Terrible manufacturing errors affect performance – We tried one on in the store and bought another colour. When we tried it on at home the fit was totally different with our sons head way too far back even with the straps as tight as they go. We took it back to the store and found the straps were different lengths. Phil and teds have refused to refund us claiming this difference is a variance. Our sons head sits about 8cm further back, which in turn puts massive strain on the wearers back. Phil and teds have been rude and unhelpful. We will not buy from Phil and Ted or associated brands again!

Purchased in for $209.

Really comfortable and great for bushwalks – We like to get outdoors a lot. With our kids our pram just doesn't cut it for the types of walks we go on now. We racked our brains and asked questions for a few weeks before we were convinced that a carrier was the best route to go. After trying out all of the different variations of carriers, the bjorns, the ergobabys etc, we came across the phil and teds and found it to be the most comfortable.

Pros:

- It's got nice big straps that are wide and hug your shoulders

- We purchased the optional sun cover, which is great especially in the middle of the day

- It's really light and easy to use

I have to stop here and explain this. What we found is that a carrier is going to be heavy with a child in it. Honestly, carrier weight + child = heavy. With every type of carrier, regardless you are going to be working your legs. A common thing amongst all of the carriers we tried was that they're a little tricky to put on, especially once you've loaded the human into it. And then they're heavy because our youngest is 15kgs now. The escape is only about 2 kgs so, 17kgs total extra weigh on my (or hubbies depending on whether we're carrying both of the kids) backs. The bjorn came in at about 21 kgs - pretty much a full bag of cement!

So, we thought that we would choose ease of use combined with lightweight and that's what won us over with the escape carrier. It was too easy!

I could spend hours gushing over this product, how it's allowed a bit of normalcy into our lives but I have to end here.

Highly recommended!
