AWFUL – It worked once and did not start again. Have tried many times but to no avail. A complete waste of time and money. Good luck to the few who still have it and works.. Not many I think. Michael. Show details

hard to start after a few weeks – when the trimmer works it is fine but getting it to start is a problem. I'll try to start it again in about 1/2 hour time, maybe I will have lunch first

Love it – I love this product, being a female living alone and not having much money I found it easy to assemble and use and only paid $120 for it that being said I do only have a small front yard and can't use a lawn mower but I haven't had any issues with it  Show details

Very HAppy – I am very happy with this product. I have been using the Rok Trimmer for more than 8 years model number 150 85 50077. The only problem I have, is trying buy a replacement Bump head. I've tried the lawn mower shop for a universal head, but they all have a larger fixing bump screws. If you are able to help me purchase another one with the smaller… Read more

What a ripper! – I bought the 4 in one brushcutter/line trimmer/hedger/lopper from Masters and it is a ripper. Instructions are a little light on but its pretty easy to put together if you have a practical mind. Hedger works a treat on my trees and shrubs, Line trimmer requires a bit of control but can take on the more difficult jobs where the battery ones fail. This certainly feels like a well built unit which will last for several years.  Show details

Nothing but trouble – POS. Do not buy this product. As with previous reviews the manual is worthless. Spend the extra and get a name brand product. It's now in the bin where it belongs. Mitre 10 should hang their heads selling inferior products. Line trimmer head flew off first go and they charged me to get a new part.

Threw The Brush Cutter In The Bin After 3 Days – What a piece of crap! Am I on some funny home video, have I been set up for a laugh? The instruction book does not tell you how to use line trimmer head. Had left my brush cutter at home and needed to cut weeds at beach house. Like a fool purchased a ROK waste of money and my bloody time.

Dreadful - DO NOT BUY!!!! – Received this POS as a gift. Horrible assembly instructions and no manual available online. Managed to get the thing to work once after assembly. The line trimmer head couldn't maintain proper tension and just threw trimmer line everywhere. The carry strap buckle and hook fell apart the first time it was used. Unable to get the unit to start the second time I wanted to use it despite nearly pulling my arm off.

Poor assembly instructions and no back-up! – Whether or not the Rok petrol four in one brushcutter/lopper/trimmer/hedgecutter would have actually worked, and provided a reasonable length of service life is not in question, although I doubt its build quality as some parts appeared flimsy. Mitre10 sold the item at $199 to my impractical daughter. I was given the task of assembly.… Read more

Instructions were available, supposedly, on the manufacturers website and on youtube, according to the accompanying leaflet.

The company website address turned up a Page 404 message, i.e. no information and the youtube videos only showed how to change the various attachments.

It would not have been so bad if all of the parts had been included (I'm accustomed to dealing with sketchy instructions from IKEA) so that I could lay them out and work out for myself where things should go. Sadly, some parts had been duplicated and others left out. It would have been difficult to build and maintain the Rok device according to the manufacturers instructions, because there were none!

However, the leaflet that did accompany the machine had pages of do's and don'ts, most of which were brain numbingly obvious, including that hot parts could still cause burns after the engine was switched off and that the machine should be built and maintained appropriately for safety reasons. Also included were warnings that the device should not be operated above head height (Yet the picture on the box showed the machine worked at above head height, which was one of the reasons it had been purchased. That is, to lop high branches with the pole chainsaw.)

All things considered, and exasperated, it was better to return the item for a full no quibble refund from Mitre10.

Rok 25 cc whipper snippet – Bought this yesterday and returned it the same day. Do not buy, it is crap. When I bought it, I read the instructions, watched a you tube video, filled it up with petrol ( 40:1 ratio) - it would start, but when I used it to trim my grass it would constantly stall.

Cheap and Cheerful – I Bought this product yesterday from Big W it was clearance from $159 down to $99. There were only 2 reviews for this product and both poor. I bought this model knowing it was not a makita or Ryobi (spend 3 times more if that is what you are looking for, you do get what you pay for if you can afford it). There are a couple of YouTube video's… Read more

direct from ROK that tell you how to assemble and how to replace the nylon line when required which were both helpful (I obvoisly have not yet replaced the nylon line yet)

I followed the youtube instructions and assembeld and started the trimmer. It is powerful enough for the small garden that I maintain and is more powerful and the nylon line more flexible that the cordless battery cutter that I had previously. The reason for the change was that after 12 months the battery of my (Bunnings) Ozito line trimmer was dead and would cost almost as much as a new one Ouch!!!

I am pleased with my purchase and beleive that I will get 2 or 3 years of good use from it. I tried to find a replacement bump mechanism on ebay with no luck although the free phone number to ROK may sole that problem should I need to. easy to assemble and start and it is not as noisy as I thought it might be Heavier that a cordless, as you would expect and I guess you need a little knowlege of starting motors and maintaining

Like the colour and the motor but the rest is useless – I won this ROK line trimmer, To start with the only thing that rated is the motor. As for the rest of the unit I have never been more dissapointed with it.There is no slow odle clutch so when you touch a shrub it wrecks it before you can get it away from the shrub, it has to be switched off before you wreck the garden. The line head has a great… Read more

locking device on under the head so you cannot get close to the ground so you have to turn it sideways to do a final trim and because it has no clutch it tears great holes in the lawn before you get it under control. The colour No low idle clutch. To big underside of the head

It just doesn't start – I have only used this once and it was very hard to start. Then when it came time to trim the edges again, I could not get this thing started. The manual is not good, it really does not tell anyone "Do I use the throttle to start or just pull on the cord to start it." What a stupid brand of a line trimmer, I have just wasted my money on this… Read more

another thing, there is a silver coil that is supposed to fit inside under the line trimmer line feeder.

This coil comes off without even touching it, this would have to be the worse ever trimmer I have bought. This Rok brand needs to give a quality product to their consumers who buy this brand. It is not right for a company to sell something so unreliable and stupid.

It just won't start the seond time around, very bad petrol and oil mix idea. No need to have oil in the petrol container together.
