Pope Aquazone Trio Tap Timer

I Hate Leaky Timers – I've had this garden timer for a few years and found that if left in the bright sunlight, it stops working because the timer resets all the times to zero. I put a cover over it and it solved the problem. Now I find that when the timers are off, water leaks out of 2 of the 3 outlets constantly. OFF IS SUPPOSED TO BE OFF. For a timer over $100, I expected better quality out of a POPE product. Truly disappointing. Show details

worked for 4-5 years so far – Installed this 4 or 5 years ago and ran no probs on one set of batteries. Replaced batteries today. After wierd everything-flashing, rebooted and got normal screen with previous settings
Great trouble free timer, why are these not available any more Pope? – Has worked perfectly & suited my needs for the last three years, I now need another one for a different part of the garden. Why are they now a discontinued product Pope? Show details · 1
Great Tap Timer – I bought 2 of these from Bunnings and they have worked perfectly for over 15 months. They are fairly easy to program and change if/when needed. I went to buy another one and was disappointed to find they are no longer available. Show details

Frustrated watering – I’ve got 2 units screen flickers even with new batteries now one won’t release water. Good when they work but seems to be issues with electrics.
Once turned off, will not reset for purpose! Poor product – Worked perfectly until I turned it off during wet weather. Now it will not reset, start, do anything except be inert. Will not let water through.
Pope reputation going down the drain!! – Just started the second year of using. Let’s see how it goes I had to block off 2 outlets as they all came on together. It’s disappointing to buy a Pope product that proves to be TOTALLY unreliable!! Show details

Good value, especially if undercover – I bought 2, the one that is stationed on a tap on the enclosed verandah is still going, must be at least 5 years, the other one out in the elements lasted about 3 years. Still good value. Show details
Disappointing – I bought two Pope Aquazone Trios five years ago. One is still working well on all 3 outlets (so far). The other will now not operate reliably at all after giving good service until the past month. It clicks and indicates that the water is flowing at the correct time, but no water comes out. Obviously the valve is not actuating sufficiently. I… Read more
tried manual control and that is completely hit or miss; I set up for A on manual and water gushes out of B or C, not A or maybe no outlets at all. The electronics are clearly deranged. It is a pity about the poor quality because the concept is very good, the batteries last a year or more and I still have one unit working. I really would have expected a life of ten years out of this kind of product. I have other similar garden products that have been working well for over 15 years. I'm going away for a few weeks soon and will have to find a replacement to keep the garden alive. Update: I took the non-working unit back to Bunnings and received a new unit of my choice and a credit for the difference in price. I thank Bunnings for their good service under the Australian Consumer Law in honouring the warranty.
This has been great for 4 years – Brilliant as you can time individual days and twice a day ( Tuesday and Friday being my water days) and a spare outlet for a hose. But has started to leak from the neck, like so many of the reviews have stated. I cannot seem to find another that will give me 2 outlets working on tues, Fri, both morning and evening at seperate times( as water… Read more
pressure not brilliant for 7 retic heads at once) has anybody found a new one that can do all this. Thanks Dean
Not robust enough – Sick of spending good money every 2 years for a new timer. All brands seem to have poor durability. In the third year (today) the screen shows everything is fine but no water comes out. Show details
Leaks from neck – This is the second unit I have purchased. I do love the unit itself but after a year or so it starts to leak around the neck of the unit. You can't fix it. Second one purchased Nov 2019 and now doing same thing as first one. Show details
Good when it works correctly! – This timer system can be great and work perfectly but then it is also completely unreliable. It sometimes just doesn’t let water through even though it looks like it is according to the screen. It keeps losing the correct time so the water doesn’t come on at the right time. Lately even though it’s set to ‘off’ it’s been coming on randomly! It’s… Read more
very annoying that it’s unreliable because the program options are good and having three zones is useful.

Leaks – Worked well for about a year. All I did was change the batteries. Then started leaking from around the tap, so leaked all the time unless the tap was turned off. I changed the washer, but this did not fix the issue. Studied the leak. Water was not inside the body. Water was not coming out from the tap thread. So the only source of the leak must be… Read more
from the neck. Tried to pull neck apart, but it is either weld glued, or snap locked together. So basically have a useless tap timer. Found out they are discontinued. It was a good product while it worked. Will try other brands first now.
3 years on and going perfect – Not sure why there are so many bad reviews, we have had zero faults and this system has been running while we’re on holidays, we use the manual mode when needed. Absolutely no issues, we have this and a dual, both going strong. Show details · 4
Nothing works – No matter what I do all outlets come on at the same time no matter what time I turn the tap on. All units should be recalled and money returned. Show details
Very good product at reasonable price – I have been using three of these for longer than 3 years. All of them working in perfect order. Not a single time missed a bit!! All three outside in sun but still perfect. Big thanks to Pope for saving me hundreds of dollars on garden irrigation. Show details
Too bad it didn't last 12 months – I've had this for 354 days... And it's been pretty good... Until the water wouldn't turn on. Replaced batteries but still nothing. I found the unit easy to use once you get use to the menu. I could flick through it quite happily and set almost any program I like. I actually really liked the unit, until it failed. My wife on the other hand… Read more
absolutely hated it and couldn't get it to turn on manually. She really hated it! My kids struggled with the menu system and would often turn off my automatic program when they were trying to get it to turn on manually. Bunnings happily accepted it as a return as I had my receipt (a photo of it on my phone). I'm sad to see it go...
About to install – I'm about to install a aquazone trio but reading all of the reviews I'm hesitant. I'm thinking I may install with some kind of cover as it appears that they don't handle outside exposure too well. I'm guessing the electronics is not very well protected. A water pressure of 800kPa would be absolutely dangerous and I done know of any domestic… Read more
supply that would be set at that level. Like most products made in Asia there are concerns with quality but I remain optimistic and will report back later. Would like to know the purpose of the tree pin electrical connection in the base of the unit? not mentioned in instructions.
Broke after nine months – Water stopped running after nine months. Call Pope. They said take it back and get a refund. Keep the receipt. If I keep writing I'll finally make it to thirty words! Show details
Nearly Perfect ! – Have had this AuqaTrio for 14months and has never missed a beat. Only problem I have I can't seem to get it to water on separate zones. A & B cycles come on at the same time Show details · 2
I love it! – Always been a bit sceptical of auto tap timers but this is brilliant. So easy to use, I love the intervals. It is so good. My garden is getting watered overnight, its so good. Show details

