Phat Chicken

They bought out a new potato bake and I said ooh that looks nice. And she said yeah and it's fresh too... she then gave me the dregs from the old one, which half filled the container. The cheese on top was rubbery and hard and it was barely Luke warm. The chicken shnitzle was soggy but hot. When I complained i got fresh potato bake with soggy falling apart, over crumbed shnitzle mixed in on top... not happy.
Terrible – Chips under cooked by a long shot would not recommend better off getting MacDonalds and cheaper to!!! And this is the new one at Morisset Show details
Normally good, but a shocker of a creamy pasta has forever changed my perception of this place – For anyone not familiar with this franchise brand name, “Phat Chicken”, is a takeaway & catering service business. As the name suggests, they specialise in what they advertise as “succulent & delicious” wide-ranging chicken dishes. They also have a range of takeaway & catering foods, including BBQ chickens, roasts of pork, beef & lamb, gourmet… Read more
salads, baked vegetables, wraps & sandwich platters, burgers, rolls, hot chips as well as other smaller individual chicken items.
Their window display looks impressive & inviting.
In the past few days, I visited my regular Phat Chicken retail outlet, located in Charlestown Square, NSW, and purchased one of my favourite takeaway dishes that they have, being the warm creamy chicken & bacon pasta. I’ve ordered this several times previously. It’s a linguini style creamy pasta which is “usually” delicious, however, on this one occasion in recent days, it was absolutely “beyond terrible”, & completely inedible.
They also pack it tightly into small takeaway containers & I didn’t realise how shockingly bad it was until I drove the short 3 minute drive home.
Upon opening it, there was essentially none of the usual creamy sauce whatsoever. It was “drier than the Sahara Desert” & when I tipped into my serving bowl at home, it fell out as one big hard blob of pasta, completely devoid of any moisture whatsoever. It was visually awful, & after one bite, there was no other place for it, except straight in the bin, with the $7.90 I paid for it, a complete waste. Extremely annoying to say the least.
In hindsight, I should’ve known not to order it, because even in the window display before I bought it, I did notice it looked unusually dry. You could just tell ! ! I didn’t actually see lady dish it out into the container as I was down the other end of the counter paying for it at the time.
I tried phoning the store to tell them about it, but the phone just rang out. I then sent an email to the address listed on the website. After almost a week, still no response at all from them, or anyone in fact. In my book, that’s simply not good enough.
It may seem harsh on my part writing a review based on one bad experience, but, as we all know, regardless of the establishment you’re visiting, dining at, staying at, or whatever, often it only takes just one bad experience to really foster a negative mindset and instil a seed of doubt as to whether it’s worth continuing to spend money or buy food at this particular place again.
If they’d had the courtesy and the business savvy to effectively respond to my feedback/complaint, then I probably would not have written this review, but alas, with there being no answer to either phone or email, I thought this needed to go one step further.
They DO have “some” positives, as some of my other purchases in the past have been good, and my rating in this review does reflect that. However, on this one occasion, they had a shocker of a creamy pasta that was beyond awful & overall, I think it’s a case of “they’re pretty good most of the time”. …. but NOT always. Purchase with caution.
