Pinot & Picasso

If I could give this company minus five stars, I would. I’m incredibly frustrated, but I’ll stick to the facts. I first contacted the Miranda studio in December 2025 to enquire about hosting my sister’s hens party. I didn’t hear back for an entire month, until the new year—which should have been my first red flag. When they finally did respond, they were prompt, organised, and helpful, so I felt confident enough to book for 20 guests in March.
I paid my deposit on 21 January for a hens party scheduled on 28 March in Miranda. I was told they would contact me two weeks prior to finalise details. Up until that point, everything seemed fine.
Two weeks before the event, I didn’t receive any communication, so I followed up—then again the next day, and again two days later. There is also no contact phone number, which made things even more difficult.
By the Sunday before my event, I was extremely concerned. After sending five emails (including new enquiry forms just to get a response), I decided to visit the studio in person. It was unattended during operating hours, despite being set up, with no explanation or notice. At that point, all I could do was wait.
On Monday, I received a marketing email—but still no response to my enquiries. By then, my frustration had grown significantly, and I sent yet another follow-up.
Finally, on the Tuesday before my Saturday event, I received an email stating they were “reaching out” to inform me that the session could not go ahead due to “operational challenges.” I was offered the option to move my group of 20 people—many of whom were travelling—to a different location in the city at a completely different time, or accept a credit. There was no apology and no initial offer of a refund. Meanwhile, the Miranda studio was still being advertised on their website.
This left us scrambling just four days before my sister’s hens night, with no activity planned for an event I had booked months in advance.
A massive thank you to Shiv at Part Time Ceramics for stepping in at the last minute and saving the day with a fantastic pottery session. I highly recommend their pottery and prosecco classes.
After repeatedly requesting an apology, a refund, and that they remove the Miranda location from their website, I eventually did receive my refund.
I would have been far more understanding if they had communicated honestly and well in advance. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case.
I would not recommend this business if you’re looking for a reliable and trustworthy option to host an important event
RED FLAG - RIPOFF! – Attended one of these so called ‘events’ advertised as a Picasso and Pinot event, pay your money, receive a canvas with paint supplied (bring own drinks and nibbles). Fine, except after enrolling (and paying) received a receipt for $89 paid for a Pot and Pinot afternoon, not Paint and Picasso which was how it was initially advertised! Went along briefly, could have been invisible as no one seemed to be in charge, sat down in front of a red terracotta pot and then the ‘teacher’ gave us step by step instructions…..first you mix your paint (duh) take a little red, a little yellow and a lot of white……really? And after painting and decorating the pot, we’d get to take it home…..oh goody! Left shortly afterwards. This was a set up for children, perhaps at most could be a children’s birthday event, definitely NOT for adults! They refused to refund the $89. This was a total ripoff and would never recommend nor participate again! Waste of $89! ****RED FLAG BEWARE!!****
