Rinnai 2001

Makes loud creaking noises when turned on and when turned off – I replaced a previous Rinnai gas heater which I had for over 15 years with no issue. This one has been installed and when turned on it makes loud creaking noises for about the first 5 minutes while it's heating up. I have raised this with the Rinnai Tech team and sent a video but they want to charge me $220.00 to come out and do an inspection. I find the noises quite disturbing and I wouldn't have thought this would be right especially from a Rinnai product. Heater has now had metal bracing applied from Rinnai technicians but has not stopped the noise issue. Technicians advised this was occurring because the metal used to make the heater was very thin. This heater should not have passed their quality controls. Complaint is still ongoing awaiting resolution from their management. I always have to chase Rinnai for a response or update which is unacceptable. Customer service is woeful and the fact that Rinnai does not stand by their product or customers is disgusting. Complaint also lodged with The Good Guys where purchase was made.
