Large internal size with large turntable – Looks great, and works well thus far. Don't really cook meals as such in microwaves, never have. Love it for reheating leftovers. Frozen veggies turn out perfectly. Love the power settings, Easy to clean. Easy to use and has many functional options. Large capacity and capable of taking large dishes because of it's turntable. This is my first panasonic, previously used Sharp. Happy with purchase. Show details
Very disappointed consumer – We had a Sharp microwave for 20 years till it died. The expensive Panasonic NN-ST780S dead in 3.5 years. Very disappointed with the product after only light use mainly reheating and warming. Heating was variable at times. Cool down process annoying. We will not buy another Panasonic product. Far better service from far cheaper products. Show details
This microwave is excellent – Bought this microwave over a year ago now and I must say, I have not been able to fault it. I use the microwave every day for breakfast and lunch as I work at home. Its intelligent settings actually work. The food is warmed evenly and its easy to clean. Its also HUGE and can take any dish we have. Some reviewers have griped about the cooling down… Read more
fan which runs after it stops. To be fair, all inverter microwaves do that as the inverter heats continuously at various powers and as a result generates for heat and needs to be cooled at the end to protect the components. Regular microwaves actually heat by being 100% full on or completely off and it cycles between those two states. This is part of the reason why they don't heat evenly. So I can live with hearing the fan after it stops for the benefit of how it cooks. Overall I'm very happy with this unit.
Very annoying Appliance – It heats up the food well but the most annoying thing about it is the cool down process, the cool down is longer than the heating process and when you have a number of things to heat in succession it slows the the whole process down. Even if you let it go through the cooling process, it wants to go through it again before heating the next item, many times l’ve wanted to throw it down the yard. Show details
Extremely short life – We bought this unit on 30/6/14 because we believed our remodelled kitchen wouldn't take our old microwave. The old one fitted so we hardly used this unit. Today we noticed the display is so faint that it can only be read in virtually total darkness - making it essentially useless. our old microwave (Sharp Carousel) has worked reliably for… Read more
literally decades. Why the difference? Presumably planned obsolescence. This is consistent with our Panasonic TV and PVR – the remote controls keep failing and we have to buy new ones at a ridiculous price. We will never buy Panasonic products ever again.
Great buy! – I am really happy with the way it cooks and the power level. It's easy to use with a good selection of functions. It is easy to clean. However it is really loud to close the door - it would be nice to have a softer and quieter closing function. Show details
Great Machine, Happy with my buy – Bought it from HN and as a advanced user of cooking appliances i really love its ease of use and large capacity to make meals for whole family in one go without any problem. You might get little problem to see its clock from 6-7 meter which i don't mind keeping in view rest of excellent functions. I always use my own brain keeping in view my… Read more
needs to buy anything so, i found some people dont like this product but it tick almost all my required boxes and i am happy so far with this product,
Best Microwave in class – I wanted the biggest capacity microwave with a nice finish that wasnt a wall microwave. It has been fantastic to use and reliable. Many excellent functions and large capacity assists our large family when needed. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a large capacity microwave. Thanks panasonic. Michael
Old one back in service – When my wife wanted a new microwave to replace our 26 yr old one I did say that I will keep the old one because I'm sure it will be needed again soon. The New NN-ST780S (Not the cheapest microwave) managed to last 104 days. The closest service centre is 25km(Malaga Wa) so a 100km of travel to drop off/pick up.Worked OK when working but as others as… Read more
said the Blue display is useless to read from a distance and our old one doesn't need to run the fan for a minute to cool down(It certainly didn't make it last any longer) Would have swapped it if I could.
Anyway the 26yr old is working great. ? Blue Display,Cool Down Feature,UnReliable
Great microwave – We had to buy an oven with the same measurements as our previous Panasonic microwave oven, so it would fit precisely into the stainless steel surround kit that is built-in to the kitchen cupboard. The only microwave that would fit was the Panasonic NN-ST780S, that we bought 3 days ago on 23/7/13. The reason we replaced our microwave (bought 12… Read more
years ago) was because of its faulty start button. It was repaired a number of times and had just started doing it again. That was enough for us. We didn’t really want to buy another Panasonic, but, as I said, we had to because of the kit.
Re our new microwave, so far we are very happy with it. It’s pretty much the same as our previous one, except for a couple of things that are not as good, but we can live with it:
1. Food has to be weighed when auto defrosting (our previous one was automatic – no weighing necessary).
2. Difficulty reading the blue LED display window/clock. It can only be read within ½ metre of the oven. It’s a blur after that. So to check how much time is left, you have to walk back to the oven and get up close to read it. We could see the display window/clock 5 metres away on our previous Panasonic microwave.
NB. Fan continues for a minute after the oven has stopped. We found this feature acceptable. First of all, beeps are heard when microwave has finished (LED display indicates it is cooling), then it continues cooling for a minute afterwards. In fact, we did not find the microwave noisy at all, certainly no noisier than our previous oven - maybe because it is built-in to the kitchen cupboard. Easy to operate – user friendly –sleek design 1. Window display/clock can only be read within ½ metre of the microwave - cannot be seen from a distance. 2, Have to weigh food for auto defrost.
sensor cook problem! – Have had this microwave for 6 months, replacing my old sharp sensor cook which cooked everything perfectly, including rice and pasta. This one refuses to cook rice and pasta for any longer than 4 mins! Frustrating. Now the door jams, am not a 'happy camper', the cool down is annoying and there is no quick one minute option that most other… Read more
microwaves have. Panasonic need to rethink this model, especially considering the high price paid for it, really doesn't deliver the standard you think you are getting. Should be able to sensor cook when it is advertised as such !!! Slimline look. Overpriced, doesn't sensor cook rice and pasta, door jams and the cool down fan is annoying, just not necessary, would rather a one minute cook option!
Happy with the product – Had this inverter microwave for almost a year now. The inverter technology means it does cook well once you learn how to use it. It cost too much but I am happy with the machine so far. If you just reheat stuff dont buy this one. If you wish to cook complete meals or food you wouldnt usually cook in a microwave an inverter microwave is your… Read more
best option. Build quality a bit less than the price suggests but better than most. I like the fan cooling after cooking has finished as I have the machine built in to the kitchen, both the machine and the kitchen will last longer due to this unusual feature some find annoying or just dont understand. The buzzer is too quiet and the clock is next to useless. You get used to the buzzer and I have other clocks. I worked out the plastic cover on the buttons was a transport cover but understand why some would not, it is not mentioned in the manual at all. The machine looks great in my kitchen and is large enough for anything I will ever cook for my family. It is very easy to clean. If this was half the price it would be great, if you ignore the price and want a microwave to cook real food well and one that looks good, compare this to other inverter microwaves, if you just reheat leftovers etc buy a cheap one. Mind you if it stops at 12 months like another simmilar product (st680) review I will change my mind completely and call it rubbish. Inverter technology Clock, Buzzer, price.
Frustrating rubbish – Firstly, no quick start. Pressing Start commences the lock function, so no 30 or 60 second blitz. Secondly, it's got this ridiculous "cool" function that it runs if the microwave needs to cool down. I thawed frozen fish the other day. When I took it out, the fish was still frozen, but it went onto auto-cool anyway. Today I softened cold butter… Read more
(for 10 secs). Even though it was still hard when I took it out, it auto-cooled for 30 secs! And the auto-cool sounds like it's still cooking, so you're waiting for it to finish, but it's already finished! I just don't like it. Smallest one I could find with the internal space. No quick start, and the ridiculous auto-cool function.
