were all invaluable with helping us achieve our vision. The installation process with Fred and his team was smooth and seamless and their attention to detail impeccable. The team’s experience was obvious as they came up with new ideas and tweaks along the way, in order for us to achieve the best possible product for us. No problem was ever too big or small for Fred and Peter and their communication throughout was excellent.
Premier Kitchens Willoughby provided us with our dream kitchen and we couldn’t be happier. We highly recommend Peter and his team and would not hesitate to use them again in future.
Great outcome – We were very happy with our new kitchen from Premier kitchens. Anita's design was outstanding, achieving much more that we had imagined. We were given an installation schedule that necessarily spread over a few weeks and Fred's team stuck to the plan throughout and all the trades were very professional. Many thanks for an exceptional outcome. Paul & Catherine, Milsons Point. Show details

The service stops once you pay the deposit – We were looking for a high quality one shop stop (design, supply, and installation) solution for a fairly high quality kitchen (well over 100k in total) and we thought we had found it when we saw the premier showroom so we arranged for the designer to come out. We had had a couple of designers out and were impressed with (A) from the willoughby… Read more
store. We weren’t ready for the process as we were waiting on a decision regarding what walls we could remove etc. which would impact the design but we agreed to tentatively progress and PK also put us in touch with their builder.
From the beginning we made it clear we are looking for a full solution provider, and we were told we get that with premier, design consultations, our own project manager, and their own installers, they even had their own factory we were told!
We had a draft design made up but we were told we couldn’t take this away until we paid a despot (the first red flag that this company operates on the basis of contracts and T&C’s rather than relationships and trust), but they allowed us to to take a photo so we could go away and consider PK as a provider. Our plans changed once during the building phase but again we were not allowed to take away a plan, but A did offer some good advice on possibilities so we were left to liaise with the builder and do the plans ourselves.
When the building works were finalised we went in as promised to finalise our plans (something that would have been a waste of time previously), although A was incredibly helpful as always it became clear during this meeting that the main aim was not to get accurate plans, but for us to hand over a deposit (which we did). We were told by A that we could still change the plans as much as we needed during and after the check measure so we didn’t need to worry about the accuracy of the plans (previously we had been told that when we paid the deposit we would get accurate plans to take away to study and finalise).
As we would later learn from other reviews this is where the good service stops. We were handed over to the general manager who arranged to come out and do a check measure. We still hadn’t finalised our appliances at this stage and we asked if it was a problem and he suggested delaying until we had done that so we rescheduled and spent the next few weeks finalising almost 10 appliances. We were told by A that all we had to do was give the appliance model numbers to them and they would take care of everything.
When the GM finally come out to do the check measure he turned up with another person, who he didn’t bother to introduce. I asked who he was and he just gave me his name (he failed to disclose his role or why he was there).
The following 90 mins were incredibly uncomfortable. I had never met the GM before and I found him rude, disinterested, unhelpful, and sarcastic, the exact opposite of what PK promised during the sales phase. It was so bad, my pregnant wife who was working in the back room came out visibly upset afterwards as she had heard much of the conversation.
I would later find out that the person with the GM was in fact a third party installer (not their own) and he spent much of the 90min visit shutting him down, for example when we asked about the best location for Zip taps they couldn’t agree, and when the installer mentioned clearance regs for the Zip product the GM gave him a look and a shhh to tell him to be quite (about installing the product in the correct way). This pattern of the GM trying to cut corners and the installer offering solutions happened several times, until the GM finally lost patience and ordered him to leave (yep, the installer). When I asked why he asked him to leave he said “because his phone kept ringing and it was annoying him).
We still had a couple of decisions to make regarding end panels, and fridge handles and I asked if he could send a few options through that they had installed before, he refused and said “better if we find them!”. Most alarmingly he seemed to be surprised by our raised dishwasher, which had been in the plans for over a month. This is something we had seen in the Miele store and we needed for accessibility reasons. It was clear he’d never installed this type of product before (which was a concern) and he suggested strange solutions such as a raised kicker (which in his own words “would look [Content Removed]”), or swap products. This was very disappointing since we had spent a month picking appliances at PK request, and the raised dishwasher was clearly in the plans. I suggested (at my own cost) that I would go back to the suppliers and see if I could swap appliances if needed, and I also contacted Miele to send through detailed photos of the installation process (it was pretty simple). Miele said that kitchen installers will normally just pop-in to check the setup, the GM wasn’t interested in that level of customer service, he insisted that we send through detailed plans. SO much for the detailed promise of “we’ll take care of everything, you just need to send through appliance model numbers”.
My wife suggested reaching out to the designer A again for help on the design side as the GM clearly wasn’t interested so I sent a follow up email, we even offered to go into the store the day before our babymoon to finalise the things we needed to see samples of (door handles). To our horror the GM replied to this email blocking our visit to (and undermining) the designer and started adding clauses that not only didn’t align with the pre-sales promises but were also a material breach of contract. He insisted that we wouldn’t be able to meet the designer until we had finalised everything, we would only be able to visit one more time, and that he would also have to be there. This made my pregnant incredibly upset as this was supposed to be her dream kitchen, we put a lot of trust in the promises made by A and we felt completely fooled by all the shiny in store design tools and processes.
We later discovered that PK doesn't have their own designers, it is a third party company (and it is in the contract, they tell you they have their own installers and then they sneak it in), and this third party installer also has their own sub contractors. This is something we try to avoid, and we would advise anyone considering such an expensive purchase to install too as there is no accountability, they even ask you to sign a separate contract with the installation company (good luck trying to get issues resolved that fall into the grey area between supply and install). PK is basically a supply only company with a shiny shop front, we later found out that their claim to have their own factory was also not true.
We answered all the questions we could before we went on holiday and asked for an accurate setup of plans (or even a simple sketch) to be sent through so we could answer the last few questions before we came in to the store (we needed this info to be able to answer some of the questions) and to our horror the GM simply refused, on multiple occasions. So much for the promise that we would get accurate plans once we paid our deposit, we paid the deposit a long time ago and we still don’t have accurate plans.
Whist on holidays we proceeded to get spammed by the third party installer, they were asking us to pay a significant proportion of the balance for and an additional (questionable extra) for products the GM was insisting still needed to be decided, they were also asking for a deposit for the stone which we had informed them we are sourcing themselves. This confirmed everything we knew about subcontractors, the communication handoff often results in a poor end product and customer experience.
The builder they recommended also mishandled asbestos during our renovation which put our safety at risk, and I was shocked to discover that the same builder had also mishandled asbestos when doing a renovation for one of PK’s designers (why did they recommend them!).
We have also been in touch with SIRA as they took our deposits without builders warranty insurance, which is a legal requirement for any primary contractor doing works over 20k.
Nonetheless, despite all of this I popped into the Drommonye store about 10 days ago in an attempt to speak to the owners of the business, who I would be as disappointed as we were to discover what the customer experience really looks like. I was promised that one of them would call me the next day, I have not received a call.
Our kitchen will now be significantly delayed as we have decided that we do not have the confidence that PK can deliver anywhere close to the dream Kitchen I promised my wife. We have requested our deposit be returned and we will absurd the not insignificant costs of the delays whilst we find a Kitchen company that we can trust.
Looking back I wish I had done more due diligence, if you search hard enough you will see that many other people have had a similar experience, and the willoughby store only has 2 reviews in the past year, they also have zero reviews on Product Review (something that is very unusual). Other negative reviews have claimed that PK asked them to remove negative reviews which would explain such a very low response during an entire year, thereby maintaining the illusion of a high review score.
