I occasionally found tap water has residues, but my 3 neighbour drinking the same water, have no complaints. To safeguard my health, I purchased PUREMIX Z7 undersink water filter (A$430 and plumber installation A$286) for my small unit in September 2024. So far find it problematic and very costly. 2 expensive Z7-R filters catridges got clogged… Read more

twice within 4 months, much shorter than the claimed upto 12 months, this add a lot more hassle and ongoing coast. A lot of intensive problem-solvings were involved including consulting senior plumbers and I decided to have the pipeline modified and install a new filter tap(totaling nearly A$600!). Cartridge clogging seems gone but water started leaking due to the death of Puretec Pressure Limiting Valve, cost $255 for plumber to fix. Puretec kept sending warranty replacement cartridges and Valve, I have spent over A$1500 on a $430 filter, a lesson other consumer need to aware of!

Will not purchase this brand again – Original installation lasted a year. Replaced the canister and the pressure is soooo low and then non existent with loud banging noises by the end of the day. I am frustrated that I did not realise ALL cold water would be filtered. I just wanted dining and kettle water filtered. Show details

Good product but stick with same filter – The Z6-R filter system itself works well. Had a plumber install it. We’re happy with the smell and taste of our water. We got ~12 months out of first and second Z6 filters (got a deal for two filters with our unit, ~24 months all up). For next replacement, Puretec said we can use any Z filter on Z6-R so we tried Z7 (similar specs, and a bit… Read more

cheaper than Z6 filter) but after only 4 months, the Z6 filter has got to be less than half-flow rate. Water still smells and tastes fine but flow has dropped so much, too much. I was expecting the 6-12 months as per write ups. From our experience, we don’t recommend using Z7 filters on a Z6-R filtration system. We’ll go back to Z6 filters.

Better off with separate tap for filtered water if you have tank water and building new home – With a new build I feel a separate drinking water tap is better value. We have tank water only so we required a filter system for our new house. I wanted a separate little filter tap as we had in our previous home but was told by the sales person that these were what was recommended now. I was a little sceptical as I realised that all our kitchen… Read more

cold water would be going through it. The filter lasted less than three months before it slowed the water pressure down considerably causing us to turn the tap towards hot to get better pressure for rinsing dishes, vegetables and hands or filling pots for cooking rather than changing the filter after only three months. With a dedicated filtered water tap you only use it for drinking water or filling kettle/coffee machine so naturally the filter will last longer as it did in our previous house (12 months with just two of us there most of the time).

Great water taste and great value – I bought the Z6 water filter to filter Sydney water. Noting that the only difference between the Z6 and Z7 is the filtration level for water harshness. The install was simple with all the required hoses and fittings in the kit. Note that there is a right way to install the non return valve...that wasn’t clear in the instructions, but once I… Read more ·  1

sorted that out, I couldn’t be happier. The pressure is great, water taste fantastic...I can now get rid of the in-fridge water filter jug.

Also, for a horizontal installation you will need some washers to get a tight hold and fit (no washers come for install, just a few wood screws).

Works well, nightmare to install though – Filters water very well. However, horrible to install, as the Puretec filter system wasn't directly compatible with the Puretec Mixer tap. Had to purchase more parts to be able to link it all up for it to work. This was super frustrating, particularly considering the same brand should have meant it was all compatible. User Guides were also not… Read more

useful, as the Z7 diagram did not once show how to connect to a 3-in-1 mixer tap (Tripla T4). The filter hose on the T4 mixer tap also had an unusual connection, which meant I had to go elsewhere to purchase connection fittings to make it work.

I am confident I have safe & chlorine-free water coming out from my kitchen tap – Been using the Puretec Puremix-Z7 for a while now and I am always confident I have the cleanest & safe water. It removes chlorine, sediment and bacteria. Also it is very easy to install and replacing the cartridge.
