Every time of purr varies greatly in quality

I find a good tin check date on bottom then walk 20mins to supermarket to buy as many of that date as possible. But from one tin to the next the consistency and it seems fish used varies from fantastic chunks of white fish to disgusting brown or red shredded ...stuff.i hope my cat doesn't get sick, as I ponder another 20min walk to check dates. Looking for 19th of July 2026, I got 5 out of 10 good product Show details

Purr Seafood Cans

My Siamese cat enjoys both seafood varieties. She eats 1 can in the morning with a dessert spoon of cooked brown rice, fresh kangaroo strips in the afternoon and another half a can of the seafood later in the afternoon. She was eating Canin dry food and kangaroo previously and got a bladder infection, so I took her off the dried food. The Purr is a switch that she enjoys, having tried other brands of wet food. Show details

2nd day I fed my cat and within 20 minutes she vomitted everywhere!!

I usually buy fussy cat or gourmet brand cat food but couldn't find any at Coles this time around so thought I'd go with their range of gourmet food. Honestly no complaints about the smell or portions size or even the look of the food it looked similar to other brands I feed her. The day I purchased it she ate with no issues if anything it took her a little longer to eat than normal which I thought was odd. Today I fed her and within 20 minutes of having this food she vomitted all over the floor. In the whole time I've had her she's never vomitted once or had any issues with food even when I change brands. For the cost you can buy much better food that won't make your animal violently ill avoid at all costs. Show details

Cat vomiting

Cat would NOT eat until he was starving. Once he did eat the food, he would be vomiting it all morning and I spent 20 minutes continuously cleaning his puke. I was late to work because of this. Show details

Won’t be buying anymore…

My cats used to love this cat food. But when they changed the packaging they changed the recipe. Now even the dog wont touch it. It’s watery and smells like its made out of rotten fish. Thankfully neither of them have gotten sick yet, like some others. Money wasted. Wont be buying anymore Purr. Show details

Cat didn't even like it

Ripped off, purchased a box of Purr Chicken Gourmet Selection Pack from Coles in Armadale WA. Unfortunately for me instead of 12x85gm pouches in the box, there were only 11. Show details

Not satisfied

I can't speak for the quality, except to say my cat isn't overly keen on it. But what does annoy me is we are getting ripped of by 15gm per can (45gm for the 3 pack) Show details

My Ragdoll hates it!

I bought the chicken gravy recipe. Opened the can & the colour of the chicken looked terrible & it didn’t smell good. It was not like the other cat food. See photos attached Show details

My 3 cats hate it

My 3 cats refuse to eat the grain free dry food and they are not fussy cats. They have never turned their noses up at any other dry food brand in 6 years. One cat tried to eat the dog food, preferring that. I was hoping they would get hungry enough and just finish the small pack, save waste but I will buy another brand. I would hate to be forced to eat chopped liver, after all. Show details

Questions & Answers

Why does Coles have to rip off customers by selling this rubbish which is misleadingly advertised as good quality healthy cat food?. Don't they make enough money from their supermarkets?. Why are they making loyal customers cats sick deliberately.? They know this slop they sell as "cat food" is making cats sick all they need to do is look at the ratings or don't they bother?. Shame on you Coles. It makes you wonder what is in all their food products clearly lying and false advertising does not bother them. Care to comment Coles?

I'm now wondering what exactly they put in this cat food. Looking for alternative now and I have bought this for 10 years.

Question E.
Question E.

Why compromise quality? The new product is disgusting. It actually stinks and is a watery mess! And why cheat us by reducing the quantity per sachet and the number of sachets? 11 in my box. Same price. The new Purr sachets make my cat ill and he actually hisses at the food. I threw it out for the magpies and they wouldn't touch it either. You might think you can fool us humans, but cats know! Bring back the old product or lose my custom too. I am disgusted with you, Coles! I thought you were above this sort of trickery. This is the kind of behaviour we see happening with products made in China. They start off well and slowly deteriorate until there is no quality and very little quantity ... but this product is not Chinese. Fix it, PLEASE.
