Don't buy Philips – Philips Kitchen Machine. 777800/1300 Watts The plastic material in general is too weak for the strength of the motor. - the 1st bowl broke after the 1st year - 2nd bowl is on its way out as the handle is starting to detach itself from the bowl itself. 50€ per bowl - the lid is also starting to break as the centre of it it is splitting. 23€ - the… Read more
centre attachment which fixes all the attachment and blades, other than the bread hook snapped. 50€ - The citrus press, I lost the central part. The replacement 50€ - The feeder, which is used to push down the food is not water tight leaving wishwash water inside trapped. It can only be removed by pressing it. Disgusting. Remember all part are dishwasher safe.
I've paid ca 190€ for the damn thing. Now, I either replace all the various parts, or I'll have to get rid of it. So far I have spent 50€. If I want to replace the bowl, the attachment for the disc is a further 100€. When I need to replace the lid another 25€. To replace the juicer 50€. This makes a total cost of more than I paid for the machine. I have read lots of comments of unhappy customers but Philips refuses to fix the problem. The solution I believe is to cut my losses, get rid of it, and never buy any Philips product again. Further, at every opportunity I will post this comment whenever I get the chance. I also bought a hair/beard trimmer for which I haven't had to replace anything, but the machine is totally useless. I wanted to replace my Philips iron, but they shortened the cable from 2.5m to 1.5m. They are trying to safe and cut corners at every opportunity. They even got rid of the little clip which is used to secure the cable.
The kitchen machine is made in China. I might as well buy an inferior product at halve the cost. Their reputation is going down the drain and it can no longer be respected as a serious company.
Disappointed – Heard a lot about the product. The chopper is great but blender started leaking in a year of using, and machine heats up while blending or in chopper function. The blade attachement of blender comes off easily so i had to stop using it but machine still heats up while chopping. Very disappointed. Lost the warranty, otherwise could have file a repair or replacement. Show details

Absolute Rubbish – Purchased originally 7 years ago. Apparently good brand and definitely top dollar. Blender leaked within first few uses, and liquid entered motor and burnt it out. Replacement unit supplied, but within a couple of weeks plastic blender cracked. Processing bowl has also cracked. Used less than ten times. Every use leaves a burnt smell. Belongs in bin. Please see pics. I wouldn’t accept another replacement model. Show details

Fantastic – I use my food processor all the time, I love it! The kids dropped the bowl which broke and Phillips were very helpful in helping me find a replacement bowl and at a decent price. Perfect – 12 months ago I became more health conscious, manually chopping fruit & vegetables to juice. I was given this food processor yesterday for Christmas and am completely amazed at it's diversity , time saving with juicing, chopping and dicing (arthritis and weak hands) and it's so easy to clean. Absolutely thrilled. Show reply
Fantastic – Still lots to learn about how to use but I'm loving it. Maxi juicer is brilliant for carrots oranges celery and watermelon. Chopping food processor is great for tomatoes, onions, potatoes, carrots. Not sure re grater for food processor yet-hubby thinks maybe things get stuck a bit. Blender great for banana milkshake. Still to venture into using other parts like the dough hook. Show reply

Disappointing – The smoothie attachment is rubbish. I have had this blender for almost 4 years and barely used the smoothie function because the blade attachment always detaches from the smoothie bowl. I bought a new blade thinking it was the blade. blending times. That doesnt make sense. When you make a smoothie you just put all the ingredients in and blend. So disappointed. I will never buy Phillips' appliances again.
Disappointed with the blender – The food processor and attachments are great, but after 12 months of use the bottom of the blender has become loose while using it. I was able to save my smoothie the first time and then I made sure the blender was screwed together properly, but the next time I used it and tried to take the blender off the base my smoothie spilled through the… Read more

Disappointed – The blender started leaking from underneath so I stopped using that application, which was very disappointing as then I barely used it. Unfortunately my teenage daughter used the blender to make a smoothie and when she lifted the blender from the base the blades dropped out of the bottom! Along with the banana smoothie! This is not what I expect from a product costing hundreds of dollars! Show details

