Panasonic NN-SD38QSQPQ
VerifiedMPN: NN-SD38QSQPQ1 review
This has to be the worst Panasonic product I have ever bought due to the front panel design. This a completely black microwave, except for a small stainless steel strip on the bottom edge. For some incompetent design reason, they made the front panel also all black with very feint white text for button descriptions. And guess what, no backlighting… Read more
for any areas on the front panel, but just a bright digital clock. Yes have now read other reviews concerning the lack of backlighting for the front panel, so it seems Panasonic don't care about customers concerns there, but are still happy to take your money. So unless you have bright spotlights running all the time in your kitchen, you simply can't see the buttons or their descriptions. So of course under cupboard lighting doesn't work either. That photo is showing a lot more text than I can see due to the phones low light abilities. So even if you memorise the button locations it will still be hit and miss to get the right one! Definitely not recommended for people without 20/20 vision. EDIT: Of course there is an alternative solution to the problem providing you have a 3D printer lying around. This is my first attempt at creating a label, but I got the lettering two big, so will reduce the size for the next print. You could also just use a hand label printer to put white on black labels under the touch buttons. Edit: I should add, after using the microwave for a few months now, that another strange design change that Panasonic created for this model, was to restrict the door opening to 90°, but not so on my previous microwave model purchase. This issue results in increased difficulty in trying to remove a large heavy dish from inside the oven, because your left elbow gets jammed against the door, forcing you to move to the right on an angle to free up your arms. It doesn't make any sense that they would stop the door opening to at least 120°, like my previous model does.
