Always leaking!! – Mum fortunately I wanted to love these bottles but the tit leaks everywhere from the teat rim! Very frustrating as baby is always getting wet around the neck regardless of bib if he is fed laying down. Haven’t had a problem with the natural teats, but in all honestly what a waste of Money now to go buy new ones. I was originally with closer to nature with my first, but because I breast pump, these fit my spectra breast pump perfectly and that is the reason for the switch. Very disappointing as these are on the more expensive side of bottles...

Hi Mez, Thanks for taking the time to review our Avent bottles. Do we understand correctly that this happened with more than 1 bottle? We would recommend to not overtighten the ring, as this can damage the valve. Please also make sure to pull the teat all the way through the ring, to ensure it seals off. If this doesn't help you, please contact our team at 1300 363 391 for further assistance. Thanks in advance.

Kind regards, The Philips Australia team

Great Bottles For Us – It was difficult to decide on my first bottles and I didn't want to spend a fortune. I'd used another brand when I was expressing but to kit myself out as I had to switch to formula full time would have cost a fortune. I found that the Philips Avent Classics were reasonably priced, available easily in both major supermarkets and worked well with my baby. We did have a fairly easy to feed baby with no issues of reflux or colic. Make sure you select the right nipple grading for the age of your baby, but other than that I can't say you need to know anything else.

We've been using them now for 18 months and I haven't had to replace any of them, including the nipples, except for getting a higher flow as bubs got older. I did find it pays not to screw the lid on too tight, or the nipple can't breathe to let the air flow back in. Its also worth investing in a couple of caps for mixing formula as the only down side I found is getting leaks from shaking the bottle with the nipple on if I didn't also have the lid on. The bottles, nipples, lids and rings clean well and are simple to and put back together.

I've read lots of reviews talking about adapter rings etc but my bottles were 4 simple pieces that were easy to put together and use so I'm unsure what they were talking about.

At 18 months my toddler is now comfortably holding the bottles himself, even when full of milk.

I can highly recommend getting a steam steriliser to go along with these bottles as it will make you're life easier when you're using multiple bottles a day.

I'd be very happy to recommend these bottles to other people.

Quality issue – As a regular user of the product for my first child , I continued to use the 260ml bottle for my second I purchased avent another bottle and found levels of the bottle somewhat offset and not balance in line as I sat them paired up side by side. This issue is potentially harmful for my new born as it would cause them being overdosed by formula at incorrect levels.

I can send the photos if request it.

This issue needs to be rectified by the company ASAP before anyone else gets hurt .

I wish to be compensated for the 4 pack of avent bottles I purchased right away. I'm prepared to take this further if need be through legal actions if my consumer rights are not met. A simple bottles replacements is not much to ask for.

In the meantime I suggest you consider a stock purge and isolate this batch of bottles.

Thank you for your enquiry, It is very rare for the measurements on the bottles to be incorrect as the machines that do the measurements are dedicated to making just one product. The bottles are made on Japanese Aoki machines (the best), using Swiss tools (the best). The only time we have changed the print in the last 8 years is when we changed from Avent naturally printing to Philips Avent printing. This did not affect the measurements, however even then the measurements were checked thoroughly.

The best way to test a 260ml bottle is by carefully filling 2 x 125ml bottles and discovering that this makes exactly 250ml. Similarly, filling a 330ml bottle and then taking out 260ml (into a 260ml bottle) should leave 70ml exactly which will be shown when the balance is poured into a 125ml bottle. It is important to allow for the meniscuses, which is the downward shaping of the water in a not full container or the upward shaping of the water in an almost over flowing container.

Note: Occasionally as polypropylene is a softer plastic if it is exposed to extreme high heat it can distort and give inaccurate results i.e. dishwasher (even on the top rack) or sterilizer that is overheating. It is generally accepted that all measurement devises will have a 5ml + or – variance, this small variance is in no way harmful to baby.

I'm not happy with the product. I already spend money on it and the bottle wasn't right. I didn't ask for a refund but what I like the company to do is give me an exchange bottles. I'll be very appreciate if you can do that.

Do you have an email so I can send you the photo? I don't wanna spend my money on the postage when I already paid for bad printing quality on AVENT bottles!