Was good - not great but then died – Previously had a Kenwood purchased 1987 while I was still a student. When it died I purchased the Philips 7778 in 2013 as it was one of the few processors that allowed me to vary the speed. I was surprised that after 26 years food processors hadn't improved. The Phillips didn't cut as well was my old Kenwood - All soups required the blender… Read more
which holding less was a nuisance - the old Kenwood did it easily. This was very disappointing as I make a lot of soups and don't have a lot of over storage space so would have preferred to not need the blender attachment at all.
Basic juicer worked well
Centrifuge juicer appalling! I tried juicing grapes a few years ago... once tried never ever used again!!! The mess, it took forever to clean the juicer and I had to stop and start as it it jammed up with pulp. Useless.
Other attachments fine.
Niggles:
Grating cheese/vegetables - this is such an obvious task for a food processor so why cant manufacturers work out a way to stop getting a build up in the lid? and to stop that last bit wizzing about ungrated? The Phillips catches cheese between that shoot and the rim. A simple moulded angle between the two would allow the cheese/vegetable etc to wizz back around into the machine instead of getting stuck and compounded into this space requiring a skewer to flick it out each time.
The top of spindle did crack the top lid a little but everything still worked.
The spindle was also difficult to clean inside as cheese etc got stuck up inside it - but one got use to that.
Then it died.
I was cutting old fondant icing into small mock dirt pieces - not to much a a daunting task for a processor that should be able to cut nuts on a daily basis but no it just stopped working. No power.
If it hadn't died I would say it's ok - not as good as my old kenwood but not too bad, I was happy enough. I've learnt to blend soups and work around spindle cleaning but now really unhappy to get only 5 years out of it for that price.

Powerful motor but dissapointed with the quality of the parts – I love this food processor I first bought one in Peru and used it for a year with no problem. Knife/Blade Unit under blender broke, awful customer service – I purchased this about 1.5 years ago (so still under warranty). The main use of this is the blender and the other attachments are rarely used. Recently, the plastic under the blender broke and now can't be used which has effectively made the product useless. Disappointing Quality – I use my processor only approx once a week, and have had the issue of a burning smell coming from the unit. It is ok for small jobs – I do like my Philips food processor, however, I think for what I want to do-making dough from sprouted buckwheat-half kilo batches, I think I need a more powerful motor than the 1000W. Great Motor but not quality parts – I was loving this processor until a few weeks after we got it and the handle became really wonky. Its a bit daunty holding the mixing bowl and feeling like the handle could snap off, especially since its a large mixing bowl so it can get heavy. if it comes off it'll make it so hard to use. We just accepted that that's the way things are made these days BUT now there are cracks in the lid and the base of the bowl and I am not happy. We glued up the one in the lid because food doesn't really come into contact with but the one in the base, holy cow. This product has a 2 year warranty and we've only had it since Jan. We only use it one to two times a week and already the main part, the bowl is cracking, it's just not good enough and I'm not relishing the thought of having to deal with customer support, not because I've heard bad things but because it's not even a year old and I SHOULDN'T have to deal with them if the quality of their product was good enough.

Died within 5 mins! – I think this is a great machine - in theory! It actually died before we had the chance to try it out. The motor just stopped working before I even grated my first carrot and I am more than disappointed! We will return it to the store, however, I'm very doubtful if I'll get the same machine again!! A different brand might be better value after all.

Broke down after 45 seconds of use! – This is completely unacceptable! My food processor just arrived, and all excited for my first ever homemade glass of carrot juice I started the juicer, only to find that after 45 seconds the motor stops and doesn't react to anything. Spend the whole evening dancing around it, putting it apart and together again. No use. My previous Philips… Read more

