Perfect – have had this for 3 years now. very powerful, does the job no issues. Hammer drilling perfect for drilling into concrete. Drill bits included in the package are ok for start but not perfect quiality. They break or wear out easily
Purchased in at Bunnings Warehouse for $49.
A cheap drill is just that - a cheap drill – I bought this to supplement my existing drill collection - to date I have a cordless Bosch screw driver and drill (it's quite an amazing tool that does much more than it really should be capable of), a heavy ROK 650w hammer drill and now this Ozito. The reason for my purchase was the Bosch doesn't have the power to drill into masonry properly (well not the bunker grade bricks in my unit's walls) and the ROK is too heavy and unwieldy for small drill holes.
I just wanted a cheapo impact drill purely to drill into masonry and so the Ozito fits the bill at 35 odd dollars.
It's cheap and it's basic. Make no mistake. This is no Makita or Bosch - it's made cheap and you can tell - the way the chuck feels made of recycle plastic, to the flimsy trigger, but, in saying that, it does the job. It drilled into the bunker-esque bricks in my walls (and to give an idea about how hard these bricks are, they have chewed through 2 Frost high quality drill bits).
It does the job and it does it without a fuss - it looks and feels cheap and it is, but if you just want a basic drill for a basic purpose like me, I'd go the Ozito again... I'd never dream of using this for what I used the ROK for (drilling into cement slabs or, on hammer setting, knocking out tiles), nor would I use it as my main drill (the Bosch does that - worth its weight in gold), but for a specific purpose, consider the Ozito... I can't see it being any less quality than something like a Black and Decker or Rockwell brand.
Edit, I have since chucked my Ozito as it simply didn't do the job and broke so many drill bits. Do yourself a favour and stick to Bosch, Hitachi, Makita (Makita is what i bought) for hammer drills - it is a completely different experience using a good commercial grade hammer drill vs a cheap and nasty one like the Ozito - the Makita makes holes in the masonry like butter, the Ozito burred and just broke bits and made noise. Price. Very limited instructions - fine for me, not so good if you're new to impact drills.
Great item for the price – I bought this because my main drill wasnt working. It is a good second drill for occasional larger impact work for the home handyman. Cheap and yet excellent warranty. Its a sort of clunky design in some ways - for example the switch that puts the hammer feature on is a awkward. Good power, easy to use. Price, power and warranty Looks a bit cheap because it is