You have to persevere – I have had 2 of the timers for more than 2 years. One is still working OK. The second became unreliable a few months ago. As it was out of warranty, I purchased another ($89). Hopeless! The solenoid valves made a clicking noise, but no water came out. Returned it to Bunnings for another. Same deal, no water. Returned it, exchanged for a Holman 4… Read more
station ($164). Only 2 of 4 valves worked. Returned it also. I decided to try another Pope Trio as there is nothing else available with 3 stations. Success, it worked the same as the original. I think Pope is using it's customers a testers. The Trio is a great idea with bad quality control. Keep trying until you get a good one.
Worst unit on the market! – We purchased two of these and have experienced the same problems as others have reported. Both units failed within a couple of months of purchasing.. Absolute duds! We have purchased Pope garden stuff for years but have moved to other brands since this experience and wont be buying Pope brand any more. Show details
TOTAL RUBBISH! Product has never functioned correctly – Purchased a AquaZone Trio in 2018, it has never functioned despite spending hours on the Pope web site and crouched over the bloody thing in the backyard. Decided to try again today but found these reviews that indicate my unit is not an isolated failure. Can't trust this product. Show details
NOT WATERPROOF - ABSOLUTE RUBBISH – It is not waterproof and works for about 3 weeks then is completely unusable. Complete rubbish. Absolute waste of $100. Avoid this product at all costs. Pope - what garbage they make. Show details
Can't trust the unit – I had purchased acqa trio in Nov 2019 and it was working till Jan 2020. One of the unit display went off. I replaced battery but it still flashing. Went to bunnings and got replaced. But after 4 weeks both of the units stopped working despite displays on both are working. I checked with manual operation but it also did not let the water flow.… Read more
Seems the valve not working. I had managemanaged to replace one of them yesterday but i misplaced receipt of second and bunnings denied for replacement... Can't trust this unit..
Disappointed! – I have just taken one of these back to supplier and get a refund as there were none in stock. Two of the three outlets worked, the middle one didn't on the timer settings - it did work on manual! I've have had previous frustrating episodes with these timers and only by changing my taps from valve and seat type to a hose cocktype could I get them… Read more
to work. I have checked the water pressure and it is within stated tolerances. The only way I could get one of them to hold its settings was to shade it from direct sunlight so that it did not get too hot. Even then it lost the plot once.
Works great – I bought the Aquazone water timer from Bunnings. At first I had a little problem setting it up, but the instructions helped me fix it and it has been running fault free for over 12 months. Show details
Not reliable – Worked great for 2 weeks. Then tap stopped letting water through! Panel said it was on but the mechanism inside didn’t release water. Bunnings swapped it over for new. Same thing happened again! They got in contact with customer service.... and they said that Pope customer care has never heard of this happening before! Clearly after reading these… Read more
reviews... they have come across this before... as many people have complained.... and they have replied to the complaints! I think someone is telling fibs! I guess I just have to keep on exchanging every few months!

Cant keep the correct time – I've had this for about 6 months, worked fine for first couple of weeks then the time reset to about 12H difference. changed the batteries to new ones again but its a recurring fault. I thought Pope was a good brand but have lost the Bunnings receipt so will just throw it out and look for a better brand, waste of $100. Show details

DO NOT BUY! – Tested it in manual mode and it worked fine. Programmed it, worked fine, then went to adjust the times and it stopped working. Just makes a noise like a solenoid is trying to open. Show details
Had enough – Have the trio timer and double. For some reason they stop working. Take it off, put it back on and may work for abit. Will be ringing pope. Saw state manager at Bunnings and discussed another problem, leaking. Said it shouldn't happen. Took it back to Bunnings and got a new one. Was over 12 months old. He was very helpful Show details
First one didn’t work out of the box second one stopped week 1 - piece of junk! – Very disappointed in POPE - the programming is easy - but they are unreliability and don’t work after the first time. - I left to go on 2 weeks holidays came back to a dead garden. $5000 in Plants - shame on you!!
