When it does work, it is noisy and smelly – Purchased the Rinnai PEPH15PEW for our sons room, he’s now 11 months old. It wasn’t used for the 5 months as it was heading into summer. The instructions were easy enough to use, however, we did note that it wouldn’t switch on when it was meant to, ie, set the heater to switch on at 16 degrees, however, it wouldn’t switch on until it got down to 9… Read more

or 10 degrees. For the last month, we’ve used it twice. On both occasions, it has emitted a smell akin to wet carpet. Not sure where it comes from as it sits on its wheels on timber flooring. Given the smell, we have decided to get rid of it, as we don’t want our son inhaling that. Waste of money. And considering the other reviews, tipping we should never have purchased it.

Noisy as many had experienced – Bought one to use in bedroom sleeping with baby, since it's heavily advertised as silent operation. 2 weeks into use and clicking noise starts, it developed into more frequent rattle, squeaking and buzzing noise, intermittent but few times each hour when turned on. them make such noises, they also tested for three days and said it was dead silent. False advertising and misleading, video provided is taken when unit was in operation in daytime and in a room with 4 computers, dead silent?

Please note the unit is on for a few hours b4 I took video and the red light means it was in operation.

Manual, packaging have no mention of expect noises that could disrupts sleep, instead, they both have in big print out of the main features as "silent operation"
