One of our friends has an identical unit and we put them side by side and ours was the same at full volume as theirs was at two bars (2/10 I think), it was like a whisper at full volume when the baby was crying and there is no way you could be in another room or far away and trust you could hear a baby crying though the device. you would basically need to have your ear to the speaker. We further tested the parent unit by connecting the camera to the Hubble club app through the phone which displayed perfect sound through the phone speakers. By process of elimination this means that there's a problem with the parent unit's audio not working properly. As we were fully convinced that is was faulty (evidenced by comparing it to our friends exact same unit and connecting to the app/phone) we sent it away at our cost to be tested by Oricom to get run around further. Oricom tested the unit and apparently its within specification which I find absolutely impossible to believe. I cannot express how quiet the unit was, like a whisper at full volume. Either the unit is faulty and not tested correctly or the acceptable specified tolerances are far too generous and do not represent what is a reasonable volume to display through a baby monitor setup. The temp sensor is also 3-4 degrees off (tested through multiple devices) which we were prepared to work around with a stand alone sensor.
We purchased this product as its a mid range product from a reputable company, its certainly not cheap and thought it would have all the functions we needed. Audio being a critical function is not something you can monitor a baby or child without.
Currently the monitor is still with Oricom and to freight back an effectively useless unit would be at our cost where we would have to buy another unit regardless. we are in a very tough position without the means to purchase another unit.

second camera not even a year old – This camera is quite unreliable. I have had to have to camera replacement in not even a year as camera just stops connecting. the first one only lasted a week. customer service dont seem to care and just say the will send a new one. The temp control is really bad 4-5 degrees higher which is just annoying as it cant be calibrated. Show details

Parent Unit/ Camera: Good. App/Camera: Terrible – Have not had any issues with the parent unit and two cameras. pairing is terrible. Both cameras drop in and out, require constant pairing with the wifi (even on the camera that has a mesh router sitting next to it), The app won’t even create a QR code to pair the camera and wifi anymore. The app needs some serious improvements, this would not be acceptable if we had only purchased cameras and were expecting to use our phones as the parent unit.

Heap of rubbish. Great when it sometimes works – Camera disconnects randomly. The reset function is tempermental or just doesnt work. The temperature reading is 6 degrees out at all times. The camera disconnected alarm cannot be silenced while trying to repair or reconnect. My suggestion is to steer clear of this unit as it isnt worth the headache

Third unit we’ve been through! – Bought the monitor due to incredible, raving reviews but since being in operation for a total of less than 6 months (between all 3 monitors) the camera is so unreliable and has failed on us without warning for the third time now. 6 months old yet and randomly the camera has cut out and prevented me from watching over my child for the third time now. I tried resetting the camera and the monitor and absolutely nothing can repair them. This product has a 2 year warranty but by the performance on the first 2 cameras that failed on us, in 2 years we’ll end up going through 8 cameras because they seem to only work for up to 3 months before they completely die on you. The monitor also picks up that my daughters room is a scorching 31°C and this was the middle of winter! Our GroEgg room thermometer helped us stay reassured that her room was never above 22°C. It’s like it’s reading its own overheating temp on a crappy system. What a joke! I have called Oricom on the last two camera fails and all they do is send me a new camera with no other alternative as to how to monitor my child in the meantime (a week without a camera waiting for it to arrive in the mail). This is the worst baby monitoring system. I want my money back and I’m looking elsewhere for a product. So incredibly annoyed. First purchase from Bubs n Grubs online store and the last ones were sent directly from Oricom to replace the others.
