Almost inaudible – The audio quality is poor. Usually by the time we hear something on the monitor little one has been crying for minutes and or we heard it through the door.

A good basic monitor – Good basic monitor. Does all the things you really need. Our baby unit all of a sudden died- I called customer support and they sent a new one straight away.

Useless. Do not bother buying – This is without a doubt the worst monitor we have ever used. We bought 2 of them and they are both useless so it is not just a faulty individual monitor. One is for my son's bedroom, so we can hear if he calls out in the night and use the talk back feature to soothe him if we don't need to go into the room. The other is in our bedroom upstairs and is used when we put out infant down in the early evening while we are still downstairs. Both of them have no battery life at all (reads as low battery constantly, even when taken straight off charge) and both of them are constantly beeping and flashing to advise the room is "too hot" and reading 27 degrees, when the rooms are air conditioned and always 23-23 degrees (verified by both air xon thermostat, our other Angelcare monitor and an in room temp monitor by Ergopouch that all read the same temp). It means we can't keep the monitor on at night as when it lights up constantly with the warning it wakes us up. Additionally, they are always recording, so you have to deal with the sound of white noise the entire time. To make matters worse however, the sound quality is appalling - if there is any ambient noise at all in the room with the receiver, you can't hear the baby through the monitor unless holding it to your ear. We can actually hear our baby crying clearer and easier from downstairs through walls and doors, than the sound that comes through the monitor. Honestly, they are both so pointless we don't use them. What a waste of $260. Won't ever buy Oricom again. Angelcare monitors see far superior.
