Great device for oral hygiene – The Philips Sonicare 3000 water flosser is a fantastic product. I had a problem with my gum and after using the flosser for a couple of days, my gum cleared up. I have owned other brand water flossers in the past usually purchased via ebay. Although they were good, the plastic nozzles split after a couple of years and they are not sold separately. I needed something that was portable and I could purchase replacement nozzles if needed (which Phillips sell).
I upgraded to the Philips and so far, very very happy with the performance, easy to use, easy to clean. I use the device at least twice a day and only need to charge it once a fortnight. I use the lowest setting as this is enough for my teeth/gums.
Convenient stow feature for nozzle when travelling.
Purchased in at Myer Online Store for $167.

Excellent portable water flosser with Li-Ion battery (in comparison with Waterpik Cordless Select and Panasonic EW1211) – This is my third portable water flosser purchase in a year, and is a keeper! Let me explain... First I had a WaterPik Cordless Select, which produced a nice narrow stream to get into the tight gaps and a reasonable 45-sec water tank. It was a good introduction to water flossing. However, the battery was NiMH and after 2-3 days of use, the water power and pulse speed rapidly dropped off, which was annoying.
So I exchanged it for a Panasonic EW1211 unit, hoping that Panasonic tech would offset the need to refill the smaller 30-sec water tank each clean; (their shavers dating back 20 years have had amazing battery life.) Unfortunately, this wasn't the case and the NiMH battery still sagged after 3-4 days, and when plugged in to charge, the charge light annoyingly never turned off to indicate it was full. Further, the water stream from the included nozzle didn't seem as thin or as powerful as the Waterpik, and the shape of the water tank made it harder to clean. So I decided to look for another option...
I was considering an upgrade to the Panasonic EW1511 which boasted a Li-Ion battery, bigger tank, more pressure settings, and stronger 'ultrasonic' pulses. However, the Philips Cordless 3000 caught my eye, and the limited reviews available seemed to suggest it was pretty good - other than a stiff nozzle rotation.
So after two weeks with the Philips Cordless 3000, I am happy to report that both my wife and I are very satisfied with our two units. The batteries have not yet required recharging, and I like that the light will change to amber (eventually - still waiting!) to indicate you only have three sessions left and need to recharge using the USB-C port and included charger (or any phone charger).
The motor has run at a consistent speed this whole time, and the high power setting is pretty powerful for a portable unit. The water tank is good for a 60-second clean, and the two included nozzles provide an option for a thin stream or a wider 'quad stream'. The other reviewers were right about the tight 360 degree nozzle rotating knob (it's also pretty small so hard to grip). But what I've found is that the size and shape of the handle is great for just rotating the whole device in your hand and is not at all slippery once there's a bit of moisture on it. The open cylindrical water tank and flat base of the device is also the easiest to clean - bonus!
So in summary, this portable water flosser by Philips is really good for battery life, constant motor speed, water power, having two types of nozzles, and decent water capacity. Highly recommended!
Update after 4 months. Still going great! My initial impression that the motor speed stayed the same for the first two weeks was incorrect. As I was getting used to the stronger water pressure of this device compared to the previous Panasonic, I had it set to medium speed, so the battery was not under much stress and the water pressure was reducing too gradually for me to notice over two weeks. The battery indicator finally went to amber just before 3 weeks was up - impressive!
Now that I leave it on full strength all the time (using twice a day), the initial 3-4 days is definitely the most powerful and I sometimes turn it down to medium when using the thin nozzle. After this it does gradually weaken over the next week or so, but still totally usable; and I've been charging it every second weekend.
Still a happy customer.
