I note a number of issues people have experienced with their A80. I haven't experienced any of those faults but after owning two of these phones (drowned the first one after only three months when I jumped into our pool before taking the phone out of my pocket. Derrr), I can say that the incredibly annoying fault with my phone also occurred with the previous one so it seems to be a software fault.
I am quite pedantic when messaging, using correct punctuation. In both phones, hitting the comma will either result in a full stop 8 times out of 10, or it will insert an unwanted preposition (eg in, of). As I have prepared this message, it has hit the full stop each time I've wanted a comma.
It's a small but very annoying fault when you have prepared a lengthy message or post, only to find unwanted full stops and new, nonsensical sentences. In most other respects the phone meets my needs pretty well but it is s only a few months old. I suspect it's eventual replacement won't be an Oppo.
Wow!! How good is my Oppo a80 phone.for around 360 AUD it does everything and does it very very well. Great specks.absolutely fantastic.why would anyone pay 1000 dollars for another brand???

Let me say first off, I'm not a tech geek or anything like that I have a large family so work to a budget and I don't care whether it's android or apple, however my last couple of phones have been OPPO, I recently purchased the A80 5G after having the previous model for 4 years or so and it was showing all the signs of having had enough ie slow, not loading apps it was finished. The A80 has been great, its quick, great memory size, loads all the apps, easy to find my way around, as it should be. It's got a good solid feel to it which I like. The only thing for me and it's probably the way I hold it at times my finger covers the speaker! But that's rare and not a biggy. So if you are on a budget and you can convince the kids that android is fine, despite the pressure from their mates to get iphones then this phone is more than OK. It's great value for money
AI camera is horrendous I've been through all settings cannot turn it off ,you take a photo and then it blurs . Very slow processing on certain apps ,likes to freeze and lag a lot. Very disappointed with this model I have been a fan of Oppo and have had three phones previously to this that have been fantastic but not this one .It's ok for a pre teen who doesn't have as many apps or pages open or an older person ,but if you like taking photos of family and scenery and want your phone to load straight away then it's not the phone for you . Other than that it's a good size budget price you pay for what you get.

Don't buy a phone you cannot turn off – This phone is ok but I would never consider buying it again. The reason? I cannot turn it off. Every time I try I get a message that says ask Gemini. Gemini is apparently part of google and is an app installed on the phone but I cannot find it to uninstall it. I have searched the internet for solutions but most are from overseas so the necessary links do not appear on my phone. For example, several videos suggested going to extra settings but there is no link for extra settings on my phone. Would never have bought this if I had known it has basically been hijacked by google.
