Oricom CARE620

Rechargeable batteries problem – Had a small issue with the rechargeable batteries and reached out to Customer Care. Daniel impressed me by listening to my situation, asking the right questions then came up with a positive solution. His follow-up was prompt and courteous. My issue was solved!! Thank you Daniel.

Worse than the phone it replaced – We were advised by some aged care support services to buy this phone for the 97 year old mo in law. Thing is, it was worse than the old Telstra unit she had. With this unit the screen was smaller than her older unit, making it harder for her to see the screen. Also the volume and quality of the phone was below par. It actually feels cheap and tacky and the buttons are not that easy to push for an elderly person. We ended up going back to her old phone. Total waste of money.

Not suitable for the elderly – The care 620 has no ability to turn up the ringer volume on the handsets. My 93 year old mother could not hear them properly so I have since replaced them with another phone by Panasonic. The description of the 620 model on the website did not clearly state that the ringer volume was not adjustable on these handsets.

No louder than a normal phone – Disappointed as the volume of the person speaking does not go very loud and we have to turn it on speaker and press the amplify button to hear it and its still not very loud.

Good product & customer service – Thanks Oricom! Nov 2020 - First bought CARE620-1 + CARE620HS (package) on the website. Feb 2021 - was happy so bought 2 more handsets CARE620HS, via phone, through their customer service hotline. PROs - Real Loud speaker-phone (for an older person). Light to hold in hand. 2 X one button immediate dial. (M1 & M2 - one press dial out) Great, Great Customer Phone Service at oricom.com.au. Free & fast Delivery. Ordered on a Tuesday Morning/ received on a Friday morning last week Feb 2021. Great Pricing! --- Currently still using a 15 year old Oricom Handset + saw great Productreview for their CARE80 so decided to give Oricom a try as a gift for an older relative. My older relative already has a "similar" Care80-Corded phone & she doesn't need all the answering-machine functions, so the CARE620-1 would do rather than the CARE820 base station. She also needs one in every room, hence the extra handsets purchased. Note the CARE620 can only have max 4 handsets (including the base-station handset) Since I am the first person to review this phone, to be fair, I have included below a couple of very minor points (which did NOT effect my 5 stars rating!) Dialling out - had to press numbers follow by Pressing Green Phone Button before the numbers would be dialled. ( need to get used to ) The angle at which the handset seats on the charger is more vertical than expected, so it might take 2 go's to put handset back on the charger. Not a big deal.
