Rover Pro Cut 750 – Not a bad mower leavers are a bit flimsy but does a pretty good job 450 lawns in two years still going strong Show details
poor quality control – After about 18 months fairly gentle use the lower handle bracket sheared off where it attaches to the mower body.... no spares are available in Australia, the supplier cannot tell when a replacement will be available... never used to happen when they were made in Australia. Now left with a mower I cannot use. Also the throttle control lever… Read more
snapped off after about 6 months use... I do not think I will buy another Rover product, I`ll buy something that is not made in China... if I can find something.
Happy with this mower (so far) – Had an earlier version of this self propelled mower with the B&S Quantum engine , that went for 20 years before the self propelled gave up. The main difference seems to be the (Chinese built) Rover engine and the mulch mode with the ability to tilt the cutting deck . Can't fault the engine, time will tell I guess. Mulches and cuts great. ability to set the throttle to whatever speed you want, unlike eariler version of this engine is a great feature.
More torque than the opposition "commercial " mowers demonstrates there' s no substitute for cubic inches.
It' s one speed and a bit high geared for my liking. When mulching they recommend setting the revs as high as you can which is uncomfortably quick for me; I mulch at lower revs than recommended and found that slipping the clutch works too. (When this motor dies in 20 years time I will still have the B&S Quantum to slip into the mower?)
easy to use – Bought this for my husband for his birthday in April as our old one broke down. He said its easy and lite to use. It also picks up the grass neatly. his old one use to be tough for him to use and he had to push it hard. it was a good buy. Show details
Mowing made easy! – This mower is easy to use & a great improvement on my last one. It starts first time - so long as I remember to hold the handle down! It is light to push and therefore easy to maneuver between trees & bushes, up & down slopes. It cuts extremely well. Show details
Good mower only let down is the Self-Propelled system – The mower is reasonably light weight with an alloy base , cuts really well & catches plus mulches good. The self-propelled drive is a major let down on it , the clutch pads wear out fairly easily & the chain comes loose on the drive to often. Its a good mower to use on lawns during the winter months as it is quite lighter than most other self-… Read more
propelled mowers I have used before. As I said the real let down with this mower is the self - propelled unit.
Very Good Mower – Pro Cut 50 Push Mower Kohler engine cuts and picks up grass perfectly very thick Empire turf full rear chute and plastic catcher great air flow dust pushed out to the sides plus 4x swing back blades perfect. I dumped my 12 month old Honda mower which cost over $1000 and paid $700 for the rover. Honda mowers are crap mine would not pick up grass… Read more
cheap bag catcher small rear chute and single blade set up with no throttle Honda told me the grass was too long too wet and infered I didn't know what i was doing etc
But the rover cuts and picks up perfectly
Best mower ever – I love this mower. So so powerful. The Chinese motor has been faultless and is the most powerful engine on the market. Had a few mowers over the years bit this one is the best. Will pick up long wet grass and i love the speed. Not to slow. Cant understand people saying its too fast. I got better things to do than mow, so i like to get into it. Show details
Excellent Mower – Cuts well, catches better, easy to use, plenty of power {kohler engine}. Bought the mower on Monday, have mowed 20 plus lawns and couldn't be happier, will certainly buy again. Have Honda, Toro and Victa commercial mowers and the pro-cut 50 is the best mower I've used, hopefully its as reliable as the Toro. Show details
Good mower – I have had Rover Pro Cut 50 now for 6 months now. I have used it about 8 times in that time. I have only used the mulching attachment with the mower because i live in a dry area and it works amazingly well. It does not leave any heaps of grass. It looks like you have used the catcher. The grass was pretty high a couple of times I used it. I have… Read more
the Kohler motor on mine which is pretty powerful. Only thing wrong it has the rover problem where it takes about 4 pulls to start it.
Very good mower – I recently bought a push version and self propelled with rover 910 engine.both very easy start, really packs the grass catcher full and have plenty power on thicker long grass.the self propel is great for hilly areas and reasonable speed at full revs.(would like it a bit faster).lots of height settings and pretty good at mulching too. 19th 2018 Update: Procut 50
Yes I agree with grafton mowing. The rover 910 engine is a great mower. My one is self propelled. Been using it 2-3 years now in my business. No issues so far with the SP apart from a couple of cables. The height adjuster is showing signs of wear now and won't stay on the highest cut height. Looks like it won't be easy to simply replace it as its welded on..but if you are a domestic user this is unlikely to happen for 10-20 years..
I Mow Lawns For A Living, Awesome Mower – I really didn't like the price of the Honda, Husky, etc. so I read a few reviews went in and looked at the Rover 910 Pro Cut 50 mower $800. Preferred the non self propelled. All I can say is I will buy another soon to replace my aging second mower, yes they are that good. They start first pull (cold primed), soft pull start (not much effort to… Read more
start), I love the way it throws the grass right down the back of the catcher, even wet, packs in a heap of grass (have to loosen front with hand), beautiful cut, heaps of cut heights and finally a solid well built height selector, all solid quality build, great H/D deck and good handle height and strength (no flex).
Have already mowed almost 50 lawns with it so far so it has well and truly paid for itself, only just thinking I should sharpened the blades this week.
Only down fall was the Main front Sticker came unstuck and curled up edges within 2-3 hours of taking it into the sun.
It's a great Lawnmore for gardening business – I've upgraded my old rover that I've been using the last 10 years to the new pro 50 model. Rover one of the best mowers u can ever buy for home or business use as they cut wet with no problems with good blades, they don't block my as they have an open back, no shoot ant the new brigs and Stratton engine has loads of power and its a quick walk behind more. It's good value for money.

Know better, choose better.
Only for the hare! – It does a great mowing job, loads of power, clean cut, excellent pick-up and huge catcher capacity. The issue is that you need to be under 25 to run fast enough to keep up with-it. AT 65 y o, I've used it once and afraid to use it again least give myself a heart attack. It's a good machine, I have always previously had good experience with Rover… Read more
over many years. The self propulsion speed is just too fast - optional pulley sizes need to be available to slow the machine down for elderly users. This is possibly a safety issue the intending purchasers need to be warned about so if in doubt a test can be arranged.
Rover pro cut 50 – Had this machine a week and is tricky to start once refuelled can not understand why................. can mow lawn after lawn until I add fuel and it will not go. have to leave it twenty mins and it cougths in to ingnition Gives a nice cut am considering returning it because of the starting fault Well built except for the height adjuster is flimsy Height adjuster is flimsy and will not start once refuelled
