battery which lasts 2 days. It charges at 18W which is decently fast. I am very happy with this phone. Show details
Very good phone for the cost – Bought the oppo A54 as a spare phone and got more then what was expected for the price. The camera and all those features aren't of the highest quality but more then what you'd expect for a $300 price tag. It runs all the necessary apps i need for my spare phone and have been very pleased with its operation up to this point. Show details
A well rounded phone – Been using this phone for a few months now and I prefer it to my previous Samsung Galaxy A50. Haven't been able to test out the 5G functionality since it isn't available yet with my network provider in my area, but I'm glad to know my phone has this capability once it becomes available. This is my first Oppo phone and I find it quite user… Read more
friendly and easy to use. The software does consistently lag on two occasions - when taking a screenshot and when a phone call comes through (it takes a few seconds for the screen to show you a call is coming in to allow you to answer it). Sometimes the phone also seems to drop out of 4G and then say I have no internet connection, but turning airplane mode quickly on then off again fixes this issue in about 20 seconds. Camera is fast and responsive but the photo quality is less than average once you start zooming in on something.
The battery life is great and long lasting but the phone is slow to charge - probably because it uses a 10W cable. This doesn't really matter anyway because the battery would easily last you around 1.5-2 days depending on usage and so I only ever charge my phone at night when I sleep, so the charging speed isn't really relevant.
Positive features is that the screen is really bright and responsive. Also, the fingerprint scanner on power button is amazing and works so well. Much better than an on screen fingerprint reader. Facial recognition for phone unlocking is also extremely fast. And I've set up Google pay so everywhere I go I just use my phone for all purchases and no longer need to carry a wallet with me. I have all my rewards cards also uploaded digitally. So the phone has heaps of modern features I really love.
Overall, it isn't the best phone I've ever owned but it's also definitely not the worst. I'm happy with it for the most part and would certainly consider buying another Oppo again in the future. They are an excellent value for money phone brand when compared to industry leaders like Samsung.
This mobile is not user friendly – The phone keeps switching over to silent mode, so I am missing calls and texts. I can not use my e-mail as it will not intergrade with this phone. The camera is not that great, a bit wishy washy. Its not easy to answer calls as the button and swiping does not always works so you miss a call and have to ring back. Not happy with this mobile and will be going back to my old iphone. Show details
