excellent – had mine for three years, changed battery maybe twice. always worked as it should have, but mounted out of the elements. only issues have been tap fittings have been painful to get leak free, maybe gaskets or me is problem. 4 years later, has failed. reduced water flow, unable to stop leaks once removed from tap Show details

Long lasting and just works well – In contrast to almost every review here which makes me suspect, our pope timer has worked flawlessly for nearly 4 years, we also bought a trio timer and have had no issues. Either others have a bad batch or someone is Pope bashing as we wish they had more of these for sale as it has worked so well for us. Manual and auto modes, it all works. Show details

Hopeless product – Like other reviewers I wish I had checked this site before purchasing two of these timers. So far the timer seems to work for zone A but I also need to use the manual to water other parts of the garden and whenever I do zone A comes on too. Also the manual timer came on by itself at midnight last night on the manual setting and I had water… Read more

gushing out of the hose for half an hour before I woke up and heard it. Criminal waste of water in this drought! I didn’t keep the invoice from Bunnings so can’t return them for a different product. Not happy Pope!

Built to Break – It's impressive how well Pope has engineered this product to break just after the warranty period has passed. It leaks internally and no matter how much thread tape or silicone tape you wrap around the thing, water will find an escape. I understand why Bunnings no longer offer this product. Show details

Same as everyone else – As like so many of these comment I purchased it for $100 almost exactly a year ago. Seal inside has blown and can’t be fixed. Picture is of the product when it’s switched to off. No wonder Bunnings doesn’t sell it anymore  Show details

The best timer I've owned – I have tried many timers and for a log time relied on Holman but their quality seems to have fallen badly. I have now owned this Pope Aquzone for about 3 years and reckon that it's the best by a country mile. Initially a challenge to program until "the penny drops" but now I can slip thru various modes very easily. I love the "delay" functions: … Read more

1) delay starts during wet weather, 2) being able to run the sprinklers for a short period to "wet out" the soil then after a wait period, turn on the sprinklers for a suitable "run" duration. Touch wood - it has been a ripper for me.

A shocking product – WATER SEAL FAILED Worked really well for twelve moths and then water seal failure with water gushing from top Irreparable unfortunately Very disappointed with product considering it’s cost. Not available at my Bunnings anymore! Show details

Water seal inside timer fails – I have set up 3 of these timers over the last 3 years. I find them easy to program and the set water cycle operates effectively without problems until they get a slight knock from hose tension or a falling object. This causes the seal sitting in the top of the timer to leak such that water gushes from the top rendering the timer unusable. It cannot be fixed. This has occurred with each timer and obviously is an inherent weakness in the product. Show details

Top price, lowest possible quality - will never buy this brand again – I have had this product for just over 12 months and in that time I would have to power cycle it every month by removing the battery and replacing it in order to get the timer to trigger on schedule. After the 12 months the water inlet snapped from the tap which has no pressure on it but the water coming from the tap. Just wish Bunnings would stock some better brands. Show details

Failed after 12 months – Worked really well for 12 months then failed spectacularly. Water gushing from tap to timer attachments and no way to fix/replace or tighten. Completely unusable and very disappointing considering the cost. And as I’ve since bought another I’m now just waiting for it to fail. Show details

Aquazone dud – ZOne A works but no action with zone B. Screen says it is working but nothing is happening. Can't get either Zone to work under Manual setting. What a dud! Heading back to Bunnings for a refund! Show details

Should have read the reviews.....POS – Our pope aquazone duo lasted two days before failing like everyone else’s in these reviews. The solenoid for one of the zones will not open even though the screen says it should be open and watering. Seriously Pope you have clearly gone to market with a faulty product. Stop taking the p1ss out of consumers and pull the product from bunnings before… Read more

detrimental damage is done to your companies name. I sure as hell won’t be buying another one of your products again but you have the choice to do the right thing by future consumers.

Waste of time money and effort – I don’t understand why Bunning’s sells more and more rubbish these days, this is the third unit I bought and they don’t open the next day or two, the valve gets stuck, the screen says it’s watering but no water is flowing. Show details

Useless & waste of money – 7th Dec 2019 i bought the product, got it home and found it very easy to set up. Installed and tested to find it worked well. 8th & 9th Dec it worked then it failed the 10th. Bunnings immediately replaced it for me. Took home, installed, tested and as before it worked for 2 days and packed up again! Both times it was tge valves getting stuck in the closed oosition. Not going to waste my time, money or effort on that POS again! Show details

Replacement failed after a few weeks of usage – First unit lasted 4 month and zone A refused to work. Also had internal leak with water pouring out around connection A (not out of the actual connection). Unable to use manual settings. Contacted Pope and they advised to exchange at Bunnings. Did so without any problems but replacement has given up after a few weeks of operation, timer works but… Read more

valves inside don't seem to open. Had disappointing cheap Chinese timers before and thought I buy an Australian product. Sorry Mr. Pope, this is not a good product. Reviews are not encouraging to buy another timer of your brand.

