Phonemax Q9 Mini
1 review
I received a phone as expected in nine days from date of order. It works in Logan with Aldi sim. It shows a 4G symbol in the corner with two to three bars out of four, which is similar to what my last phone got. I get a preamble message from the tower with every call saying that my phone may have limited connectivity and that I might not be able to call 000.
Every call or message so far I've tried to send or receive has worked. It has VoLTE. Hands free headset works in the 3.5mm hole. I've connected by USB and bluetooth to my computer. I've connected a fitness watch to the phone. It can play games with tilt function from the Play store. Music quality is good through headphones.
It's faster than my old phone, Ultramintt X3. Screen resolution and accuracy of touch is good. It has GPS; the reception isn't good in the house. The battery lasts only about a day or two. It charges slowly off the computer and about six times faster with the supplied charger. I like the phone but the message has put me off getting a similar phone in the future.
The following is the text message I received when I first connected the phone:
Limited Coverage - action needed. The phone you use with number 04XXXXXXXX (Phonemax Technology (HK) P2) does not support Telstra's main 4G network frequency (700MHz). This means you may have reduced and intermittent network connectivity and will not always be able to make calls including emergency calls to triple zero. To remain connected upgrade to a compatible device now. Contact your service provider for more information. If you've already upgraded your device, disregard this message.