Started great but won't last – I was really happy with the performance of the actual machine but the parts seem to be really poor quality plastic. guessing it wasn't strong enough as this is where the blades connect. There are also cracks in the base and around the rim.
Water gets stuck inside the parts that are hollow. A lot of water. The black insert for the the top of the processor (I'm unsure of the actually name) is sealed but not water tight so you can't drain it or pull it apart to clean it out yet just hand washing it over time I've noticed the water filled inside. It's gross. The best I could manage at getting any water out was to squeeze it while upside down and distort the plastic a bit so some water came out around the cracks. The same problem with the blender jug handle. It has two tiny holes so I'm guessing when it was designed they noticed this would happen?? The holes are useless and it's got old dishwater residue inside and I'm unable to open and clean it properly.
I paid over $200.00 for this at Harvey Norman and have only used it 1-2 times a week for around 2 years and it's pretty much falling apart. It would be fine if they used glass accessories but the poor quality plastic has made it such a waste and hasn't lasted. I'm not sure the broken plastic parts can be recycled either..... :(

Second time unlucky again? – I loved this food processor, but unfortunately my first one died after 8 months use. Love it – It is fantastic. There is just so much to like about this machine. I’ve only had it for a week and I’ve used it every day. The only part I haven’t tested is the juicer but if the rest is anything to go by then it too will be great. What do I like most – 1. It is so easy to clean. processor are lightweight making them easy to use.
3. It isn’t overly noisy.
4. The suction cups on the bottom are really, really effective.
5. The lids click/lock into place neatly as well as the bowl and blender clicking onto the base.
Oh, wait, there is one thing that I’m not happy about – the instruction pamphlet. It is one large sheet of paper with images that are difficult to read. With all the thought put into the machine Philips failed with that part.
Having said that, it isn’t a difficult machine to work out. All is forgiven Philips.
Was happy with the machine, but had to take it back due to lack of performance. See edit at bottom o – I purchased this because my seven year old food processor's bowl broke, and I wanted something powerful with a large bowl. I would have loved something with a smaller bowl included too, however this doesn't include a smaller bowl...a small price to pay for a great machine. I will say first, the box is enormous! I had to rearrange my cupboard… Read more
to fit in all of the different pieces - the base, the bowl, the juicer, the box of blades etc and the citrus juicer (see, I said there was a lot!)
I haven't used every piece yet, but what I have tried out I like.
The bowl is easily large enough for me, the blades are great and the motor is so powerful that if you pulse something it's done in no time at all. I have noticed that on setting #1 the machine seems to slow or pause (very briefly) while spinning...very odd, but not sure if that's what it's meant to do.
I have used it mainly for making muesli so far - it chops oats like a breeze, though it takes a little longer to chop the dried apple etc, and cannot seem to chop goji berries at all (maybe they're too hard, or maybe the bowl is too big?). It chops nuts brilliantly too.
I tried the chip making blade the other night. It cuts an interesting chip...not sure if I like it or not as I'm used to hand-cutting wedges. The kids seemed to enjoy the novelty of the slightly curly chips though. Again I did get the machine pausing/slowing down on setting #1, and it seemed to struggle a little. It was going so fast though, that I wouldn't have wanted to turn it up any further. Even hubby expressed concern at me possibly breaking the machine while making chips. ;-)
The juicer is fantastic, it juices so very fast that it makes your head spin. I didn't expect that at all. I haven't tried the citrus press however, but I will update this whenever I manage to use a new piece.
EDIT: Had to take this machine back to The Good Guys as it started doing massive pauses as it was being used, almost like the cogs were wearing out. After making a few juices with it, it was near impossible to use so we replaced it for a more expensive machine that could actually handle a decent amount of use. The the price, I am very disappointed in the quality!!! Large bowl, powerful motor, great juicer Setting #1 seems to have developed a little lull or pause during use, difficulty chopping small things (goji berries)

Died over nothing – Went to use the machine today only chopping nuts and dried fruit which should be easy for a food processor, especially since its over 1000W to find it wouldn't turn on. It has only ever chopped nuts and fruit, and ived used the juicer twice. I tried to jiggle with it a bit, checking it was all locked in and nothing was obstructing the blade and still no flashing lights. I've had it 12 months. Not a cheap food processor and not impressed.

Great power but Faulty blade – I bought one last year. Juicer is not worth the price, wastes most of your fruits. Power is great.
