Unbelievable dangerous failure. Front wheel became disengaged while driving when the newly fitted ball joint fell out - something that is supposed to never occur due to the likely danger with loss of control, safe guarded by a split pin for that reason. Terrifying event, and worse to think what could have happened. So my wife and daughter were… Read more
stranded in remote area. Pedders replaced the control arm and ball joint. Advised on pickup that the noise I would hear was due to front shockers being more pronounced. I followed their advice and replaced them. Completely unnecessarily. No - the noise was a stripped thread and loose new ball joint not put in properly. Took it back in and was reassured it had been removed, checked, refitted and tightened. Days later catastrophic failure. Add that onto attempts to "upsell" the work that needed doing, advised on their assessment that both sides needed doing when the other side had been done only months prior. Damage to car, >$1k out of pocket, massive inconvenience, stranded in remote area and lives endangered from sheer incompetent negligence. Absolutely inexcusable and unbelievable.
Great service they did on my 1981 Corvette. I recommend Pedders Slacks Creek. Show details
Great service by a professional team. Very happy with my horse float fitted with new brakes and bearings. Good price. Thanks Damien and team. Show details
Front brake pads needed replacing on my Toyota Troopy Decided not to have the discs skimmed and Toyota pads fitted as I tow a caravan a lot, and the standard stopping power leaves a lot to be desired. Asked Pedders Frankston if there were better pads/discs available that would improve the braking performance. They fitted ventilated discs and… Read more
Kevlar/ceramic pads. Very pleased with the result and the guys in the shop were very polite and helpful. Will definitely replace the back discs/pads with the same product, when the time comes.
Very Dissatisfied with the advice and service that I have received from Pedders Lawnton. I originally went to the store in February of 2023 because I was having some issues with my 2015 Dmax rear suspension sitting a little low. I was advised initially that I should go with there brand of heavy duty rear suspension springs as it would be a good… Read more
idea for the weight I carry but it lead to no end of problems with my vehicle as I had gone from the original factory suspension. As I was driving away from the store I noticed that the vehicle was doing a little shudder when ever I took off from the traffic lights. I returned the vehicle the following day and told them what was happening. I was advised that the issue was because the back end of the vehicle was sitting higher than the front end and the only way to solve that issue was to raise the front end suspension so it was the same as the rear end so I agreed to have the work done. Appeared to make no improvement to the vehicle. Once I had the front end suspension work done I discovered that I was getting uneven tyre ware on the front passenger side. I went back to pedders again told them I was not happy about this and they were adamant that it was 'bump steer' as its a known Dmax issue. I told them this was not an issue until they did work on my vehicle. They agreed to do a free wheel alignment for me. Some time later I discovered that I was still having uneven tire wear on the front left hand side so I decided to take the vehicle to the Isuzu dealer for them to take a look at. I was advised that the work pedders had done had messed up the geometry and I needed to go back to factory specifications to solve the problem. At which point I went back to pedders at Lawnton and said I wanted them to return my vehicle to factory specifications. They declined and said the issue was again 'bump steer' they tried to sell me heavy duty knuckles for my Dmax at a cost of $2500. I declined the offer as I couldn't afford it at the time. Come 2025 I went to a different mechanic and they returned the vehicle to factory specifications suspension and I have had no further issues now I have removed all the pedders rubbish from my vehicle. I am very unhappy with my experience from Pedders. I thought they would be more professional than what they were. I have found management to be very incompetent and unprofessional. They should have offered to return the vehicle to factory spec rather than trying to sell me something else. The owner of the franchise should be ashamed of themselves as they are giving the business a bad name. I would not recommend pedders to anyone! This whole ordeal has been a Waist of time and money.
I had a leak in one of my front brake hoses and thought blow it, I'll just take it to the professionals for a quick replacement. They took my car and returned 15min later with a quote for $3000 worth of work, including 2 x front rotors 2 x front break hoses and front break pads. Claiming all had to be done. I went home and checked the quote and… Read more
found they had quoted on a previous model to mine. I rang to advice then of this and they wanted to argue the point claiming they had quoted on the right mode? I picked up a pair of new OEM replacement break hoses from Jagdiam for next to nothing, found sone pads at super cheap and already had a pair of replacement rotors I had picked up from a guy on a forum doing a garage clean out. I fitted all myself for under $200 noteing that to be honest the pads and rotors were not to bad and still in serviceable limit. The post pubescent goatee brigade at Cranbourne Pedders are like most mechanics, will lie to your face and charge you a fortune for work that doesn't actually need doing. I went in for a replacement front break hose and left with a quote for over $3000 for work that didn't need doing. Lucky for me I know enough to know when I'm being fed nonsense. I'm sure, had I had them complete the work they said I needed. They would have done a good job. Hence all thier good reviews. Regretfully most of the quoted work was not needed and was excessively priced. Sorry I forgot to mention, part of the 3k quote included suppling and fitting a reconditioned ABS pump due to a slight leak. Thankfully I was able to pay someone else a fraction of what Pedders quoted to change an O ring and bleed the system. Probably all that Pedders was going to do in the first place.
