My Robo Plus has lasted a good five or six years. The caddy is a shocker - zero for ergonomics. I reckon a cheap removal trolley would be better. on the socket appear to have deteriorated, causing the socket and plug to become so hot that the plastic melted. You can easily check for this problem by feeling the socket where the robot plugs into the control unit. If its hot get an electronics repairer to replace the flimsy wites before the unit dies, or worse. The video shows the old plug and socket, and the more robust Narva plug and socket
I've only owned one robot so difficult to truly assess, but... people have stated on this site. Its more a four legged pair of shorts so you really have to work your way around it with the hose out, and often you're hosing out of one leg into the opposite one so it genuinely does take a little while... but not the end of the world - Have just encountered an issue with it having stopped working entirely and there are no repairers in WA so I've had to arrange a box and send it to Melbourne to assess. This is a little ironic because I specifically bought Australian and I'd think all of the big overseas brands would have local support in WA! In the end, I was told I'd damaged the cable (which I don't really agree with as I've handled the robot with absolute care, pulling it out with the handle not the cable per the brief owners manual, and its used once a week and otherwise resides out of the pool). The unit is a tick over 2yrs old and Robotek suggests the cable is a "wearable part" (though its not a part that is available on its website) and is only warranted for one year. I reluctantly accepted the return freight cost (~$80) and Robotek took on the cost of freight to Melbourne and the cost of the cable repair (cut, rejoin, heat shrink). I offered them the chance to absorb the full cost (they say something like "if we don't get it right we make it right") because I don't really feel it should have failed or that I contributed to that... but Robotek believed they were doing that by absorbing some of the costs. I left it at that - The painted steel "caddy" started rusting almost immediately and looks like its 20 years old, not 2. You have to be careful with not getting paint and steel flakings fall into the pool when putting the robot in or out
Additional comments: - Have never really used the remote. Manual control from the powerbox seems difficult, let alone with an RF link in between - Access to support for the aforementioned issue was good, and Australian; and that was over the Christmas period when staff would be reduced I'd imagine. But balance that with the lack of WA based repairers mentioned above
Really disappointed with this product - such a poorly designed and absolutely bad quality product. The Robotek plus has been in the repair shop more often than actually working. I've now had this unit for 18 months, I run it 2-3 times a week. remote control is not great (have to be really close to the unit for it to work) - the leaves get sucked inside the unit rather than inside the bag, so leaves sometimes get blown out of the top of the air hole - when taking the unit out of the water, some of the debris falls out (have to do it quickly!)
What I'd like to see: - an app to control the robot - cleaning patterns - fix the bag so leaves actually go in the bag
My first robot experience - fine but not amazing – I've had mine for a year and a half. The robot cleans well and picks up everything with ease. Cleaning out the filter bags is slightly annoying as their shape makes it hard to get the dirt out of all the crevices. A waste of money – Come from a Maytronics M700 that had finally stopped working. Throughts I'd try a more affordable replacement. The unit was difficult to setup, needed to be left in the pool for an hour before the wheels would absorb enough water so that it would sink. use it). The bag is very difficult to clean compared to the Dolphins basket. I have a large pool with beach entry section and within 2 minutes of starting a clean the unit will take itself up and out of the water and then beap endlessly. None of these were issues with the M700. The user interface is terrible, there is no app, no scheduling and I will not endure the mess of cleaning this bag even if the unit would clean for longer than 2 minutes without taking itself out of the pool.

Regretful purchase – Poor machine. Go a name brand Standard rectangular pool, doesn’t get to part of shallow end. Silly rubber wheel covers impossible to fit. Bag gets stuck behind plastic grate so have to fight to get it unhooked after every operation. Remote not very responsive and you have to be close to box that’s mostly far away from machine. Great cleaner but after 18 months useless when tracks came off – Finally I had a great robotic cleaner that can also hold some content. I was very happy with it, until today, 18 months later, when suddenly one track came off, the robot obviously bringing in a spin and the other track came off as well. with shipping the unit from Brisbane back to Melbourne. When I was in the market for a new cleaner at the end of 2022, it was a no brainer to stick with Robo-Tek. The timing was good, as they had just launched their new Robo-Plus V2. One can see that customer feedback has been listened to and many small and large improvements have been implemented. The control unit has undergone a complete overhaul, well done! I am using the cleaner once a week. It has not missed a single beep. The cleaning result is fantastic, the operation and change of bags are easy, no more hassle with twisted cords. Nothing else to report on ... it simply works beautifully and does what it is supposed to, cleaning my pool in a very convenient and reliable way! Highly recommended!
Best Purchase in Years – I purchased my Robo V2 from Geoff, who was helpful, well informed and very friendly. This is the perfect example of you ‘pay for what you get’. I researched many options and settled on my Robo V2 , which I’m thrilled with. Does everything it says it can do PLUS even my five steps leading into the pool. fair bit of leaf litter during windy periods, and the V2 has no difficulty in cleaning up any dirt and leaves that end up in the pool.
