RUBBISH. NEVER INVEST – This phone is horrible. Very slow and overheats too fast. Cant operate phone without it dying. Its battery life is shocking only lasting up to 2 hours. Charging is very slow and calls just lag out. Not worth your money at all.
Barely usable smartphone – This basic smartphone is barely usable. As soon as you power up, the phone overloads and everything slows to a crawl. Its CPU is constantly clocked out. Forget about using streaming apps like YouTube, Netflix or Spotify. Music comes through choppily and video doesn't work at all as the phone struggles to cope. The camera and display are very… Read more
basic, think build quality circa 2011. The phone runs 4 CPU cores maximum 1.4GHz, has just 1GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. Screen resolution is 960x480 and runs a modified version of Android called Go, supposed to cope with the phone's limitations but in practice it doesn't. I got this as a backup to make calls, but even the phone calling software just crawls along. Avoid this phone.

unhappy with this phone – problems with the calls ending in the middle of important ph calls, speaker ok but to use the call without the speaking is very crackly,,, battery goes down especially over night , screen a bit too small, any games app clashes the phone and sometimes the txt messages dont come through. Review of X-Start mobile phone – I have had '2' of these Optus X-Start mobile-phone's, (both bought from Coles). And i've noticed the same 'PROBLEM' with both phone's... The battery life!... In just over 4-5 hour's, after being taken-off the charging cable, and being taken out to shops etc you know normal day stuff. The battery will show it's only on ( 1% ) of battery… Read more
charge! I know i'm not the most tech-savvy guy in the world, but a mobile 'should' hold a charge for at least 8-12 hour's off charger, for being at work on the job-site etc.
I don't know if anyone else has had the same battery problem ? As i said i'm on my 'second' X-Start mobile, and the battery still only last's 4-5 hour's, but for me that's ok, because like most people i'm currently unemployed... (Thank you COVID19) So i'm not out or away from the house for more than a couple of hour's or so, so it's not a big problem for me. (Other than the battery problem it's a great mobile-phone).
But when i'm back in the workforce again, working for 5-8 hour day's... Well?
Anyway... That's the end of my little review of the Optus X-Start mobile phone.
Simply terrible, but cheap – Constantly overheating, very slow, even with extended memory. Cannot play virtually any game available on Android; and wi-fi always playing up. Only cost $79 so I guess you get what you pay for.... Show details
Really not worth the small investment – Returned first purchase of the Optus X Start due to odd lines of colours running down the screen, obviously a lemon. The replacement was fine. However the phone is incredibly slow, scree.n quality poor.and just a very clumsy awkward phone to have this day & age, sorry but cannot recommend. Invest a little more for a lot more! Show details
Optus x start 4 g smartphone not – I've only had this phone for a few days and the battery drains after 10 to 15 minutes of surfing the internet. Has low memory so can't view much on internet. Can't hear the phone ring. Can't hear when I receive a text message. Terrible phone don't waste your money. Show details
