Peg Perego Prima Pappa Dondolino

not worth the money – I wish I never spent the money on this chair. It is hard to clean, hard to fold down, not easy to use and so big and bulky. Ulgy in colour also. that it can recline to big and bulky, hard to use, hard to clean and very expensive.
Terrible – I hate it and would never buy it or recommend it to anyone. I actually just told a friend NOT to buy it. There is nothing about this chair that I like and I refuse to use it much longer and will be purchasing another one soon. Too many little nooks and cranies which make it impossible to get clean after feedings. The eating tray sits too high… Read more
for my son to learn to eat properly with a bowl and utensils (he is a one year old in the 90% for height and weight, so not a small baby). I never used the rocker because it never worked very well and the music is extremely loud and sounds out of tune. The smaller tray is difficult to remove with one hand. couldn't use the padding for very long because by about 7 months it wasn't comfortable for my son.
Bad – I wouldn't purchase one if I had my time again. I dont even think that they look all that great. I would personally go for a funkier looking high chair or one of those wooden ones that convert to a toddler chair/kitchen helper later on. Having said that I'm about to have baby number 3 and its holding up just fun. A bit grubby and some of the… Read more
yellow has been worn away, but baby number 3 will just have to get used to hand-me-downs like that I suspect :). Its doing an alright job as a highchair but none of the special features are worth anything. It folds up and still stands rather sturdy - good to put along a wall or behind a cabinet. The tray table is easy to take off to clean, but can get water in the inside so really can only be wiped clean, not stuck in the sink. IT reclines easy depending on the child. It is rather difficult to keep clean. I went through all the little nooks and crannys the other day and was horrified as to what I found. Gross! The so called rocker really isn't worth the batteries you put in it. I actually took the first one back to the shops as I thought it wasn't working...turns out it was wasn't very good. We rarely used that function for our first bub and have never used it for bub number two. The music settings always sound like they are out of tune and are hard to turn on/off. All the settings are at just the right height for little kids to play with too which is very annoying when they decide to turn the horrid music on. Must take out the batteries!
OK – As others mentioned, the rocker doesn't really work. It's a pretty dumb feature, to be honest. The chair is too high to really leave your child in there to "rock" and you won't exactly be switching on the rocker while the kid is eating. That said, the build quality is definitely heaps better than many cheap high chairs in the market. It's… Read more
easy to clean and very sturdy.
I'd recommend the Peg Perego Prima Pappa series, but pass on the Dondolino. The build quality is very high; easy to clean; folds up small enough to set aside; music is entertaining for the child. Rocker is useless; pretty expensive for what is is.
Bad – Looks good and has lots of great options, but the difficulty in keeping this one clean is just not worth the effort. Looks good when clean, easy to move around and has many height, reclining and tray size settings. Rocker barely rocks and music is boring. Worse part is it is very very hard to keep clean, you can with a screwdriver take all the… Read more
straps out and soak them to get them clean, but how often do you have the time to do this. I used this high chair for my first bub, but trying to keep it clean drove me nuts, so I moved it on.
Bad – I only bought this high chair as Toys R Us had it on sale for around $140, so it was comparable with the other high chairs. I don't use the rocker feature or the music - mainly because they are annoying, but also the only way I could get it clean one day was to take it outside and hose it off - not so good for battery operated mechanism's, but the… Read more
only way to get into all of the little corners. As a basic hi/lo chair, it does it's job. However, the special features are pretty much rubbish, and it's near impossible to keep clean. Wish I had of got something more basic. Looks nice - lots of people have commented on the look of it. The music is downright annoying, the rocker feature is barely noticeable - didn't matter if it was a tiny bub or a toddler in the seat, it barely moved. The seat is difficult to clean as the straps are not designed to come out to be washed (but can be taken out if you are handy with a screwdriver!)
Good – Cons aside, I really do love this high chair and am happy to put up with the cleaning issues which really are only a problem when my baby has had a big chuck and I need to get to those straps. I wouldn't change it for anything simpler. This item was a gift and I am glad my family did well picking this, as I can be fussy with how something looks… Read more
and works.
Sturdy, classy looking.
Looks so comfortable! Well padded seat. The grey pillow insert is perfect for small bubs, even very young babies who can't sit upright properly, because the recline is fantastic, lots of positions.
Easy to use features - recline, music, height adjustment, trays on/off, seat straps.
Wheels around easily.
Height adjustable feature is handy. I use this depending if I am sitting with bub in the kitchen near the high bench, or lower at the dining table or outside.
So easy to take off and clean the top tray if you need to remove it to give it a good clean.
Nursery rhyme selection of music is good, with good volume control. All your common popular nursery rhymes there. Rocker doesn't work that well. I didn't bother using it once i worked that out.
Cleaning it - Taking the yellow cover off to clean it can be a bit fiddly. Food does collect under the seat which is hard to clean on a regular basis.
Same goes for the straps, they don't all come off which I found a pain when baby threw up EVERYWHERE and I struggled cleaning the straps. Ended up having a small container of bleach/water sitting on the seat and soaking the straps in them as best as I could reach them into the bowl. Also difficult to clean any food mess that ends up down the sides of the highchair
Excellent – this was one of the best presents we were given when we had our little princess :) would definately recommend them (sister in law has a older peg perego, along with my sister, and theirs are over 10 years old and still in great condition). daughter has now discovered buttons for music and volume... much to her delight... so it also doubles as an… Read more
entertainer. apart from the useless rocker (a bit of gimic) fantastic product sturdy design, neutral color (great for both sexes), dinner & snack tray, easy to move about, adjustable reclining positions great for little babies, and music great for keeping them amused for a while. rocker doesnt really work very well.
Good – Even though the rocker doesn't work that great, the actual purpose of a high chair is great, its safe, comfy and does what you need it to do, we got this item on sale so it was really good value for money. Very comfy for baby as it comes with the soft snugler, I had bubs in since she was about 3 months old because of this. Can adjust height… Read more
levels which is handy. Easy to roll around to different spots in the house. The two different size trays sizes come in handy, if you dirty the top one, you can just take it off and wipe while there is still a tray in front of baby. very good safety straps give you peace of mind if you need to step away or go to another room. the music inbuilt helps sooth bubs if she is unsettled and plenty of tunes to choose from so one song doesn't drive mum mad! The rocker doesn't really work that well, it takes a lot of batteries to run but to be honest, i wouldn't want bubs to fall asleep in it anyway, she is better off sleeping in her cot!
