Great phone – Bought this phone in 2016. Still great, takes great photos. Bought it for $259 which was the cheapest on the market at that time. It turned out to be a great phone too. Much better than the Samsung I previously had and much better photos. It also is good value for money!  Show details

Still working, still using it. Even better after adding storage! – Good value. Did everything I wanted it to do, messaging, calling, googling, purchasing items on ebay, banking, telegram, WhatsApp, FB. The apps work fine and I can watch tons of Netflix on it. Recently added a micro SD and increased storage. Most importantly, at the time of purchase and comparing a variety of mobile phones, I didn't have to pay a high price for a surprisingly less well-known brand.  Show details

Absolutely frustrating! – Found out this phone is being discontinued by Oppo, and I can see why! Slow, unresponsive, pressing on the screen brings up the wrong menu most of the time! I was embarrassed when I went overseas and my friends one year old Samsung outperformed my Oppo in terms of picture quality... Especially since the main selling point of the F1S was the front… Read more

& rear cameras! Due to my experiences with this, I will never buy another Oppo product, no matter how "good" the specs look on paper. Thanks Oppo, you've made my decision in buying another phone/gadget much easier by cancelling your Brand due to the inferiority of the OS, I'll be looking for more superior quality & better known brands in the future

Wanted to hate it – I bought my Oppo F1S after my Samsung Galaxy Note 4 died on me unexpectedly, and I didn't have enough money to replace it with another Samsung. I honestly hated the phone when I first got it. But, after using it for a little bit under a year, I can say it has a hell of a lot of good features for the $250 I paid for it. Minor annoyances: -… Read more

ColourOS is too similar to Apple - I've never had an iPhone and I despised that I couldn't easily manage my apps and put them into folders in a bulk lot like I could on a Samsung. Some might see this as a pro, if you prefer Apple's OS but don't want to pay the big bucks for an iPhone.

- Do Not Disturb mode often stopped my alarm going off in the mornings, despite allowing exceptions for alarms (Using Sleep As Android) so I had to either turn off "Do Not Disturb" or set an alarm on a different device. This probably wouldn't be an issue for normal people, but I rely on Do Not Disturb a fair bit, so this was a big thing for me.

- Features are not quite as good as a higher end phone, but this is to be expected for the price range.

Pros:

- Oodles of space. I had an SD card in the phone when I was using it, but now it's being used as a spare for my kids to stuff around with, they have a whole tonne of storage hungry apps installed on it and we've never had a "low storage space" warning.

- Runs all apps well. I run a lot of games on this phone, for myself and my kids and it always ran them smoothly and performed excellently.

- The case & screen protector that came with the phone are bulletproof. I have dropped this phone about a thousand times and it hasn't got a single chip or scratch on it. I wish Oppo made screen protectors for other phones, because the quality is insanely good.

- Battery life is great, even a year later. I can take this thing off charge before bed and it'll drop from 100% to maybe 98% overnight, even with WiFi and Bluetooth activated. This is actually better than my current phone (Samsung S7)

- Virus & Malware protection included, and the phone prompts you to do regular cleanups of your cache and other junk files.

- Fingerprint scanner. I wasn't expecting the phone to have one of these, and it's actually pretty nifty. I only discovered this feature after I'd changed phones, but wish I'd known about it earlier.

- Photos were always great quality, with either the front or back camera.

It is NOT user friendly at all! – I regret buying this phone every time I pick it up to use it. They have changed the way all basic Android phones work with their own type of menu features this is NOT an improvement it is almost the complete opposite of what you expect and used to. They have really butchered the feel and ease of using the phone, if you are used to the normal way… Read more

androids work then this phone will really annoy you every time you try to use it if you're an Apple user you will also have issues this PHONE has a no man's land operating system style.

The screen is such a pain, the middle is NOT that sensitive you almost have to PUNCH it for it to pick up the fact that you are trying to do something, while the bottom buttons are so super sensitive it is a nightmare. If you are using the phone for or with any app for touchscreen use the center of the screen is almost dead yet as the button is so super sensitive if any part of your body i.e stomach accidentally lightly touches the screen it is instantly recognised and 9 times out of 10 you are EXITED out of the APP!

While the camera is good it has a habit of resetting its setting to god only know what, sorry but I just do not understand what it is trying to do?

All in all, on paper it IS EXCELLENT value for money but in real life, once you have bought it if you are anything like me you will feel that you have just wasted a lot of good money on junk the just wants to argue with you.

Great budget alternative to Apple iPhones! – I have found this to be a great phone, particularly for the price, and it has all the features you would expect in a phone. It is easy to use and navigate and thankfully is low on built in applications which leaves more memory space in the phone to start off with. I love using Notes for lists and how I can also save online links in it as well for… Read more

easy access. I can also do word processing as well which is a huge bonus for me as I cannot always use a computer. You can also easily sync your emails for handy on the go access and notifications. There is also the option to choose your notification settings for emails and messages. Sound quality is good and there is a varied selection of ring, message and alarm tones to choose from. The quality of the photos and videos are also pretty good, admittedly not up there with an IPhone, however still much better quality than many other Android phones. The Theme Store is very cute with various options to choose from, however I did have one of the designs, Light Flower, glitch on my phone preventing me from changing it from my lock screen. Overall a great value phone for the price with many features of a more expensive phone without the extra expense.