The Dandenong team are amazing. We had great experience and they know their stuff. Show details
Took Car in for just a Brake Check. After about 20 minutes, I was told the Front Brakes needed Replacing. I Agreed to having them done there and then. When I had arrived at PEDDERS there was NO DAMAGE to my Car (Witnessed). (I HAD JUST CLEANED MY CAR inside & out - I am OCD and do it same day every week) BUT when I left PEDDERS and stopped, I was… Read more
horrified to see a SERIOUS paintwork damage to the Rear Passenger Side.(A long scrape and dent, with 5 small areas where the paintwork had been completely removed and 1 large area, the paintwork stripped down to the METAL! I (The Car had obviously been driven past something heavy metal which had SCRAPED it, removing paint along the way) I immediately sent PEDDERS an Email with 2 photos showing the damage. Later that evening, i received an email from PEDDERS, flatly DENIED having done the damage (it was evening when this email conversation was had. How could this Mechanic have known PEDDERS had NOT done the Damage??) I was sent a tiny Picture the following day from their CCTV camera. (Despite being told in the previous email that “EVERY INCH” of the Forecourt was covered by CCTV Cameras!) plus one which was the same one I had sent to them the previous day! Even when enlarged, the number plate or Driver could not be seen, the ONE picture just blurry when enlarged. The ‘picture’ was said to show MY ARRIVAL. Only problem was, the first tint photo was ‘TIME STAMPED’ and the time shown was over 15 minutes AFTER I had arrived at PEDDERS, and was actually sitting in the Office waiting for the result of the Brake Check. After another denial from PEDDERS, I went and did a Police STATUTORY DECLARATION, (as did my Witness) which is a CRIMINAL OFFENCE to LIE or Mislead, on. (I have been Driving for 40 years and have never even spoken to a Police Officer and don't intend to start now!!) My Insurance Company (See my REVIEW of Woolworths Everyday Car Insurance from February 2025) were useless. I ended up cancelling my Policy and getting another Insurer. It is costing me $1000 to have the damage fixed by a friend of a Smash Repairer. (Half Price) PEDDERS, YOU CAN SAY YOU NEVER CAUSED THAT DAMAGE AS OFTEN AS YOU LIKE! I KNOW YOU DID IT. NOT A SINGLE DOUBT IN MY MIND. (And I have have been told possibly HOW you could have done it!) However, I can’t be bothered (I have PTSD) fighting you. So gave you a REVIEW instead. PEDDERS?? NO WAY!!
Submitted a request online for some work to be done. Nearly a week later I received a text booking me in on a day almost a month away. A day that was totally unsuitable. In the time it took me to receive my first text from them, I had booked in elsewhere and had the work completed. Avoid these guys, better options out there.
First class service & repair – During my initial telephone discussions, both Tony & Paul COULD NOT have been more helpful. This continued when delivering my car for the necessary repair caused by the previous repairer who fitted the incorrect rear brake pads on our Mercedes!! Tony was good enough to provide me with the incorrect pads, damaged sensor and a comprehensive report… Read more
outlining the issues discovered so that I could follow up issue with the previous repairer. Additionally, Pedders fee was very competitive - in fact the labour component was half that of the previous repairer in "Berwick"...... I thoroughly recommend Pedders Pakenham - great guys that are very customer focussed and do a first class job.
Happy Customer – Travelling and bent the arm on my Predator tow-pro. Pedders in Maryborough were the best! So helpful, communication was great and after sale service awesome. Drove out to the campground and refitted it for me. Thank you so much Show details
Robbed blind by Pedders Geebung – Was charged 10 hours labour for a job that should have taken no more than 2 to 4 hours for a competent workshop. Failing to check the parts I loaded into my car due to the bill shock, I get home and realise the work has been done incorrectly with the bushes pressed to the incorrect depth. And this is on top of the job taking over a month and a half to complete when I was told a bit under a month.
