Excellent Kettle – We have had this kettle for about 8 years and it's been fantastic. everyone who walks into our house comments on how nice our kettle is. It looks good and worked well. It has just started to leak now. I wish I could buy another one exactly the same. I don't like any other kettles! >:( Show details
Am trying to find another one – We brought ours in 2006, and it's been solid for a good 10 years... It's only now just starting to give way. Bit of a bummer that others didn't get to experience it the same way. We love it and are trying to find another kettle/toaster set, but it's a discontinued set. Maybe it's time to break up.. lol Show details

Noisiest kettle ever – Despite the price tag and against my better judgement, I bought this kettle approx. 18 months ago as it looked great and would match my kitchen décor perfectly. Bad move. I wish I had researched it first. The kettle is so noisy we have to turn the tv volume up quite a bit to hear over it and usually end up pausing the programme until the kettle… Read more
has finished boiling.
Having a conversation in the kitchen whilst it's in heating up is virtually impossible without shouting at each other. Looks good Far far too noisy, fairly expensive
Difficult – We found the design difficult. No water level indicator, if jug is still hot and yr filling it, the steam can scold. Very large jug, means carrying it by the handle is awkward and v heavy. In our small kitchen, i burned my hand on it (we had a RH kettle before). Cordless, pretty, makes a very hot cuppa No indicator, Too big, heavy
Looks good! – And that's as far as it goes. The handle cracked and was replaced. The replacement developed a leak where a screw on the inside secured the handle. No replacement this time and told by the company that 2 years was all you could expect from a kettle and to buy a replacement. Well it won't be a Russell Hobbs It looked good Very noisy

One of the great reliable kettles that use to be on the Market – Love this kettle had it approx 16 years only started to leak at the top of the handle still use filling only 1/2 full. Polish up looks great in my kitchen sad to see this brand disappear it is hard to find. Would love to purchase a new one any hints where you can buy one would be appreciated. Our Big W and Harvey Norman use to keep this brand but as soon as you are really happy with a product it seems to disappear off the market. Lakemagic Show details
One of the best things in my life – I bought my kettle in 2004 and still have it, and use it, to this day, in 2020 . It still looks like new and it's faultless . Excellent quality and design . Show details
This kettle just won't break after 22 year's – I have had my kettle for 16 years and it is still going strong, it has surely had a beating as I am a heavy coffee drinker up to 6 cups a day. Have the matching toaster and panini press. The kettle is the best out of the three. Will update when it dies. It's now 2024 and this kettle just can't be killed. Still gets abused daily with kids hot… Read more
chocolates and boiling water for my mop bucket. I'm really blown away how long it's lasted. Good job Russell Hobbs.
This is perfect! Can't live without it – Bought when they first came out, must be at least 6 years old now and finally showing its age. The on/off trigger snapped yesterday, it still worked if there was a toothpick handy. I made a reasonable repair I think, but the handle also came loose about a year ago and tightening it has started the chrome on the handle mount to peel. Looking for a new one the same! Easy to use, fast to boil, cheap to buy and relatively quiet. Reliable!! Zero. Show reply
Terrible – Poor value for money especially in view of extensive competition will not be replacing with same brand- RH are clearly cutting costs in manufacturing and it shows!! Bought it, and paid the extra for its elegant style and the makers good reputation. Alas it has barely lasted any longer than its cheaper utilitarian predecessors. Buttons fell off in… Read more
first 3 months, On/Off switch broke within 6 months and it is far too noisy to have in an open plan kitchen/living area.
Terrible – My mum bought this very expensive kettle, thinking that it would last and that it would look stylish in our new kitchen, she wanted a metal kettle with a wooden handle (that part she did get). We live near an airport and the first time i heard it i thought it was a plane taking off. We are currently boiling water in a saucepan on the stove as the… Read more
RH kettle we had started leakng, proably due to the screw that fell out of the bottom, the chrome was peeling off like al foil. I was a bit worried about getting electrocuted with the water running into the base. Would never reccommend this kettle to anyone. You could buy a $20 kettle from coles and it would last you at least 5 years The look was exactly what she wanted. a million
Terrible – This is a poorly designed and poorly made product, despite the attractive appearance. It is also difficult to get repaired and there are no spare parts. looks good it is noisy, flimsy, falling apart. this is the second one I've had, after the first one stopped working and I got a replacement. It is not much better

Good – For what it's worth, we had our kettle for a few years before it started leaking. Tracked it down to a screw on the inside near the handle - took the screw out and found the rubber seal had split. Bought an 11mm ballcock, drilled a hole, rescrewed it back in, and all fine. Hopefully another 2 years life in it yet! looks good noisy
Terrible – soon after I started using it, RH kettle showed rust inside and is health hazard to continue to use it. The chrome started peeling off like aluminum foil looks nice poorly made
Russell Hobbs noisy kettle – Bought this kettele for the looks... but it was so noisy, then the metal started to peel and water leaked from the on button. Changed it for the new reflections kettle and guess what... you need to be superman to open the lid to fill it up and when you pour the water it pours out of everywhere but the spout... taking it back to Harvey Norman tomorrow...money back or a new kettle... dont know which! Look
I loathe this Jug – I hate this jug. It is so noisy we cannot hear on the phone if it is turned on or hear the TV. The handle is loose. Getting a new one asap. Do not buy this one looked good when new
OK – I purchased this cordless kettle because of its looks. This is the only thing I have given stars for. If the stars where purely performance based it would be one star from me. It does mark easy because of its finish but this is easily fixed with your normal household cleaners. However over time the russell hobbs label comes off leaving parts of… Read more
the name. This does not look good.
