When the hose of my EW1611 became brittle and broke after 4 years I couldn't get a replacement (unit was still running OK) so I went out and bought the EW1613 (newer version). The 1613 comes with two nozzles: -One has a soft orthodontic tip -The other has a normal hard plastic nozzle. On the 1613 switching the nozzles is a breeze. On the 1611 switching the nozzles was a pain because they didn't seal well, water sprayed everywhere until you rotated and pressed down on them a bit to make them seal properly (fiddly and messy)... so you tried to avoid changing nozzles as much as possible. It's great that changing nozzles is no longer a problem but unless you share a unit with someone or want to try different nozzles you'll rarely run into this issue.

I bought my last Panasonic flosser at Harvey Norman... but this time round they have stopped selling them. So I bought a different slightly more expensive brand. Boy was that a disappointment. The water pressure wasn't very high... and it got worse over time. In the end I had to return it. Fortunately they were able to find a Panasonic 1613 at another store.

I thoroughly recommend the 1613. It appears to work very well compared to other brands... and it's very reasonably priced.

Purchased in at Harvey Norman for $166.95.
