Great for camping for many years – I started camping with my boys when they were 5. We got the malamoo xtra and the small, 3 sec malamoo tent. 10 years on we’ve camped all over qld, from lake Tinaroo on the Atherton tablelands, Daintree rainforest, longreach, Cooktown, mount tambourine, and northern nsw etc etc. chillagoe, Coolum. So easy and and comfortable and convenient. Durable. Best purchase I ever made.
Ps. I read the one star review. We had one pole break at the side - I could blame the boys but it was me. We just duck taped it. It’s still great no problem. I love my malamoo. So many happy memories. I’m shopping for a hiking tent to walk hinchinbrook, but none look as good as my malamoo.

Great concept, poor execution and quality control – Great idea and pop-up concept works well until the poles break. There is a serious issue with the quality of the pole as they become very brittle which renders the tent useless. My first tent lasted about 2 weeks into a trip before a pole broke. The replacement did not even get out of the bag without a pole breaking. Some testing on the poles revealed that one was so brittle that I could break into small pieces by hand, while the other pole was so strong that it would bend back on itself no problem and I could not break.
Until they fix this quality issue, the tent is not worth the money. My $40 tent has lasted almost 20 years an still going strong.... my OzTent did not meet expectations unfortunately (and at over $300 too!).

Somethings Gone Horribly Wrong – Own a malamoo mega 2.0 and have been keeping an eye out for the next model hoping to see some improvements over the one I have. I thought my wishes had been answered when I saw the specs for the cicara 3.0 as it was stated to have a fully enclosed (zippered all the way around) front flap, which would stop the current dilemma of water entering the front vestibule when raining and stop snakes and critters entering the tent as well.
Went to Snowys Adelaide and because of a negative review on their website I set it up instore and found exactly the same manufacturing fault. As in review, it was also broken from new, the fibreglass poles were broken not only on one tent but on the second one they had in store also. Not only that it was exactly the same as my 2.0 Malamoo yet branded Cicara and in a Cicara branded carry bag...…Strange to say the least. No improvements to design.
Got refund and will never buy anything oztent again, way over-rated, its amazing what advertising can do and paying to get your product featured on lifestyle tv shows-good for company we however end up getting conned, Buy oztent you get shafted.
