Have lost touch on food quality and presentation – Pancakes are thin and cold not as thick and fluffy . Poor quality food but charge a lot . My family have always been a big fan of pancakes on the rocks but lately the pancakes seem to have lost its taste and fluffiness. They use to stand out from the rest but I think Max Brenner pancakes beat them .
Nothing like it used to be – We arrived early, to an almost empty Northmead restaurant, and were quickly ushered to a table. We were advised to order our meal via my phone using the QR code on the table. It soon went down hill. minutes after sitting at our table, nothing had arrived. Around 40 minutes after sitting, the garlic bread and main meals came out at the same time. The meals lacked professional plating and were smeared with balsamic vinegar dressing, and other ingredients of the meals. This is why I didn't give a tip in advance when ordering our meals. Tips are for good service so why ask for tips up front. A group of 4 arrived approx. 45 minutes after we did and they received their meals within 10 minutes. Inconsistency, is not how to run a restaurant. As we left we saw a young boy, who looked 12 or 13 (early teens) in the kitchen.
Later in the day, a fee of $1 has appeared on our credit card statement. Also, there was no mention on how to print a receipt as proof of payment.
Money grabbing, poor service. I won't be going back.
Another great addition to an already iconic chain – What a delight a well run and very smooth comfortable transition from greeting to seating to eating. Having worked at the original Pancakes on the rocks, and pancakes at parramatta, Bondi beach and the movies, all later three closed. efficient and food came. Quickly, crepes Tabriz and crepes Greek are made and rolled in preparation in advance so just need to be zapped hot. Love the food drinks and site.
