Oppo A74 5G 128GB/6GB RAM mobile random restarts stay away from this brand – I purchased OPPO A74 5G mobile phone in Jul 2022, mainly due to duel SIMs option and price range. After ~1.5 years starts doing random restarts. Initially, the restarts occurred infrequently, and I attributed them to potential problems with the installed applications. However, in the next 3 months, the situation has worsened, and eventually the… Read more
device began restarting every time I attempted to use any applications or access settings. I contacted OPPO tech support and they told me that phone is out of the warranty and they would do nothing. I tried myself resetting network settings, resetting all settings, erasing all data & finally a Factory Reset, but the problem persists. I lodge complaint with Consumer and Business Services and they recommended contact place of purchase, which was Officeworks. The Officeworks turns out to be a very supportive and authorised full refund straight away. Now bought Samsung mobile from the Officeworks. The biggest frustration is due to nature of the OPPO A74 5G mobile phone fault. It was impossible to recover any data and etc.
Serious software issues – Has more bad than good Bought this to replace Samsung A32. I picked this primarily for the Storage, RAM, price and wanted a 3.5mm jack. After using for a few weeks now have come across serious limitations with the software/OS. No matter what I try (believe me I have tried) you cannot have an alarm run for more than 5 seconds, even if its a MP3.… Read more
Google to see others complaining about this. Major issue missing alarms if you dont carry it 24/7. This is a biggie for me You also cannot save photos to SD card. The camera app has no option in settings for this.
Purchased in Feb 2023 at Harvey Norman for $399.
Oppo 74 5G – This phone and the service and back up of warranty from Oppo is the worst I have ever seen. Stay away from Oppo they do not honour their warranty not have they a workable product. Good luck to the once who ignored that message. To Oppo how about you provide my partner Debbie with a replacement phone who works, it’s now 3 weeks she tries to make it… Read more
work, spend to trips to the city and 3 trips to JB Hi-Fi it’s enough. The story goes on after sending it back to Oppo they could not find the fault, meanwhile my partner got a loan phone which worked perfectly fine with sending SMS messages. She got the phone returned and it is still randomly not sending messages. Altogether she spent 8 hrs and $100.- in fuel Togo back and forth. A company who cannot provide a replacement phone after such a long hassle back and forth should not be allowed to sell their product on the Australian market. Shame on you Oppo, next step is the consumer ombudsman.
Noppo – I got it because its dual sim but it doesn't work with two sims, it keeps overheating, it regularly loses signal and has to be restarted. Overall its a crap phone that u wouldn't care if u dropped off a cliff Show details
Terrible phone – I have had two Oppo's previous to this model that were terrific phones. Oppo has completely re-designed their platform. Why? This model is TERRIBLE. Constant glitches. No sound for text messages, just have to look at your phone every two minutes to make sure you don't miss anything. Was advised to re-set the phone (fun). Called Oppo and they can't… Read more
even navigate the phone. It seems I have a platform that does not match the trouble shooter guides? Missed calls and missed text messages don't always show up. Apparently now a text message is "Chat". When you use the camera via a text message, you cannot zoom in? Very complex to find and add images to a message. Ready to throw this horrible phone in the bin. Oppo had me hooked, but now I will look elsewhere.
Not good! – Terribly set up - seems to be set for those who live with their phone in their pockets and don't want to actually take part in texts (or life?). Complaint to oppo did nothing, phone was sent back but as the phone company had decided what a customer wants or does not want is immaterial. I refused to accept the delivery because they could do nothing… Read more
- I am down many dollars (of a pension) for this phone and lack of service. Their A72 was really good but this one fails on many levels. See email.
Why pay more? – Oppo A74 5G 128GB Because I'm not brand bias, I don't buy from misguided brand loyalty or such reason. We have come to know and trust our Westlakes local store consultant who advised me on all required features based on my work needs. This included a good camera, duel SIM, wakes up when I pick the phone up and fast processing. Phone cloning was… Read more
initially a bit tricky but eventually it cloned all my apps with more than a little perseverance. Double tap to wake, with notification announcement for incoming calls is handy as well. I use web messages for bulk sms / mms so another bonus. This unit cost under $500 and for everything I get, I'm very happy with it. Interface is easy to use and hassle free so highly recommend.
6 weeks old and battery wont charge – Purchased Oppo A74 5g late April 2021, First and very annoying issue from day 1 was pressing "Clear All" to close all open apps, sometimes it will close all but one or open one app to full screen or just ignore the "Close All" click. Took it back to place of purchase and we did a factory reset and the problem persisted. Now the battery indicator… Read more
is showing as charging with nothing plugged in, not charging at all even when plugged in for a full day on different chargers and then deciding to put some charge in. It is being sent back to Oppo in Sydney. I wish I could just get my money back on a phone I really don't like and spend the extra cash on a more reliable phone. UPDATE: Got it back from Oppo 24/06/21 Their service report states "Fault cause Software Upgrade (RJSJ1)" and they did a handset software flashed to avoid replicationof the issue. Now I'm unable to have apps in Alphabetical order. Was in contact with Oppo chat 24/06/21 and we did a reset and double checked it was set for Drawer and then a phone restart, still no alphabetical app listing. They suggested it might be fixed on the next update LOL I've seriously had enough of the crapped out new phone. I've packed it back in the box and stuck it in a drawer and gone back to my damaged old Samsung S8. I'm going to approach Oppo for a refund, I don't like my chances. So it will likely become a $447.00 desk ornament. :(
