Great, but fingerprint & face recognition lack speed – I really like Oppo, this is my second one. It has a lengthy battery life and charges fairly quickly. It syncs with my Fitbit Versa 3 with no problem and I like the aesthetics, thin, large screen and light in weight when you consider its size. Great screen display and easy to organise folders - so you can find everything on the tip of your fingers! The photos are amazing! Who needs a camera? This phone does it all and in very high quality! The three things I didn't like about this particular phone are: the fingerprint takes a bit too long to act and the same thing with face recognition - due to the pop up camera (which at first I thought it was a cool feature, now it's an additional nuisance). It would also be nice if we could prompt Google without having to login to the phone every time, say I want to ask for the weather, I have to login to ask Google. Anyway, these are little things that Oppo could possibly improve, but I really like this phone and when I'm forced to upgrade, it may just be another Oppo, who knows?! I find it very reasonably priced for all the features and quality that it offers in comparison to other bigger brands.
21/09/2021 I felt the need to update my review above. Recently my phone fell on the ground, didn't break or scratch, thanks to its protective cover that it comes with, however, the screen leaked and within hours, I had no phone, everything went black - thankfully I had enough time to back everything up (I know... I should be doing this consistently) . Very disappointing, I had phones before that would take quite a lot of falls and were resistant, not sure if this may be the new screen technology on this OPPO phone. Because the phone is new and didn't break, I decided to fix the screen. Well... yesterday it took a very, very small fall, again, no break or scratch, but again the screen leaked, this time I didn't lose the phone, it has a small leak on the corner of the phone and it seems that it won't spread - fingers crossed.
Given how fragile this phone is, I will take one star out, because in this day and age, I feel that our phones that we use for really everything, should be more resistant to falls, particularly small falls.
Good phone, but don't let it fall!
Purchased in at JB Hi-Fi for $549.
Amazing camera – Best camera and the phone seems to be indestructible because I drop it constantly and only have the case it came with. I'm new to Android but it seems so easy to use. Only fault I can't find accessories anywhere yet
Purchased in at Officeworks for $656.
Oppo Have Done it Again! – I upgraded from the Oppo R15 Pro to the Reno 2z just after it was released. I only have a few words to describe how I feel.. I... Love... It! The cameras are awesome! Instagram Stories can be a bit laggy, but it's not the end of the earth! The case is great, although I wish there was a clear option also included so you could choose which one you prefer! The white colour is amazing (so is the black but I went white for something different)! Feels good in the hand, easy to use, and an added touch I love is the LED on the selfie camera when it pops up can have the light colour change or you can randomize what colour appears when you switch to selfie mode!
Price point is actually great for what you get! So far I am impressed yet again!!! I got it outright for $599 (the current price as of 4/12/2019).
Well worth it if you're looking for a sleek change to your phone!
