Optim Steam Clean

Great mop...love it! – Love this mop, really efficient, extremely easy to use and does a great job. Great value. Needed to frequently fill up the water tank which is so easy to do and takes only a few seconds. The best mop I’ve had actually! Great value xx Show details
GREAT PRODUCT – I have read others views and I agree with some things. My first one lasted a little more than 5 months so I took it back. That was 4 years ago and I am still using my Optim mop. I think it does a very good job on slate and tiles - great on my ceramic floor tiles - no mop marks and dries immediately - no waiting for floor to dry. I have… Read more
tried on my carpet and I was very pleasantly surprised. Excellent job and so easy to use. I think I am due for a new unit as heating is taking longer and I will definitely be buying another Optim. Have tried 2 other brands previously and much prefer the Optim for value and ease of use.
Great Unit – Have had one for 2 years now and use on 80 sq.metres of tiles. Faster than a mop and you don't use dirty water on half the tiles and is also faster and does a cleaner job. If it packs up I'am straight down to Godfrey's for a new one.
This is Awesome product! – I've had my mop for 3 months now and its so fast doesn't take long to heat and it's perfect does the job all the time even when my son has had a turn or two still works the same i also really like how you can wash the pads and re-use them again saves a lot of money
meh – I liked flexibility to mop carpets , but it also stopped working after a year. Leaked a bit also. Off to buy another brand now
Great Product – This steam mop is great, easy and lightweight and cleans well leaving floors smelling fresh just like a steam smell without the use of nasty chemicals , great product and will tell my friends all about it.
Awful product – Used this piece product just a few times. It kept leaking and stopped working completely after one year. Bought this from Godfreys for $120. Took it back to them and they said its going to cost another $100 to repair it. What a joke and a rip off product. Cant believe this rubbish is even allowed on the market. Poor, poor product. And dont believe… Read more
a word those people at Godfreys try to tell you about their products when they want to make a sale.
Pushes dust around – This doesn't seem to do much more than find any little bits of dust I missed sweeping and push them around the floor. You pump the handle to make it steam... But it doesn't seem to achieve much. It's my first experience of a steam mop so I can't compare to others - but I gave it away and bought a string mop and bucket to replace it.
Disappointing – Very disappointed with this mop. Am just taking it back to be repaired for the second time - it only lasted for about 60 minutes. I would suggest buying a better quality mop as they really do work but I have not had much luck with this one or another 'cheap' one that I bought.
Optim steam clean – I got this mop from Godfreys. Of course, is very good to clean the floor using the steam, but this mop worked for few months but after did not work anymore. Could not heat the water for the steam, so didn't work. Was useless. Disappointed. I won't suggest to anybody. I suggest to buy a different model, better one.
Don't waste your money – I bought a Optimplus steam mop from Godfreys in July 2012. I used it probably 8-10 times and it just stopped working. It also leaked every time I used it. I paid $129 for this piece of rubbish. I guess it pays to spend a bit more and get a better unit
Total Rubbish – Paid $100 for this unit. The unit itself fell to pieces after 12 months. I put bigger screws in the unit and it fell to pieces again after one use. Got another one free with a vacuum cleaner purchase, used it 3 times and it just stopped working. Potentially dangerous product. Don't even contemplate getting one of these. They cleaned fairly well when they were working. Poorly built, rubbish.
Optim Steam Clean Mop Appr A/11542E – This unit ultimately caused an earth leakage trip. When I switched it on, the light flashed and then went off. I think I used it only about 5 times in the last year. It's a bit hard on the back. An adjustable handle would have helped. Off to the tip with this one. Does a fair job on pile carpet. Needs handle pumping action to build steam. May have poor electrical safety in the wiring of the unit.

