Ours has been great! – We got ours new about 10 years ago for a family of 6 and thrashed it. At least 1 load a day. Sometimes 5. Has never given trouble although it makes a load groaning sound briefly in part of its cycle. It doesn’t seem to be the pump. It’s done that for about 5-6 years so I’ve given up worrying about it. Show details

Good riddance – Nothing but grief since it was purchased. A useless heap of crap. Tomorrow my new washing machine arrives as I kick this (Not so old) crap machine to the curb. Expensive. Poor service. Error codes. Leaks . Barrel doesn't turn. So much trouble. Off the job more than it was on this past year. I cannot wait to see the end off it. Most expensive fire.pit ever.purchased. Show details

what rubbish for the price – this was absolutely the worst washing machine I have ever owned, will never ever buy another Panasonic front loader again. for the price paid I should have gone with F&P or another well known brand. within 3 months of buying this had to get a repaid done and is only used around 4-5 times a week. my old F&P is much better and still going strong.  Show details

Stay away waste of money – The cycle times fluctuate up and down and the wash never finishes. Clothes do not come out clean. This machine is a waste of your time and energy, going to the rubbish tip. Stay away from Panisonic front end loaders would be my advice to anyone out there looking for a reliable product  Show details

Worst washing machine ever – I went to a front loader as we are on a farm and need to conserve it. The salesperson told us this was a fantastic washing machine and the more you put in it the better it washes. So not true!! Half the time the clothes are still dirty in places, it ripped apart my son's new rugby training shirt and on another occasion his football shorts and to top it all off 1 month after the warranty ran out the pump has died! So disappointed!

It Was Good, For 3 Weeks, 2 Years Later I'm On The Hunt Again For A New One – I gave this a 5 star when I first purchased this front loader. It was great, quiet, clean and spin dry was awesome until I found out to empty the filter you require a big bucket to catch all the water, it has to be done almost every cycle. It has constant errors and now I can't do a single full cycle, I need to do it in separate intervals, leaving… Read more

my washing experience hands on and 3.5 hours. Do not recommend. With over a $1000 on this machine, not worth it.

Don't risk it! Traps coins, causes damage! – Do not risk buying this machine! It has an internal space that allows things to get through, such as coins and screws, trapping them between the plastic drum and inner metal drum. These objects sit there and eventually wear a hole through the plastic drum causing water to gush out the bottom of the machine. To replace this plastic drum the whole… Read more

machine has to be taken apart and will cost between $350-$600 to repair. I also had a coin trapped in the hoses. $150 to have it removed.

The machine seems to trap 20c and $1 coins easily. So all up I've spent $550 on repairs and the machine is only 11 months old. Panasonic would not pay for any of this even though it was under warranty. They said it was not a parts failure. They said I shouldn't have had coins in the wash!!! As if I deliberately put them there! I do check pockets but obviously there were some that escaped my attention which I would consider quite normal. There wouldn't be a washing machine in history that wouldn't have had a coin accidentally go through it. I had a Fisher and Paykel that lasted me 13 years and could certainly handle an accidental coin! It's a shame that coins get trapped in this machine so easily as it would have been a good machine otherwise.

Worst washing machine ever – Similar to other reviews the door seal has given up twice and falls off constantly Clothes are getting holes in them from a sharp plastic edge on the inside The bearing has gone and is now an extremely noisy machine All this after only 3 years I have never experienced such a poor machine Do not buy one!!

I wish I never purchased this machine – Had this machine for just over 2 years and had to have a repair man out 4 times. Wish I had of kept my Whirpool. Not one call out in 9 years. Door seal has had to be replaced and is not covered by warranty. Apparently we were not using it at as a washing machine, according to Panasonic and the is our fault. At this rate we will have to purchase a… Read more

new door seal every 18 months. Door seal is held on poorly by a tiny bit of wire and comes off constantly. I am now a master at putting this back on. Little screws can pass easily between the drum and lock up the machine. Now just out of warranty the motor has become Un-serviceable. Luckily we purchased the extended warranty. Cant see this machine lasting to long before a replacement is needed.

It's great but customer service is bad – The machine is fantastic. Have owned for two years now. Took out the extended warranty. I love the 15 min cycle particularly for towels. My only two grievances are 1) the design of the hoses are awful. They cannot fit a $2 coin. 3 times they have stuck and we had to pay $140 for someone to come out. It's a 10kg machine- obviously the usage is… Read more

huge, and the likelihood of a coin being left is huge however it's impossible to check every pocket. 2) the rubber has torn and Panasonic said its my fault. My extended warranty doesn't cover it, I don't understand the point of an extended warranty. Twice now I've had to pay for something that should have been covered. Where on my extended warranty does it say blocked hoses or torn rubber seals not covered. I'm really angry with Panasonic and despite the quality of the washes, I may not buy their products again.

