Hi - I've had an issue for the past few years. When i turn on the tap, it takes a little while (say 2 minutes) for the water to go from room temperature to warm.

What would be the best solution or should I arrange for the unit to be serviced?

Can you add a wireless water temperature controller to Rinnai V1500 system?

Rinnai
Rinnai   DM

Hi Patricia D, Thanks for the question, you can add controllers onto certain models depending on age. On the side of the unit there will be a model number beginning with REU. If you can confirm this model number our technical team can advise if the controllers are compatible.

They can be reached on 1300 555 545 option 3.

Hi, We have a Rinnai V1500 gas hot water unit. It seems to be making a continual humming noise throughout our ensuite as it's on the outside of that wall. We have been in this house for 10 years...so unit is clearly older. Is the unit on the way out?

Over the last 12 months I have noticed that during winter my shower water when set to a comfortable temperature can fluctuate to a hotter temperature after a few minutes of operation then drop to the set temp. This fluctuation continues during the course of the shower period. What do I look for. Ken

Hello , we have a V1500 unit that works well to the Bathrooms and laundry that are within 6 metres of the water heater. Trying to get hot water to the kitchen sink about 20 metres away has always been a problem in the last 10 yrs. (I will fill up the rinsing basin before trying to put hot water into dish washing basin and mostly you get cool water no matter how long we wait. ) The unit would be about 13 yrs old since new. The wife has talked to the plumber and said its normal for that setup. can you help. regards paul

Rinnai
Rinnai   DM

Hi Paul Pacini It sound to me that the problem is with the length of pipe work between the hot water unit and the kitchen sink. To get hot water to the tap, they first have to drain all the cooled water in the pipe work before the hot water can come out of the tap.

There are options to overcome the delay in hot water to the kitchen tap and we would recommend contacting our Technical Help Desk to discuss further. They can be reached on 1300 555 545 option 3.

Thanks Rinnai Australia

What is the litres per minute hot water flow for this unit?

Rinnai

Hi Rob, Thanks for the question! The Rinnai V1500 will deliver 24 litres at a 25 degrees temperature rise. At a 20 degrees rise it will deliver 26 litres. Hope this helps! If you do require further information, please call our Technical Department on 1300 555 545 (option 3).

Hi when having a shower after a few minutes the water goes cold just wondering if we need a bigger hot water system ..

Rinnai
Rinnai   DM

Hi Diamond K, if the unit is cutting out it is more likely to be an issue with water flow restrictions causing the unit to turn on and off. There are several things you can do to eleviate this issue and our technical team can run through some troubleshooting with you which may help. They are available on 1300 555 545 option 3.

Hi I have the v1500 six years ago have no problem last week I was changing the tab so I closed the water when I turned back on I have only warm water there’s any thing I can do

Rinnai
Rinnai   DM

Hi Jamal, You can try to restart the unit by unplugging at the wall and leaving it unplugged for 3-4 minutes then plugging back in again. Check that the water and gas remain turned on and try opening the taps again. If this does not work you can call our technical help desk on 1300 555 545 and they can advise further.

Thanks Rinnai Australia

I have just moved into a new house with a V1500 and it is really loud and vibrates but otherwise works fine. Checked all the screws and connectors and everything is done up tight. Changes volume with flow rate. Spoke to a plumber and was told its too old may as well get a new one. Would only be about 12. Any ideas?

Rinnai
Rinnai   DM

Hi Chris P, There can be a number of reasons for the noise you are describing, without being able to inspect the unit, it is difficult to pin point the problem. Our technical team may be able to provide more information and can be reached on 1300 555 545 option 3. They will need the full model and serial number which can be found on the left hand side of the unit to confirm the age of the unit and possible spare parts available if the unit is to be serviced.

Thanks Rinnai Australia

Thanks for that. I found a video about how to clean the fan out. Had a large lizard and spider dead in there. Cleaned and works great. Thanks.