Get what you pay for – I bought this on special from godfreys for 30 bux and I have already spent twice that amount replacing the pads. I got it for our new tiled floor and it leaves a lot of streaks. I don't like that you have to keep pumping it to build up steam. Microfibres pads are flimsy and tears too easily from going between tile and grout. Would spend better… Read more
money next time on better quality steam mop. Cheap and easy to use Flimsy and pad replacements are too often
This is the worst mop ever. The first one i had packed up after about 10 months they replaced it… Read more
Cleans ok but a bit flimsy – This is my first steam mop that we got free from Godfreys. Was amazed at how easy it is to clean the floor compared to mop and bucket. The handle is very flimsy and it has started to spill water when being used. I wouldn't buy this one again but for free it's great. Am now looking for a better quality model. So much easier to clean floors, even… Read more
grubby kitchen floors than an old mop and bucket. Handle is very flimsy and starting to spill water after about 6months.
It's now 12 months on and the steam mop has all but fallen apart. Will buy another but not this model.
Damaged floors – I have clip-lock wood looking floorboards which after having used the Optim Steam mop purchased from Godfreys approx 4 mths ago has started to warp and lift my floor :( .... Prior to using this steam mop, I used to use an old fashioned mop that I kept slightly damp to clean the floors and never had any problems for the last 3 years. Not happy Jan ;( Also the steam mop leaves my floor looking smeared and unclean.
check with your floor supplier I think you will find steam mops are taboo for clip lock veneer wood floors. Of course it will warp your floor. Duh!!
Nothing special – I got this as a freebie from Godfrey's. I don't have any other steam mops to compare it to, so I'm not sure as to how well they are meant to clean, but this does a pretty ordinary job. To me it's like cleaning the floors with a slightly damp mop. I find a normal mop and bucket (with detergent) does a far better job as the steam mop doesn't remove… Read more
much grime (which with kids their is plenty of!). I have used it on both lino and tiles with the same outcome. I can't see this mop coming back out of the cupboard anytime soon. Ok as a freebie. Get a better job done with a mop and bucket.
Love it. After a year, it's still going strong! – Like many of the reviewers, I got this free with a purchase of vacuum cleaner at Godfrey's. After a year of use, I loved it that much that I bought a second one when they were on offer for $36. Lucky I did, as my dog chewed through the cable right at the top. I've now been using the new one for 6 months, twice a week on all my wooden floors (3… Read more · 1
bedroom house). I haven't had a single problem.
I wanted a steam cleaner to bring up the shine in my floors and remove paw prints. It does both with ease. It's probably not recommended that I do this, but I add a cap full of Mr Sheen liquid floorboard cleaner to the water in the well. It brings up my floorboards a treat. And I haven't managed to damage the steam cleaner in over 18 months of use.
It's a light as a feather, really easy to fill and use. Throw the cleaner pad in the wash when you're done. Easy job done. And my floor shine and smell like a rainforest. Cheap, easy to use, great shine on my floorboards The lead is short so you need an extension cable
About what they are worth! – Bought Gidfreys $35, my third mop in 4yrs (other brands). Looks flimsy but if put together correctly works fine. Area of pad doing the job around the same size as just about every other steam mop expensive or not that's one aspect I look for. The extra pads at $9 are too dear ($2.50 would be reasonable). Plenty of steam which can be regulated… Read more · 1
as you go and does the job. Compared to past mops has been the best. For the price give it a go. take a long look at the more expesive models, plenty of colurful plastic and futuristic designs. Great packaging but do they work any better?! Hoplesss on carpets as are all steam mops from my experience. Small/light, easy to fill and goes where you point it. Easy to store away.
cheap & flimsy – I brought this for $40 when Godreys had a deal on. Basically purchased as I'd never used a steam mop before. I thought for the price I could try it to see if I liked the way a steam mop cleaned & if I didn't like it, well I'd get my floors clean and then then would toss it with no great loss. It did the job and loved the clean floors, but it fell… Read more
apart after about 5-6 goes. So don't buy more cloth pads unless your floors are disgustingly grotty. On the look out now for a bit pricer better built steam mop with better reviews. It did the job. Just pull out an extension cord. Very flimsy, but for $40. You get what you pay for.
Not impressed – It was cheap and it shows in the cleaning- would rather spend twice as much and get something better. Even though the pad is clean it leaves the dirt stil on the floor, so therfore i am going over it again with a cloth to clean it up- personaaly i think i will go back to use a bucket and vidella mop Dosent clean floor properly
Just a steam mop – After 3 replacements under warrenty the 4th unit tripped the circut breaker out of warrenty, however they worked well for a freebee but we are now worried the one we bought as a gift. There was no trouble in replacing the units. We will now look for something that has better reviews. Better thant the previous Aldi unit. Totally unreliable.

Not sure if it is really doing any cleaning – I hadn't used a steam mop prior to this one, so I am unable to compare the performance of the Optim with other brands. The Optim seems to work fine - the green light indicating the water was heated comes on and it appears to be 'steaming' the floor. I'm just not convinced that it is actually cleaning the floor! The floor does not appear to be… Read more
cleaner than prior to using the Optim. It would be nice if the floor tile grout was cleaned, but my manual mop does a much better job at this. Easy to use. Doesn't appear to actually clean the floor. Quality feels cheap.

Less than satisfied – I brought this mop hoping my floors would be a little more clean that just mopping alone with a new baby. The mop worked well initially, unfortunately, 3 screws have come loose, the cap to keep the water in has broken off. The mop still works, and I do like the fresh feeling after mopping. I will invest in a more expensive one. Ok to use on wooden… Read more
floors, only steams when you push it down, works well, washable heads (covers), cheap Cord way too short, breaks very easily (i.e. after less than 20 uses)
Looks good but is not effective – I purchased this Optim 1500W steam mop for arond 40AUD from Godfreys. This product looks great and I like the way the water lights up green when it is in use. The Optim steam mop is very light and easy to use. I also like the long power cord that comes with this unit. The Optim steam mop I purchased lasted 2 weeks before it stopped working and… Read more
started to leak water. I opened up the steam mop and noticed that the small hose attached to the boiler had split open. I replaced the Optim steam mop with another and it has been working for over 6 months now. The Optim steam mop works but is not effective. It does not seem to penetrate the grime and clean my floors as good as my previous steam mop. Inexpensive ineffective and unreliable

My daughter and I both bought one of these at the same time, loved them, but they both died about a fortnight apart, just after the warranty ran out.
