helped me out.. great customer support – after many years, mine eventually leaked from the connection area. I tried fixing it, but couldn't, and I couldn't find the part online. Despite being well out of warranty, and the model being replaced/upgraded, pope/toro went to the effort of finding/sending me a compatible replacement part.. i didn't expect them to help, because anything will eventually crumble under our aussie sun.. but this shows (imo) that they do care about the environment/landfil, and stand behind their parts/customers.
(p.s. the leak may have been my fault somewhat, because I didn't initially realise you should avoid using teflon tape on plastic connections that have washers inside.. it can over-stress them apparently).

Not fir for purpose in WA – The timer has "1st day, 2nd day, 3rd day, 4th day, 5th day, 6th day, 7th day" as the options to set the frequency. When purchasing it, the assumption is that you can set it to which ever day of the week you wish to have the sprinklers on. Not so. you can set it to every day, every 2nd day, every 3rd day, etc... This is not explained externally on the packet. This is of no use in WA, where you have 2 set watering days depending on your street number. Yet Bunnings still sell it here.

Don't go near one. Try something else – I bought one and it seemed OK so I bought another. At over 18 months on started leaking and shortly after the other did the same. When I opened them they were leaking at the exact same point in a joined plastic casting. An obvious weak spot - whether a built in one I can't tell. For the money things should be expected to work reliably for longer than this.

It does work – It does work. But.... Graphics - Grey on Grey not good in low light conditions Non intuitive (Instructions are online) - Delay button - without consulting instructions, what does it do? - Battery light - it flashes but it is not clear what the flashing means (flash frequencies mean different things). - control module is a snap fit (this became evident after unscrewing solenoid case) Internal design decisions very poor: - clip off control module connected to solenoid wiring by RCA type plug (reliability?) - battery container held in by 2 small screws (difficult to unscrew & easy to lose) - battery container gasket not unidirectional and assembly is a poor fit - only serviceable part is battery (it should be accessible without tools) Connection to tap is straightforward. 'Frequency' and 'Run Time' click dials are a simple good start but Pope should throw out most of the design and start with a clean sheet of paper
