Just returned from our first Regent Seven Seas cruise from Montreal to NYC booked through MyCruises. We were totally blown away by the service quality of RSS. It is everything like they claimed and better. Its status of ultra luxury is well deserved, especially with its included valet laundry service, free WiFi, and unlimited excursions. Well done RSS!

Lisbon to Barcelona. Pretty good, albeit the provided bus from the hotel in Lisbon took forever to get to the ship. I think the issue was partly that the driver didn't know his way, hardly Regent's fault, but I do know we passed the same traffic lights 3 times while he drove round in circles trying to work out how to get onto the pier. I spent the last night on board in ICU with a suspected heart attack during dinner (for the benefit of Australian readers, dinner was Beef Wellington !). It wasn't a heart attack as it turned out, but regardless, the care provided by the restaurant manager then the medical team was exceptional. Would have been nice if someone from Regent had followed up to see how I was doing post-cruise. And re being bombarded with hard copy catalogues etc in the mail, the fix is buried on their website where you can opt out. Would we sail with them again? Absolutely yes.
Ignorance and Arrogance – I laughed when I read James' review from 6 years ago about giving your address. Regent hasn't changed. Somehow I got on their mailing list and have been receiving brochures and correspondence etc to my home address regularly for about 6 months. I have rung twice and assured that my name/address would be removed. No such luck. I have sent a message through to their enquiry system twice - no reply and no action. They still keep coming. I have sent them back "return to sender" - NO USE. They still keep coming. They are the most ignorant company I have ever mistakenly dealt with. Will certainly never sail with them.
What A Bunch Of Con Artists – I booked and paid in full 8 months ahead of sailing. Then noticed prices reducing up to 30% for same cabin. The latest is a cabin rate of 30*% less Plus a 3 cabin class upgrade. Not available to early bookers. A bunch of Yankee shylocks, unethical scammers. Cunard and Seabourne are far more honourable and ethical than these. Will never book with these rip off merchants again.
I will make the cruise agony from a complaints perspective. 6 May 2018

For a really bad cruise experience try Regent! – We unfortunately chose Regent to sail from London to Stockholm. Their excursions were simply dreadful and are carefully orchestrated so that you can only do one excursion per day, which leaves you spending half of each day on board. Bor-ing. In St Petersburg the tout Regent employed as a 'guide' told us that the Hermitage Museum store only sold books. We demanded to visit this shop and were thrilled with the fabulous range of products - compared to the rubbish 'special store' that the rest of the excursion went to (there are only so many Babushka dolls one can accommodate in a house) it was absolutely superb. He was obviously getting kick backs from his 'special stores'. If you do have the misfortune to choose to sail to St Petersburg on Regent, do engage your own FULL DAY tour guide, there are plenty of reputable local tour companies who are willing to tailor a tour to accommodate your wishes. Regent's 'tour' of the Hermitage was abysmal, only a very short time was spent there compared to time in the 'special shops' where time was unlimited. Bor-ing.
In Riga in Latvia our female guide was in such a hurry that unless you were in the first five or six in the tour you did not hear any of her very brief explanations. She never waited for the slower members of the group to arrive and at one stage she was in such a hurry that she rushed the group across recently dug flower beds!
Finally, do not EVER give Regent your street address, they will NEVER stop sending you promotional literature no matter how many times you return their offerings. They are an environmentally unaware company that persists in wasting paper, printing costs, packing costs and mailing costs.

The cruise itself was great. Great food, great service. Just don't book through Australia. Book direct through US or ICruise. Its the Aussie office that is the arrogant rip off merchant.