Do not buy – A warning for anyone buying a Panasonic washing machine door seals are not covered under warranty. To confirm this you should read your warranty book. So if this does happen to you within the warranty period........rest assure even if you do nothing wrong and use it as it was intended to be used Panasonic will not cover it.......so do your self… Read more

favor and buy some other product that does not have design fault........I was told by the technician when they replace door seals Panasonic have told them to put the spring on the side instead of the bottom to prevent tearing of the door seals. Our door seal spring fell off half way through a cycle. Yet Panasonic say this is not a manufacturing fault. If you check out Panasonic Facebook page regular in the section where people post comments you will notice Panasonic deleting any comments made about how door seals are not covered by Panasonic. To further insult me Panasonic have now sms me to say invoice on the way. Shame on you Panasonic

No after sales service!!! Gaps for things to get in and hold drum – I would never buy a Panasonic anything again, especially white goods. Trying to get service is near impossible and standard response from Panasonic is, yes we will get back to you in xxx days - after 3-4 weeks of same non service you would have been better ditching and buying new!. This machine has a gap that allows things to get into it. … Read more

Thinks as big as a spoon can get in which will completely stop the drum moving. Note this will not be covered by warranty!! Some model numbers had a mandatory replacement part, however, Panasonic only does this if you have make a service call through them! Very poor - avoid panasonic

Best. Machine. Ever – This is easily the best washing machine I have ever had. Its over 2 years since I fought it, and every single time if operates perfectly. The technology is easy to use, it is water conscious, it is quiet, it is fast and effective. I was surprised by the negative reviews because seriously, I have never in my life used a better machine.

Over it this machine is the worst front loader – this is the worst front loader i've ever owed and i lived in the UK for 30 years with them and never had a drama. had an LG for 12 years no dramas. This machine eats clothes and the filter is always blocked the problem as i see it, is the front seal between the Drum and door. its possible to get your finger between the seal without any effort and… Read more

have found hand towels and underwear jammed in there after a wash cycle only to recover part of the article which had to be discarded. Now got a fault showing as H 05 and only drains does not spin at all nothing but problems for the first two months. its not the powder its not the conditioner and please don't tell me it's the way i use the thing as always had front loaders as normally great machines.

consumer advice ....DON'T buy this washer

Frustratingly hopeless - regret buying – This is by far the most frustrating washing machine that i have had the misfortune of using and even worse, owning. 10k capacity is a joke! My 8.5k washer does a better job with king sized quilts. This machine can barely handle washing a queen sized quilt or any more than 5 bath towels in a wash. Sometime finishes a cycles but forgets the spin… Read more

cycle so you have to wait to do that separately. Cold wash cycles often finishes with contents rinsed in warm or hot water(!) so you have to manually turn off the hot water source to ensure a completely cold wash. When i first got it, i found that wash cycles started the night before are still spinning the next morning as this machine easily unbalances itself even on the slowest spin speed and with only a light load- such a waste of electricity.

It often unbalances itself with even light loads such as when we wash only mattress and pillow protectors. Has a 15 minute rapid wash cycle but it either does not rinse or spin properly so you have to start again. Wastes your time as you wave to constantly check on it and reprogram it or redistribute the contents. Avoid at all costs. Every now and then it will do the job but not frequently enough to be a reliable machine. I really regret buying this considering how much it cost. This is the only panasonic appliance that i own. Based on the performance of this machine, i will stick to bosch.

Unreliable, wastes electricity.

Don't buy this machine – I have so many Panasonic appliances, etc., in this house that I thought their washing machines would be OK. I had read a few reviews including those that said their clothes had been shredded by this machine. I thought these people must be making it up as front-loaders are usually much more gentle. Not so. I had my bras, one by one, left with… Read more

big holes after washing. These bras were in nets and the nets were left with big holes.

The Panasonic people came out numerous times, re-taking photos each time but said there was nothing wrong. As well, I have had sheets caught in this machine. I gave up until today. I bought special bra washing nets for the new bras I've recently bought and lo and behold they came out of the wash completely mangled and destroyed - nets and bras. This machine is a disaster. The only thing good about it is the 10kg capacity. the 10kg capacity It shreds my underwear, even though they are washed in net bags. Also it's impossible to empty the lint filter without flooding the laundry.

Very odd. I've had this model for over and we've never noticed any holes in any of the clothes. Just wondering if it might be your washing powder.

Scratchy towels – I was really unsure if I should get a top loader again or a front loader but eventually went with this model as it very water and energy efficient and can go under a bench in a laundry. The cycles do take a long time, which takes a bit of getting used to after a small Fisher and Paykel top loader. You need to read the user manual carefully as many… Read more

of the cycles (i.e. quick 50, delicate, wool etc) can only do between 2kg and 5kg, not the full 10kg capacity.

The biggest issue for me at the moment is that all of my towels (even fluffy and brand new) come out scratchy with a funny texture. I have tried everything (lower spin speed, less detergent, different temperature (no fabric softer due to the multitude of issues with it) etc) but nothing seems to work. I think it is because they are not always immersed in water and do not have an agitator.

Would love any advice on getting my towels softer in this machine!