Failed a few months out of warranty – Installed and working for a bit over a year without issue. When I went to reset the unit to a new time setting I found that I could only see a part of each digit so it was impossible to set. Changed batteries and was no better. deathly silence. Not happy with an $80 product that only lasts a year or so and the manufacturer washes their hands of it. Looking at a couple of other reviews it would seem others also have some issues with this brand.

Dont buy this unit – I purchased the unit 4 months ago from Bunnings. It worked well at first and then the moisture leaked into the LCD display making it hard to read. I wasnt able to dry it out. About a month ago the timer started to jump from AM to PM by itself, and tonight it failed altogether. These are expensive timers and the waterproofing quality is appalling. I only wish I could find my receipt so I could return it.  Show details

garbage – One of the outlets became intermittent after about a month, and failed altogether after about 6 months. The landscaper who installed it is now out of business, and refuses to replace it. A call to pope was more positive - they'd replace it if i paid for postage for the returned item and the replacement....which would be almost as much as buying a new device from a competitor... Show details

Pope aquazone duo – These timers are rubbish. Bad die design or badly worn dies result in the inability to tighten flanges to prevent leakage without the nut jumping a thread or crossthreading or worse as in my case blowing the timer of the tap when we were away for 6 weeks resulting in flooded.basement and many dead plants including prize orchards. Functionality is… Read more

as bad if not worse

1) Cannot manually water zone A without zone B being activated or visa versa

2) One resets day and time of day

3) Timer indicates water flowing but no water flowing (checked tap turned on)

4) On occasions zone A will water but not zone B despite being programmed to do so.

Pope timers are overpriced junk as I suspect all their products are as they are no longer an Aussie company but owned by Torro an American manufacturer of cheap garden equipment.

I have always bought Pope due to their quality but no more.

Where is Pope and their response they don't appear to care!

Not total junk, Lasted only until just out of warranty – Worked OK for a bit over a year. It then started leaking water from the unit, zone B would be constantly running water at half pressure. The manual zone setting never worked properly from new, (both zones would work at once. I could live with that). I stupidly replaced it with a new one as hose fittings were made to suit this model. The new… Read more

one failed from the first minute out of the packet, one zone constantly running water.

I got a refund at Bunnings without an issue for 2nd one. I am sure the first timer had a count down timer to fail after 14 months.

I ended up changing a few fittings at the tap and set it up for 2 separate $30 Aldi single zone timers and still had change...The Aldi ones come with batteries also the same warranty.

Fully agree with Gregory, Brisbane – Mine works fine as a single zone unit, but you can't set the watering days for Zone B to differ from Zone A. Eventually worked out the programming (poorly done, clearly not properly tested). I have spent hours trying to set up Zone A to water lawn once a week and Zone B to drip feed shrubs daily. Can't be done, the watering days for both Zones… Read more

MUST be the same. False advertising by Pope, if they sold it as a single zone unit it would be ok. But not merchantable quality as a duo zone unit. Pope should withdraw it from sale.

Died after 13 months – I bought this timer as a better quality replacement for another brand that had died twice. I wish I hadn’t. It started to leak after 12 months and by month 13 was gushing out and unusable. I would have expected a $70 tap timer to last longer than 13 months. Fails to activate properly; regularly looses memory. Doesn't switch off when memory lost – Purchased 2 of these for home. Took one back and it had replaced as it failed to activate when scheduled. Pope Aquazone Duo Water Timer – Just bought this and am trying to program the 2 different zones with different criteria in a cycle each. distinctive break between setting up one before starting the other as it looks like while trying to set up the second zone all I'm doing is overwriting the first zone.

The video on their website for the timers is next to useless, doesn't show how to set up anything at all for any of the timers, although is gives a quick split second shot of the guy moving the dial on the cheaper single outlet timer, without actually really seeing what he is doing, nor any discussion of the choices.

Really disappointed with Pope. I don't want anything Holman as they are all junk, my only other choice appears to be Gardena.

Did work well until major condensation buildup in controller electronics – Worked great for 13 months (yep just out of warranty). Programming interface is confusing and probably reason for other comments. BUT, the electronic controller is not sealed well and now has a film of water over the LCD (probably from condensation) and it has started to work intermittently. So, into the bin and back to manual control.

May as well be a single tap timer – The first unit failed out of the box. No problems as Bunnings replaced it. The replacement works. It is well made and looks to be a quality unit. The menue structure is easy to follow. The instructions are too brief and not so easy to follow. Pope should have written the instructions with steps insead of having to guess where you are up to. … Read more

My issue is that with 2 outlets I expected to have 2 completely different timer functions.

While the times for each outlet can be different the days can't.

This means that you have to water on the same day for each zone.

I can't understand why Pope would do all the R&D on the product and not have individual days as an option.

If I had known about this short coming I would have purchased another brand or 2 single timers.

I called the Pope help line to clarify the issue. The helpfull lady on the other end of the line was well aware of the issue.

Will I continue to purchase Pope products, Yes.

Am I happy with this particular product, No.