The little signal light then fell out. I was puting up with its noisy boil but when the light fell out it was time to get rid of it.
I would of expected for this brand to be better then this. After all its not meant to just sit there and look good. Looks great, when new. Marks easy, smudges etc. Way too noisy. Print rubs off shiny surface.
Terrible – I liked the the way it looked. RH has a 2 year replacement warranty. Lucky I keep my receipts. HS (Harris Scarfs) were very good. After reading these reviews I opted for my money back. I replaced the RH toaster with the Breville professional 800 collection and will be purchasing the matching kettle with variable temperature. My advice, keep your… Read more
receipts. Nice modern look, matches the Russell Hobbs Reflection toaster. noisy, rusted on the inside, wooden handle became loose, scale build up on glass lid, Chrome buttons on the lid were falling off, a clicking sound coming from the on/off switch, Chrome started peeling off between the jug and the handle.
Terrible – I got this kettle to match the russell hobbs toaster. It lasted about 2 years. The handle doesn't seem to be built to take a lot of the weight so is now a little wobbly. It's dangerous to hold the kettle anywhere else besides the handle because the metal surface can burn your hands. The kettle triggered my power safety switch, putting my power… Read more
out.. having to go to the fuse box to turn it back on. This happened twice (trying different power points) so I know it was the kettle. The second time the power went out the kettle died. The orange light still comes on but it doesn't boil the water. I'd like to fix it but it's made so you can't take it apart easily. I figure it would be too costly to get fixed. It's a shame such a nice looking kettle having so many problems. Nice design Handle looks nice but not practical. Shiny surface shows marks easily. Nobs on top of glass lid come off easily. Noisy when boiling. Put my power out, twice, then died.
OK – One of first cordless on the market. Sold on it's ease of use and architectural design (kettle and base). We felt we had been served relatively well if you forgive the cons. Most annoying feature is it's loudness. Would've expected it to last longer. The leak greatly compromises it's usage. Love its modern, sleek, architectural looks. Its ease… Read more
of use and cordless base. Very functional. Sturdy construct (did not have loose handle prob in my case) Bought it because it has the least submerged plastic parts in the internal cavity. Pricy. VERY LOUD & intrusive when turned on, drowns out the TV. Gloss chrome or SS means it smudges easily but that can be managed with Viva SS if you don't mind. Calcification starts to show up on top glass cover in 2nd year. Reason we are changing to the "Sunbeam Cafe Series Peace & Quiet" is because in the past fortnight or so it has started leaking.
Only looks good when new – I bought the Reflection kettle because it looked modern and matched with other kitchen features. This is the second Reflections kettle I have owned. The first one I only had less than 6 months when the handle became loose. I took it back and the store replaced it with another one the same. I was a bit apprehensive about the same thing happening… Read more
again, but thought I was just unlucky with the first one. I have had this one about 18 months and the same thing happened, the handle started getting loose, but this time it came right off which was dangerous. I could have been scalded. Besides this I have had the same problems as other reviewers with noisiness, easily marks, scale build-up on glass and name coming off. I will not buy another one. The look Handle came off

Good – I have purchased one of these 10 months ago, but it has now stopped working, my local target store do not longer sell them, I would like another one to match my toaster, any ideas where I can buy one from? attractive looking, seems to not last long
Bad – If it's all about appearances, this kettle might pass the test. However, I prefer a kettle that I can boil whilst being able to have conversations in the same room, and that doesn't burn me when I don't pick it up. Seriously, buy something else. It looks great Unfortunately, the looks are all it has going for it. It's the noisiest kettle I've ever… Read more
owned, and the design of the handle is such that it's easy to burn your knuckles when you lift it off the stand.
Terrible – Unable to locate parts for broken hinges on glass lid. I feel that for the price paid, it compares badly with a cheap $29 kettle bought at KMart, which lasted for over 5 years Would not purchase another RH Kettle, even though it looks great on my benchtop! Looks good, matches the Russell Hobbs toaster. Hinges on lid broke off after a few months of use. Scale build-up on glass lid difficult to remove
Terrible – I found the kettle to be extremely noisy, very heavy to lift when full and difficult to remove the scale build up from the lid. [yes I did clean the kettle regularly, but this did not help] I will NEVER purchase a RH appliance again. Defintely not worth the money I paid for it. Unfortunately, I purchased a RH toaster too - wonder how long it will… Read more
last. I purchased this kettle as I had a Russell Hobbs kettle before and was very happy with it. It is a good looking kettle but that is all. I have three of these kettles in three years. Kettle number one worked for ten months then just stopped. The chrome buttons on the lid kept falling off and the chrome was peeling. I had it replaced under warranty and kettle number two did not even work. Kettle number three was replaced under warranty - the switch has just broken. I should have asked for a refund after kettle two.
