Great food – My dog, a pug, was diagnosed with a kidney problem mid 2020 after having recovered from a liver infection. My dog was 13 when she developed the liver problem. I put her on royal canin hepatic dry and wet food, she was on this food for about 12 months and completely recovered. Then at the age of 14 she was diagnosed with a kidney problem, so I changed her diet to royal canin, canine renal special dry and wet food. She has been on this food ever since, and she loves the food, she is now 15 years, 3 months old and after tests by the vet her kidney function has markedly improved. I can't praise royal canin products enough, thank you RC.

My dog is like a puppy – My dog (miniature schnauzer) of 11 years old was diagnosed with chronic kidney failure in Jan 2013. He had problems with his teeth and had to undergo surgery to remove most of them and since then (around Oct 2012) he lost his appetite and lost a lot of weight between Oct 2012-Jan/Feb 2013. I was told by vet that we should give him anything he would eat (except if it's harmful for him), although it was very hard as my dog would be very picky. We used to give him boiled chicken, broccoli, sweet potatoes as he only seemed to like these. By this time he would be so lethargic and would be lying down most of the time. I was desperate and started to look for alternatives and thought that his diet needed to change as I thought he wasn't getting proper nutrients. I read about the Royal Canin Renal Cans online and decided to give it a try. Within a few days he was much better and started to get up and greet me, wag his tail, move and jump around more. It is now May 2013 and he has gained 1kg in total and looking great. He runs around and plays like a puppy and with twinkle in his eyes. We are also supplementing his diet with a Chinese herb, Remannia 8, which we heard is good for kidney problems. We also are giving him baked and powdered egg shells. Thank you Royal Canin for making a great product. We are forever grateful. Smells good, wet food is easier for my dog to eat.
