I purchased this for an emergency/trial as all laser hair salons were closed due to lockdown. I was quite skeptical given I had previously purchased and used the Remington I-light and was not overly impressed with. However, the Philips has been pretty impressive. Previously, I’d been getting laser on my face and neck, at a laser clinic place for the past 3 years, every 6 weeks! This is due to hormonal, background (European) and PCOS which I just couldn’t seen to stop.
Now, this is a big statement and in no way is the unit like the salon machin...
Good, but caused hives
I’ve been using the Philips Lumea Bri956 according to the instructions , and the first 2 times went very well. The third time, which was this Sunday, I developed a bad hives case the next day, which is still persisting.
I contacted the customer support team and they told me to contact the local retailer and to stop using the device. The retailer is just a seller, he is not going to solve my urticaria or show me similar testimonies and also this is an expensive product to stop using it just after the third time.
I just wanted to know if problem...

Waste of money and time !
I have a skin tone type IV-V (mid brown) Wich is within the recommendations of this machine and that didn’t work at all . That was only showing that was not suitable for my skin
Below average product and pathetic customer service
I followed all the instruction for the products but was left with burn marks all over my hands and leg after first use.I contacted customer service but did not get any assistance rather than waiting for months with burn marks to get a response that did not make any difference to what i went through. Never ever going to buy any product or recommend Philips solely due to pathetic customer service.
Significant reduction in hair growth
I have used the Phillips IPL Prestige on my legs and on my arms. I made sure I have completed the recommended four sessions with two weeks gap in between the sessions. I must say my hair growth has reduced almost by 80% after the first four sessions. I have been irregular in the last 3-4 months. However, I am impressed to see that the hair hasn’t grown back much. I’m very happy with the purchase. This can be used plugged in or without connecting to the power source. Noticed that it’s quicker to use when plugged in.
Fast Results After 4 Treatments , But High Price
I have got the philips lumea bri959 model 9 months ago
i have used it every tow weeks for 5 sessions and then once a month, I start to see results after the 4 treatments , it have seen 60% hair reduction and i continue to use the device once a month and after 8 treatments I did'n see any noticeable hair in my legs and hands , i didn't use the philips bri959 on my face, maybe i will.
I like the result i got and i hope this result stay for long,

Absolutely love it!
This model came with 3 extra heads and can be used corded or with battery power.
I waited until this model because my previous expensive laser (!) device from the US stopped working when the rechargeable battery became worn out.
Being able to use this IPL device while connected makes it also faster than using it with battery power. I use the glide method to cover larger areas while plugged in. Faster and no need to constantly press the button to fire.
While the laser had only a tiny head, this model can cover legs so much faster!

Hi there. Just bought the Lumea prestige BRI956 a few days back and did my first treatment today
I wanted to ask why some areas on almost all parts of my body that I treated hurt extremely bad (i.e; legs,arms,bikini,underarms and stomach) Some areas on all these parts hurt too bad I was almost about to scream. I’ve read a lot about this device that’s why I decided to buy it and I don’t wanna leave a bad review based on one bad treatment so I thought I’ll consult one of you guys first and get professional advice.
So basically some areas got red, hurt very bad it was a prettyyyyy severe prick.
Lastly, another problem that I had which really bothered me is that the ready light on the decide turned orange on almost all of my bikini area even though I’ve read which areas in the bikini I can safely use it on and I made sure to target the head onto those but the light was orange and I just couldn’t use it on my bikini. The main purpose why I got this device was cuz it Callum’s to do bikini area (most parts of it) but it’s just not working on the area.
Please I’m actually stressed and upset as it was a big investment I made but I absolutely loved the device and what it claims to do so I hope you could help me get a positive experience next time.

Hi, I had a LUMEA FOR MEN. Wondering if i can use it to get rid of facial hair at chin & lips area? Or is it possible to buy the facial attachment accessories somewhere?
Hi Toy, unfortunately, it is not possible to use Lumea for Men to remove facial fair, due to the difference in its structure and coarseness. There also isn't an attachment at the moment which could be used for facial hair. We hope this answers your question.