Bad – Not worth the money. While it looks great, looks aren't everything. We constantly have to apologise to guests about the noise while boiling, and it has a horrible metallic taste that we can't get rid of. Looks good. Extremely noisy to use. I can't hear the television when watching it in the next room. It also has a dark stain on the bottom which… Read more
causes the water to have a metallic taste. We have been unable to find any way of cleaning it - it seems to be a problem with the metal itself.
OK – Love the design but would never purchase another one. This jug is designed for looks only, not practicability. Before this I had the original russell Hobbs cordless made in europe which ran for years and is still being used by my parents. I gave it up to purchase this one because I loved the way it looked! Silly mistake. Nice modern look. First… Read more
one I had the lid button would not work and metal bubbled around the top of the handle after 6 months. Replacement one still had a dodgy flip lid and started to leak just after 12 months.Tightened handle which stopped leak for about 1 month. Screw in handle is completely gone now and jug leaks everywhere.
Terrible – Weve had the kettle for 2y. Chrome peeled after 6 months. This morning my husband used the kettle and the handle broke off. He burnt his arm, im glad my 2 1/2 year old wasnt standing next to him at the time. NO MORE RUSSELL HOBBS FOR ME THANKS. Looks great Hard to keep clean Very loud.
Terrible – This is the worst kettle we've ever had. It's hideously noisy - no sleeping in while this kettle boils! It's almost impossible to keep clean, it's hot to the touch and parts keep falling off, the latest being the on/off switch. It's a shocker. We also bought a matching Russell Hobbs Toaster. That was also a dud. The lever broke just after the 12… Read more
month warranty expired, rendering it utterly useless. We'll never, ever, buy anything Russell Hobbs again! Nice shape. Everything!
Terrible – This was my second Russell Hobbs kettle and both of them were very poor. The first one was sent back under warranty after it stopped working, we paid extra and upgraded to this model. It works well and boils the water quickly but I do not understand how a stainless steel kettle develops rust so easily !!! The first one started rusting and now this… Read more
one has also started rusting on the top. I bought a stainless steel kettle thinking it would be good quality but the quality of the metal seems to be quite poor. It also gets marks on the outside which I can never clean or polish off. I will never buy another Russell Hobbs again. boils water quickly difficult to keep clean, develops rust
Terrible – I was very disappointed with this kettle, it's so loud you cant hear anything while it boils (which my tea loving husband does a lot!)I won't be buying another Russell Hobbs kettle again. the look extremely loud, lots of rust and calcium build up on lid, heavy, hard to clean
Bad – This is a great looking kettle. But it is very noisey and we are forever trying to remove the scale that builds up especially around the glass lid and the top of the kettle. Disapointed that it developed a leak where the screw which secures the handle penetrates the tank about 25mm below the max water level. Stylish, looks great on the kitchen… Read more
bench. Noisey, continuous scale buildup on the glass lid surround and around the top of the jug. Developed water leak just out of warranty.
Terrible – When I first saw this kettle in the shops I though...Mmmmm...do i really want to spend $100.00 on a kettle? Well I decided long and hard after looking at all other options at the time and due mainly to the fact that I wanted something of good quality that also looked nice i went with and sadly before too long I was so very disappointed! starters it boils for too long before the switch cuts off and it is so very hot to touch if you accidently put your arm/hand against it. The handle looks nice but you have to be careful no to touch the kettle with your fingers when picking it up by the handle. The top chrome plastic peeled/bubbled within a couple of months and the inside filter fell of into the water and no longer stays up in position anymore. For around $60.00 (may be evn cheaper now?) I would recommend you buy a Breville Nova Platinum Cordfree kettle. I will never buy Russel Hobbs again...we also bought a Russ/Hobbs 4slice toaster which blew up after 6months...very very disappointed! Looks Great! Everything else!
Terrible – Looks great as new, the design is good, but if it were much less noisy, and the parts were all made from non perishable, non peeling, better functioning materials it would be great. However this item is unfortunately flawed in so many ways, I would not recommend this kettle at all. Looks great when new.Seems to stay nice if not used too often, and… Read more
if used with filtered water only.(my sister has one also) VERY noisy. Also I didnt like the fact that the "chrome" on the handle base and lid top bubbled from the heat in no time, and pealed, leaving us with a rather ugly looking kettle. The closing mechanism kept sticking, so we had to release it manually from under the lid. Also a build up of plaque ocurred on lid and at top of kettle after some months of use with non filtered water. The "plastic" bits holding the lid on, and under the "chrome" button on lid perished and fell off into the kettle and the lid fell off.
