Vet Linda came to my parents home on a cold Saturday night, to put their beautiful Daffy girl to sleep. My parents were extremely sad with having to say goodbye to their beloved Daffy and were anxious about the process and having a stranger in their home at such a vulnerable time. But Linda made such a sad and heartbreaking experience a really… Read more

beautiful and comforting one. The lengths that Linda went to, to ensure both my elderly parents and their Daffy felt safe and happy, was incredible! The extra special treats and Linda’s gentle and empathetic nature made this heartbreaking experience so much easier and actually very beautiful. We are so grateful to Linda… what an absolutely gorgeous person she is ❤️

Saying goodbye to my beautiful 16-year-old pug x griffon, Cookie, was one of the hardest things I have ever had to do. She had been unwell for quite some time, and from the very first phone call with Rest Your Paws, the compassion and kindness shown to me was beyond anything I could have hoped for. The in-home vet was incredibly gentle,… Read more

understanding, and caring throughout the entire process. She showed such empathy for my grief (and many tears) and made me feel completely supported during such a heartbreaking moment. One thing I will never forget was her bringing a McDonald’s burger for Cookie to try for the very first time. Cookie absolutely loved it, and that small act of kindness brought a little light and comfort into such a painful day. It made her final moments just that little bit more bearable and special. I will always be grateful to Rest Your Paws for helping Cookie pass peacefully at home, surrounded by love and familiarity. I cannot recommend them highly enough to anyone facing this difficult goodbye.

I am grateful for the help we received with our beloved senior cat - the vet was lovely. I have to say this however we used this service 4 years ago also and they were AMAZING. I can’t help to think management has changed. The pre and post care with RYP is not so great. What used to happen with a burial was the animal was taken that night and… Read more

returned the next day. Now they don’t do this - we were not advised and it was simply advised on us on the night after an extremely traumatic experience to be advised of this and then told there is an after hours fee - was not so nice.

Go back to the same values and service offered we 4 years ago as now it’s not so personal.

Again I am grateful for the help as it did help our beloved cat find peace but I will now be looking at another service in the future.

I supervised the euthanasia of an 18 year old Lab. I would give the vet, Winnie 10 stars. She above and beyond. The cremation truck didn’t turn up, so Winnie took the body to her own home for pick up. They deserve - 10 stars.

Follow-up  · There was no need to explain the process as my family had owned a horse stud and I had seen dozens of horses euthanised. Winnie the vet was absolutely amazing as was Grace the office co ordinator. If the company could get their cremation service to work they would have the perfect business model. The owners of the lab did a disservice to the dog as he should have been put down 3 months prior. A lesson to all pet owners.

We do not recommend this company. We had specifically requested a kind, gentle vet who would pat and spend a little time with our boy before putting him to sleep, so that he would feel comfortable and relaxed before passing. We were reassured repeatedly on the phone that all this was put in the notes, that all their vet's are "lovely", and that… Read more

we would be able to direct events on our boy's last day, and we would not be rushed at any stage.

This all turned out to be a complete lie.

The vet who attended was cold, judgemental, and worst of all, impatient. This included her sighing and rolling her eyes. She was also dressed as if she was going out straight after, not dressed for the task.

When the vet came in the door, she was softly spoken and did proceed with some caution, but that quickly dissolved.

We introduced our beautiful boy and he repeatedly nuzzled her leg and attempted to befriend her. Despite being so sick, he still loved people and tried desperately to interact with her.

The vet, [Name Removed], ignored his repeated attempts of friendship and remarked that he was "showing off".

We repeatedly asked her to pat our boy and interact with him, but she was not interested, and she continued to ignore us, and instead only seemed interested in talking about herself and her career.

After that short interaction, she quickly went to her bag and told us she was going to administer our boy a sedative. We tried to stop her and remind her about what we had requested on the phone and what was on the notes. She was openly impatient and clearly annoyed that we were asking questions and trying to clarify what we had planned.

Soon after this our boy walked over towards his food and water bowl. Instead of allowing him to have a last bite and drink, she took that opportunity to grab him roughly from behind, and jab the needle into him. He squealed loudly in pain. She also bent the needle from how much she was rushing.

We couldn't believe what was happening. This was not even close to what we had requested, or been told would occur.

This woman was supposed to be a "team leader" which makes her selfish behaviour all the more appalling, and concerning.

Whether she just didn't bother to read the notes, or just did not care, either way she was clearly only in it for the money, and only interested im getting to her event afterwards for the evening.

We understand that it can be difficult for anyone to undertake this kind of work, but this was supposed to be a kind, compassionate and gentle service, and we did not receive what we were promised and paid for. Our boy did not get treated with even basic compassion, care or respect.

Unfortunately, unless some serious changes are made to this company, we would not recommend them to anyone who is in a sensitive situation, like we were, looking for a home euthanasia.

Extremely disappointing.

Still raw from the passing of our fur baby I wanted to say Thank you Audrey for being so sweet during our time in saying goodbye. Your sweet nature during the process was what we needed. I know my little man was in safe hands with you. xxx

I cannot recommend Rest Your Paws enough for the care and compassion they showed during one of the hardest times for our family. with love something we will always be grateful for. The at home service made Toffees last moments relaxed and their transfer service also made sure we were also comfortable. It was an emotional experience, but their kindness made all the difference. Thank you for helping us give Toffee the send off she deserved.
