Pretty good for the price – Went to Bunnings to get myself a replacement drill after my old makita died on me. It has a solid feel to it and isn't overly heavy which is what I like about it. In terms of usage it does what I need it to do and definitely gets the job done.I haven't experienced any issues with it as of yet and could see myself recommending this to people who… Read more
just need a drill for DIY use, however in saying that I wouldn't; recommend this for trade use as the battery doesn't last as long as the makita's, Milwaukees etc... Also bunnings return policy leaves peace in mind as I know if I run into any trouble they will take it back and fix it quickly!
Not bad for $40 – The cons: - The battery doesn't last long. Was using it mostly for dry wall concrete but it only seemed to last around 15 minutes after charging it for hours. - Had a spell where the drill bit got stuck and no matter what I did it wouldn't come out. So I left it out and knocked it with a hammer a couple of times and hey presto it became loose. … Read more
The pros:
- Fairly lightweight, cant go wrong for the price
- Well built, not for the full-time tradie but for me and my wife who uses a drill occasionally (we put up two wall TV brackets) it served its purpose
- The drill bits were decent quality, although I bought some separate drill bits as well
Excellent cordfree drill, handy and reliable – This drill has been fantastic, we did have one issue but took it back to bunnings and they exchanged it straight away. No other dramas. It’s powerful enough and battery lasts ages. Best thing is the battery fits on our other Ozito products. Bought this for my husband for Xmas, great present for $100 Show details
So far very good – I bought this drill as a replacement for my Rockwell that died. It has a good heavy feel seems very well built a big improvement from previous Ozito tools I have purchased. I believe Ozito have been bought out by a European company Einhell . Although still made in China they now have raised their standards & Qa . I purchased mine from Bunnings &… Read more
it came with a 5 year warranty if you keep the reciept. Here’s a tip photo coppy the reciept twice file one copy & put a copy in a plastic clip lock sandwich bag & put it in the drill box with the manual. The bunnings reciept will fade & be unreadable in a few weeks. The batterys are a huge improvnent on previous models & the charger is also a quality item. The trigger is progressive & its easy to use as a screw gun several torque settings as well. Im looking forward to giving it a work out fixing the teak deck on my yacht. make sure you get the new red & black model .
Good for price – Firstly I wanted to say I'm a loud and proud Milwaukee guy. I've had various powertools in the following brands Milwaukee, makita, metabo, xu1, westco, Hitachi, black and decker, Panasonic, dewalt, bosch green and blue, 909, ozito, super works, Rockwell, worx, festool, unbranded eBay rubbish and what ever the rebadged tripe that Aldi sells. have used old school ryobi but I am yet to pop my Ryobi one Cherry. Milwaukee is my hands down favorite, a Joy to own and a treasure forever.
When I saw the 5 piece ozito powertool set at my local bunnings for $300 with a 5 year tool warranty and 3 year battery warranty I decided to put my marriage on the line and get one. I thought this could just be the very kit to lend out to the brainless yard persons who use your expensive tools to cut up pallets, then drop them and break them and leave them on your workbench all dull and munted and not say anything. Leaving you with an idle tool until it's repaired or replaced from your own pocket.
Upon arriving home I cracked open a few cans of booze and proceeded to call the children, (whom have all clocked more hours on my tools over the years than the baboons in the yard), around to show them what the bottom end of the tool barrel looked like.
Upon opening another can we proceed to unbox the individual packages containing what can only be described as............
A reasonable tool set for the money. Feeling a little embarrassed about my expectations and the reality I proceed to open another can and scrutinize the product a little further.
The rubber overmoulding on the tools and battery is a nice touch, They don't feel so bad in the hand, not the best but far from what I've experienced in the past. The soft start is magnificent as its no longer like wrestling a savage chihuahua once you engage the trigger.
The drill and driver are a little bit under powered, it feels like they have been dialed down to save the electrics. The drill has a clutch at maximum setting to protect against operator abuse and all tools seem to have a thermal cutout, also to protect against operstor abuse. Perfect for the less than tool savvy yardpersons.
The grinder was nicely balanced and was adequate for what we tried it on. I'm guessing a better disc would have yielded better results.
The saw was a surprise. The soft start and action of the blade guard was a thing of beauty. I wish my moves were that smooth before I get down to business. I doubt it will be super accurate but it cut through various hardwood planks without a problem. It will be more than adequate for pallets and hopefully a few digits of the monkeys in the yard. I tried a bevel but I'm afraid the result was absolutely shocking. I suspect it was due to the amount of warping on the old timber and the nails I ground down after a few cans not being flush with the surface. At this stage I wanted to blame the tool but I couldn't justify it. Will have to try in better circumstances.
The tourch is 250 lumin and it's enough. My bike light is 1000, 1/10 the size and runs from a battery pack that is so much smaller and longer lasting. It also cost about half the entire kit so you get the point that everything in the kit is made to a price.
All in all I wanted to hate this kit because it does need some refinement.but for $300 with a 5 year tool warranty and 3 year battery I was running out of reasons and cans fast.
I will have to give the kit a proper workout when I get a chance away from anyone. Unfortunately buying ozito is like riding a scooter. It's all good and fun until your friends and Co workers see you.
Cheers.
Ozito drill and 1.5Ah battery with Ozito Blower and Whipper snipper – I bought the drill with the 1.5Ah 18V Li-ion battery and charger. It has 22 ratchet torque settings clutch to slip the drive when the screw is in! Has two speed and reverse... I screwed 100 screws and assembled the Bunnings shed I reviewed here and had more charge left. The battery ran the whipper sniper around the garden then the blower. … Read more