Reliable, affordable, long lasting – I've had this phone for almost 2 years now. It came with a rubber plastic cover and a screen cover. I've dropped it, taken it to the beach, gone overseas a couple times, taken 1000's of photos and NEVER had a problem with it. No software issues and it's always reliable. The battery still lasts all day. Plenty of storage, apps run smoothly and the camera is decent enough too to take photos day/night. I'd highly recommend this phone.  Show details

Great $ under 300 phone – The camera is amazing for under $350. It can take wonderful close up pictures and selfies with HDR or beauty functions. How ever it does lack in low light conditions. The phone is quite durable I have had my phone for 3 years and after being repeatedly dropped with a cracked screen it still works. Mic quality is something I was left wanting. The… Read more

Mic sometimes didn't even pick up my voice when I was practically shouting at it. Battery life is the greatest thing. Can last for up to 2 days in standby mode and about 5-7 hours if you constantly used it. Great upgrade if you are looking at a phone for under $300. But I would try and get something else.

Great if you want an iphone look-alike; bad if you are an Android power user – Very good hardware - good screen, battery, call quality, fast processor, strong case, etc. Full marks here. VERY BAD software ... the crappy ColorOS version of Android they put on there is a horrible no-mans land mishmash of Android and IOS. They have tried to dumb down Android to make it more like Apple, but the result is they have removed… Read more

the freedom and flexibility of Android, whilst not achieved the slick feel of IOS with no defects.

If you're happy with IOS you probably dont know enough to know what you are missing out on either with ColorOS - so you will probably like this phone. For me they have just restricted too many things ... I can't choose to use a different texting app, I can't customise how my contacts are displayed, etc. For most people this isnt an issue.

Heap of junk – I have had nothing but problems with this phone. The quality of build is poor with microphone failing in first week of purchase. Then ports started failing ear phones and recharge ports soon after. Then there is the google privacy invasion and lack of built in protections from hacking. Overall it's not worth the dollars saved  Show details

A good upgrade – Purchased this phone in later 2017 as an upgrade to the F1 (as my partner needed a phone at the time and I decided to give him mine). I find that the F1s is overall much faster than the F1, and the upgraded camera is a big plus as well.  Show details

Good at everything – I was worried about buying from Oppo at 1st as I'd never heard of their phones before but I gave it a go as it was affordable and seemed to be of good quality. Very Competitive – A superb phone for the price! It certainly rivals some iphone features as well as the upper end of Samsung. The only issue that I have had with it is 1 photo in about 200 being corrupted. There is the odd Android glitch here and there, but I would certainly recommend it to any one!  Show details

Excellent Value For Money – The Oppo F1S is excellent value for money. On first impressions, the build quality is outstanding for the price point. The screen is impressive, the display very good. The menus are easily navigated and the phone is very, very functional. Does all that I require for my purposes and much more that I will more than likely never understand anyway.… Read more

Well done Oppo. The only disappointment is perhaps the camera quality but taking into account the price point this is a petty complaint. My next phone purchase will certainly be a newer generation of Oppo - the Apple killer.

Strong and sturdy – This is the only phone I've had that I haven't broken within a few months. one of the best budget phones you can get – so i bought this phone around 300 dollars, and this phone is really good for the price but the downside is the cpu because the phone gets laggy but its not to bad. Value for money – Perfect value for money, everything works really well except the back camera is pretty awful, and it was much more difficult to buy a protective cover/case and tempered glass - the cover got filthy so i took it off and straight away smashed my screen, to repair the screen it was half the price you paid for the phone so that sucks. Otherwise can't think of many faults. Did the job.  Show details

Excellent for the price point – Great phone and heaps of features and good solid workhorse for the dollars you pay. Great price for a decent phone – Brought from Target for $320, locked to Optus tho. It's a great phone with more than 1 day battery. Very practical and intuitive interface. If not installed with useless apps this phone runs very fast, never had a complaint with it. Would recommended to anyone is after a daily phone at a reasonable price.  Show details

Good Value – Ive had this phone for almost two years, It has lasted really well with only some minor issues (the volume of the speaker decreased after a year or so but was good at the start. It is well built, I have dropped it multiple times and it has never cracked the screen! Good value for your buck – Purchased this phone of the intent of being cheap, and it has not disappointed me yet. Was an iPhone user prior to purchasing this phone and the transfer from one company to another was smooth. Only negative is that is a bit large for my linking, However, the positives outweighs the negative as the camera quality is phenomenal for a cheap phone.  Show details

Excellent phone – I purchased my Oppo in February 2017 and I love using it. It's big enough to fit comfortably in my handbag but not too big it looks out of place. You don't need to spend a lot to get a good phone – After owning a few Samsung phones, the last one had charging issues which were slowly killing it. Rather than pay for repairs, I decided to buy a new smart phone. I'd seen the F1S demonstrated in the local supermarket and the quality of the camera ran rings around my Samsung. Bought it for about $220 online (Target) and have a cheap prepaid plan ($16/pm Vaya), which is all I need. Would happily buy the same phone again.  Show details
