Q-Cells

We had Smart Energy Answers ("SEA")install a Q Cells Solar and battery system in April 2024. Last month we noticed that there appeared to be a problem with the system and so reached out to Q-Cells support. In the subsequent three weeks we identified major flaws in their support systems, not being able to download our photos, not having accurate records of our system, and not being prepared to give guidance via a video call. So, what ensued was a trial by lame and ineffective email. Not only was there periods of appallingly slow response, but the instructions proved to be ambiguous, ineffective, and plain wrong! We reached out to SES as the installers, but they wanted a $400 call out fee! Fortunately a very reliable local electrician almost immediately responded and had the problem sorted in about 15 minutes at a cost of $100.

Qcell absolutely atrocious – Do not under any circumstance allow anyone to talk you into Qcell panels. My wife and I had Qcell panels installed as did two other friends of ours at the time. ALL THREE sets of panels failed just out of the ten year warranty period. Qcell offered a token payment for a small percentage of the cost even though the panels were sold to us with a 25 year “performance guarantee”. Qcell is now being operated by a mob called Qhome which can only be described as a woefully incompetent cowboy outfit who would not know customer service if they came across is. zero starts Qcell. Go with them at your peril.
