We miss you!
RIP aware sensitive. You served my family well for 30+ years! Such a shame this wonderful product is no longer available. There was no need for pre-treaters or softeners with Aware sensitive, it did a brilliant job.

Powder version is Great. No allergic reaction.
Loved the old Aware sensitive powder detergent which is non-fragrant but I can no longer find this product at woolies. I tried the new Aware sensitive liquid detergent which has a strong fragrant and I had a bad allergic reaction. I wish they never changed from powder to liquid formula. I can’t seem to find powder version in groceries anymore, sad!

Best for babies clothes
It really is free from known allergens, washes baby clothes well enough. Of course I need to pre treat stains etc. I like it doesn’t foam up in my wash and a box lasts for months and months because you only need a TBSP

Doesn't clean very well.
Everyday clothes, work clothes. The detergent is very mild at best. Won't remove odours etc. I don't have allergies and used it for a family member who insisted on it.

SENSITIVE ON THE NOSE
I have multiple chemical sensitivities as well as being severely asthmatic and this is the only laundry powder that I can use that doesn't cause a nasty reaction health wise for me. I use it for regular washes and normally find I can buy it from Woolworths here in Sydney Australia.

Anaphylactic reaction to the liquid version of this product.
I bought 'Aware Sensitive Choice' as we are on a septic. I am not usually allergic to anything. 9 weeks ago I did two loads of washing, nice dresses etc. I was so allergic to this product, I have had to call the company but still no reply. As soon as I touch or smell this 'scent' from any item of clothing that has even been in the drawer with the items which were washed in this product (and since thrown out- $2000 worth of clothes- a huge amount), my throat swells up and burns. I've never had these reactions to any other product and I don't get...
Read more anaphylaxis to any other thing. The 'scent' has gone through everything and I've virtually had to replace my and my husbands whole wardrobes. Yes I used to correctly and no I didn't use too much. I have reported it to Coles where I bought it.- Value for Money

Works great for eczema prone skin, but...
We have been using this product for about 2 years for our eczema prone son, but I have since developed an allergy or sensitivity to the laundry powder, not sure exactly what plant ingredients are used but would love to know as I may have to use a competing brand of a similar product as a substitute.

The only product that stopped my bed linen itching
Over the last few years I've found that bed linen itches me like I'm lying on cactus needles. This started with a new set of flannelette sheets would you believe. My wife an I couldn't understand it and we looked at everything from water quality, to me using too much soap (QV mind you!), scrubbing too much etc. They got a little less itchy when my wife tried a laundry powder for sensitive skin, oh and watered down my soap.
That's the preamble. So, a few days ago the bed sheets itch again and my wife says the online delivery substituted for nor...

I laid my face on the pillow and nothing. Finally, I can sleep in peace. I can highly recommend that anyone give this powder a try if they find their clothing or bed linen itchy or scratchy. Godsend!Purchased in at Woolworths.

What happened
I've been using Aware laundry powder for years, but have noticed the last three boxes (since they changed the packaging) don't wash nearly as well. Did they change the powder content as well? My socks and hubby's dirty gardening clothes come out just as dirty. Very disappointing, will have to find another detergent for sensitive skin.

Good for your skin and the environment
I use this powder to wash everything; clothes, swimmers, towels, sheets. I usually just tip the powder straight into my front loader but would recommend dissolving first when washing bulky items because those are the times I have noticed a little bit of remnant powder on things after the wash cycle has finished.
It's earth friendly! I love that it comes in a cardboard box without a plastic scoop and, most importantly for my family, it is great for sensitive skin because it has no harsh chemicals or fragrances.

The only laundry cleaner my son can use
We have tried almost every sensitive laundry powder available and this is the only product that doesn’t make my sons eczema flare up. Cleans very well in warm water (we use warm water so we can use less powder and have less build up in the clothes. We add tea tree essential oil to add a fresh non-toxic scent as this product has no scent at all. We’ve been using this for the last 5 years. It’s great!

Questions & Answers
Can I ask why has Aware washing powder has been taken off shelves, when it clearly sold..The liquid has a horrible smell..Thankyou..
I was wondering if you could let me know where I can buy this washing powder from now.
U can contact the aware company and they r willing to sell by the pallet (6 pack) plus shipping cost. Here’s the email which u can also find on their website, customerservice@awareenvironmental.com....
Read moreau There customer service also emailed me this a month ago: “Our Aware powder product is still currently available in selected Independent stores, such as IGA/ Ritchies, Foodworks / Foodland until stock runs out”. So basically, u can contact the company and they r helpful. I ended up not buying the 6 pack cuz I didn’t want to pay for shipping plus 6 is too many for a single person. I ended up trying other brands to c if I get skin rash allergy…..happily I did end up finding a sensitive detergent that worked for my skin from chemist warehouse called Ecostore Ultra Sensitive detergent. PS Aware said they r trying to get the Aware nonfragrant powder back in grocery stores by April cuz customers r complaining that it was removed, so until Aware powder comes back in store, I plan to use Ecostore. Good luck. Why can I not find your washing powder in any of the supermarkets? We have used nothing else for over 15 years. Safe for skin, septic tanks, the environment, our pocket and no overwhelming smell.
Can I buy direct if not in store happy to buy in bulk
Hi Jill,
I emailed them a while back because I’ve been using nothing else for my daughters clothes since she was born. They said the supermarkets unfortunately decided to no longer stock this item therefore they made the call to stop production
I also miss this laundry powder, prefer not to use laundry detergent in plastic bottles. I would also be happy to buy in bulk direct if the supermarkets won't stock it.
