Good vehicle but poor parts service – I own a Ram 3500 very happy with the vehicle overall. Some teething problems. I do wish to advise on the very poor service from Ateco the importers who assured me that a good supply of spare parts would be available. My vehicle lost a rear wheel as a result of rattle gun abuse on 3rd November 2021. Nineteen parts were needed of which about half were available from Ateco’s warehouse. These parts were brake and hub as a result of the vehicle hitting the road without a wheel. My complaint is that it is now 12 th January 2022 and all parts have not yet arrived. It seems that Ateco organises a shipment about once a month and it has taken 3 Months for them to ship to Australia in 3 different consignments. The final part is now somewhere between Sydney and Adelaide. Ram vehicles are becoming very popular it’s a pity that the parts supply is so poor. Next time I will organise the import of small parts myself using a service such as MyUs who can ship with FedEx. I enquired with FedEx who assured me delivery in one week.

Horrible purchase – This is without a doubt the worst vehicle I have ever owned. It has been plagued with problems relating to engine, transmission, and electrics. The dealer was unable to solve most of the engine-related problems like various engine sensors failing. The water pump also died about a month after its first service. Transmission problems sprung up out of nowhere; leaking fluid and high revs before changing gear. I didn’t take it off road or tow anything other than a small box trailer of furniture which weighed about 500kg total.
The build quality is terrible and anyone with an eye for detail will be able to see it as soon as you start looking under and around the vehicle. Some parts feel flimsy and generally weak which is not what I’m looking for in a four wheel drive. It is also far more expensive than comparable utes.
Just like Jeep, Dodge produces crap quality vehicles that don’t stand up to the task. I owned a Toyota Hilux for 7 years and the worst thing that happened to it was a broken fan belt but that was after it had crossed two deserts and been over Fraser Island.
Do NOT buy this vehicle, stick to tried and tested brands like Mitsubishi, Toyota, Mazda, Nissan.
P.S. It’s not a truck; you don’t need a truck license to drive it.

"Overall the vehicle is very good" – Overall this is a a very nice machine, but a few things need addressing about the vehicle design. Dial gearshift??? It's a truck!!! I caught myself thinking it was the A/C control a few times. There should be a clock independent of the info screen, since turning off the screen deletes the clock. Also, the screen can be distracting. I don't know why it couldn't have a program update for the clock to appear when screen is off. The fit and trim are very nice, but the truck could use improvement on the wiper control dial, door sills, cargo box deck trim, and rear bumper step/deck cover. It feels flimsy. There also is no option for a telescoping wheel. My info screen has developed a line running through it, which means replacing it is inevitable. My fear is that I'll hear rattles and squeaks after the replacement.

Great Truck – Plenty of power from the 6.7 litre turbo diesel for towing just about anything. A few disappointing issues - the shocks went at 45,000 km which is not a good reflection on the manufacturer when you consider the size of the vehicle and the very small size of the shocks. The other issue was the water pump which failed at 52,000 km and although it was still covered under warranty was inconvenient to have the truck off the road for a month and no one in Australia carrying a spare. If suppliers of these vehicles in Australia want sales then they need to back it up with spares.
Overall I am quite happy with the vehicle and performance and would I consider another one? Yes absolutely.
